I'm new to GarageBand and I found this video a superb start point, the explanation was comprehensive, and concise and pitched at a good level. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much for making this very clear and simple tutorial. Ive been writing songs and wanting to make my own beats for a long time now but it looked intimidating but you made it very understandable.
I heard a perfect speed of delivery, perfect voice pitch, as well as an excellent 'pitch' in the telling of the story for this learning video. You are good and deserve a compliment as you are a very comfortable tutor to sit with online and learn from...I had to pitch for a living to large audiences and provide software application training to major corporations and went on to train people for free...mostly experiencing the other end of life now...and that's good too...
Thank for posting. I'm totally new at this. I am a musician. I play six string electric, acoustic and bass guitars, and multi keyboards. I've been attempting to make hip hop beats the old way. no i'm not talking Pro Tools, I'm talking about four track recording. Please don't laugh, a person can afford what he or she can afford. A buddy of mine showed me this so hopfully I'm well on my way. Once again TY
My stepdad uses ProTools since he records music and it is technically expensive and same thing with Logic Pro since they require plugins and other equipment. I’m better with GarageBand since it is free and I’m a beginner into making music.
Great video really. Clear, good speed... rich enough to be informative, not complicated enough for a beginner. LOVE IT . THANK YOU. Remotivates me to start working on Garage band.
I'm new to GarageBand and this was super helpful and way better than another tutorial I watched. I actually learned how to use the different parts and buttons in GarageBand that didn't make sense before. Thanks for making the video!
I was looking around for an easy daw to get into to no avail. Everything was just too complicated. And after seeing this i'm tempted to get an ipad just so I can use garageband. This is so intuitive!
This is a beautifuk video, I had a dream of mine to start making and performing music, you came in clutch, September 7 @ 1:16 am I took the next step, you helped make a kids dream come true!
Thank you! This was VERY helpful! I've been trying to get my head around GarageBand for years and I think I finally have it with your help and the newer version. I'll be coming back again to your videos!
THANKYOU SO MUCH, it means a lot. I was so confused on how to pull up the loops. You made it so clear and easy. Explained it like your guiding not like we already know half of it. Not one other video helped me out, no offence to them. But great video I would’ve wasted hours and hours!
Great 👍🏾 now it’s time to apply. First time for me. I’m a Dj the play mostly house & disco classics. But I’m ready to take it to another level but where else to start but using GarageBand right on my iPhone.
Thank You for Your Time! Though this was Helpful I don't use Anything with Piano as some other Comments Suggest a Tutorial for Guitarist or Modern Guitar, Bass, Drums would be Great! Not sure why everyone in GarageBand seems to be all About PIANO??? I would like to find a Tutorial that Shows how to Track, Record or Create Original Loop with Just-> Guitar! Thanks Again Though there was Other Descriptions that was Very Helpful.
Great video but while opening the app on iPad mini, the interface starts different and I never get to see the options for a new project similar as in this video explained. I suspect the desktop version is different?
This is great; thank you very much! Don't know if you "can" answer these questions... (July 2022) I make social media videos, YT, Tik, IG. Can I use my creations there? Do I have to worry about copyright strikes? And when exporting, what kind of file for social media? Much thanks!
I'm not sure about copyright laws but if you're gonna post on Instagram I recommend exporting it as an mp3 as that is the standard for music files on the internet
Beginner question! I have created an audio track and a guitar track. Both working fine and fed from a Focusrite audio interface. I can record using these tracks no problem. However, when I then add a drummer track, and try to record I get the message "Drummer tracks do not support recording". I thought I would be able to hear the drums as I recorded.
Edit - weirdly it works when "record enable" is NOT enabled. I don't seem to be able to configure individual track headers. When I right click on a header, all are selected.
Can you sell or simply post your work when done with your music? Or would you get youtube strikes of some kind of 'rights' strike or lawsuit from garage band?
When you recorded vocal (10:08), it looks like it didn't actually record. The wave lines were flat. Did it actually record? And what if you were singing and must synchronize with other tracks (the band), how is that done?
Garage band is just logic: toddler edition. (no offense) the exact same thing but drummed down. You could definitely make a hit song on garage band tbh.
I'm very reluctant to use a Macbook and have found my initial interaction way too confusing. It's a shame because my study requires using a Macbook. Far too confusing...
Hey just wondering if you can help with something on garageband! We’re trying to record with 2 mics, but for one of the mics there’s only 1 input and no output which is causing it to stream sound only from the left ear, whereas the other mic has both input and output and we can hear it on both, do you know anything about how to fix this? It would be a great help! Thank you🙌🙌
Ok, so I am starting out new here, I am trying to learn Garage band to start a podcast myself... For some reason, I cannot hear any of my audio when I try and do a test record. :\
I do not understand one thing, when I have the musical keyboard open, if I press "i" the screen make a flash (like a screenshot) but I do not understand what it is for
☠BLACK BARON☠ If you hear "Cracking Sounds" ... try to re-arrange the tracks one after the other. Maybe that helps after figuring out which filter is compatible with which other filter.
I get this message - and I know what it means - - but I don't know how to fix it . Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi. Sample Rate 48,000 recognized. Check conflict between Garage Band and external device.
A question i just cant find out. When recording audio with the mic in a loop, it plays automatically over the previous recording. So i can keep recording in a loop till i think my recording was good. I like this. But with midi, when recording with the loop on, the previous recording stays, so i can not play again and again till i have the best loop... Hope i explained it in a way someone understands... But i would love to record with loop on, with midi in the same way as with the mic. So in a way the new recording covers the old recording automatically... Hope someone can help me!
Thanks for watching. For VoiceOver or podcast recording, I recommend this mic. (affiliate link) amzn.to/3qtSWO4

Just got my first Mac Studio and I'm beyond impressed with the versatility of this software. Completely free as well.

This has been the best one I have watched as yet for teaching a beginner. Thank YOU!!!
Great vid 👍🏻 Very useful, clear and concise. I picked up more from this tutorial than hours watching others. Thanks 👏🏻👏🏻

Very complete guide and actually helps you to understand how to use garage band. Thank you!!!
Mate, great vid. Have looked at tons of Garage Band 'How to' vids and yours is the best. 👍

@@Meathol_Supreme2 Definitely can be, but most new things are confusing.
one of the best videos I found for beginners using this software
Bro!! This video helped me so much!!! Created my first beat yesterday thanks to your tutorial. Much love and appreciation!!

Very much useful sir, Thanks 👍
Your by far the best teacher.
This is excellent. I’m transitioning from Windows based software to GarageBand on a MacBook recently given to me. Had to subscribe.
Does GarageBand only work on Mac?
@@linmitchell8249 Only on a Mac.

Can I input several CDs, align them, mix each one individually and then master everything?
Thanks so much.

Thank you for this video
Awesome video.
Thank you Sajad Jan :)

Copyright infringement only occurs if you blatently steal something
Yeah, this is dope bro! You’re very patient 😅
My dawg saj.

Thank You Sir ❤❤❤❤❤
Nice vid!
Thank you!
How do you export one song from a live recording?

Hi. Can you loop an individual track? Like say I wanted to loop the drum, but not the keyboard?
Garage band is just logic: toddler edition. (no offense) the exact same thing but drummed down. You could definitely make a hit song on garage band tbh.
New to the program. Can you add a pre recorded song and create a track of song played?
clearly explained
thank you, but I have an acoustic guitar that I want to use with my macbook, I just need to record in like a basic way, nothing fancy.
Thanks for amazing content
Can the drummer be broken into sections with different tempo and style?
I'm very reluctant to use a Macbook and have found my initial interaction way too confusing. It's a shame because my study requires using a Macbook. Far too confusing...
You can disregard my previous question about Garage band about the conflicr between Garage Band and external device - - I just fixed it - -

hey, I don't know.
Ok, so I am starting out new here, I am trying to learn Garage band to start a podcast myself... For some reason, I cannot hear any of my audio when I try and do a test record. :\
I have many songs on Garage Band. On one of my songs, the ruler starts at :55, not Zero. How do I get the ruler back to Zero?
I do not understand one thing, when I have the musical keyboard open, if I press "i" the screen make a flash (like a screenshot) but I do not understand what it is for
When you click the i on the keyboard the flash is a screenshot as in its saving the image.
Can I sample my own choice of music into GarageBand software
If I create music using Live loops and Apple loops and make a RUclips channel, can I monetize it?
I followed the instructions to the T for EXPORTING SONG TO DISK, yet it's not saving as a WAV to my desktop. Ugh
☠BLACK BARON☠ If you hear "Cracking Sounds" ... try to re-arrange the tracks one after the other. Maybe that helps after figuring out which filter is compatible with which other filter.
can you use it with windows?

If I make a 4 bar beat and it turns to loop buttons how do I turn it back to normal view? On iPad
Is Garage Band royalty free?
My format doesn’t look like the one described here
Does anyone know how to get that blue dynamics box up? I can't remember the key and I'm losing my mind...

This must be for MAC. It don't look anything like that on my ipad pro?
Is this macOs Mojave? Or the recent one?
