I put together one of Paul Brinegars ZTFab carts a few months ago and used silicon bronze for 99% of the build using my Lincoln SquareWave TIG 200. You can see that video here • ZTFab Welding Carts
My Friend JD ordered a cart for his shop that included bottom drawer and foot pedal holder.
In this video, we use a torch switch at high amperage for tack welding, then we compare straight welding current to pulse tig.
And....we experimented with pulse settings using silicon bronze rod and lay wire technique and it worked great. - Хобби
This is the kind of craftsmanship that makes me love fabrication/welding. Love the touch with the glowing logo!
I appreciate how you can endorse your own products (and others') without your videos ever coming across as "ads." Much respect 👍
when the item being showcased is directly related to the channel to me it is not a ad at all but when someone is cutting into the videos trying to sell me a mattress in a box or a audible subscription or snacks mailed in a box then it is time to hit the unsubscribe button
I have no problem with Jody mentioning his weldmongerstore.com store and the products he offers either my only main problem is I need the Tig Welder first
I'll support Jody any way I can. I bought my first everlast welder and started learning how to stick weld watching his videos. He is a stand up guy who I feel genuinely wants to improve his viewer's position in life. Kudos to him.
One of the thing that helps is that he's upfront about it. No silly "reviews" or nonsense product placement and the focus stays on the craft itself not tools over tools.
I now have three more welders after watching Jody. I love doing projects around the house. I will be doing a wrought iron gate and fence front of my house.
The epoxy at the end makes this a real treat of an already great cart. Kudos to JD for the idea!
That glow in the dark epoxy is neat, such a nice cart!
Really like JD's use of coloured epoxy, nice little touch to the cart.
I've never used my pulse setting, now I have a reason to. Thanks for another great video! I watch them all & my tig has improved quite a bit.
Another great video Jody. This is the 3rd time I've watched it. I finally bit the bullet and bought a cart from Paul for my AHP 200x. Thanks for all you and JD do. I appreciate the sharing of your knowledge.
Just about to order one for my CK MT200.Beautifully done folks
You guys are poetry in motion! Awesome build and make it look so easy!
hey, Jody I have lots of respect for all your tips and tricks and for your experience, you make comments about the welding carrier that make me proud of being a 5 year welder and looking to stay in this trend for many more... Good job .
Great camera work on that TIG welding. Thanks Jody. Take care. Doug
I’ve been in the welding industry for a while myself and he’s def taught me a few tricks. Been using his XL TIG finger for my free hand TIG work and it’s really helped me improve
Your videos continue to inspire me to get out in the shop and make more videos... Looks like you guys had fun putting that one together. Those carts are super nice!
Beautiful work, now I want one! Thanks for posting.
I do stick, mig welding, never have I done Tig welding. That looks really nice, well done.
Nice project, thanks for sharing. The fitment is outstanding to be able to weld without filler metal, and pulse silicon bronze! I've been welding for 40+yrs and I'm still learning, thanks.
Another good video, always have a few great tips for us. Thanks Jody
JD has been building some super cool stuff. That's an awesome cart too.
Bought a foot pedal holder from him,it was perfect!
I was watching one of your MIG videos, and wanted to go do my own practice. My beads looked like I was signing my name for a package lol. Love your videos learning a ton.
Super tight cart man. I've got to get myself one of these for my everlast welder.
Thanks, that was a sweet build. After I changed out my huge torch that came with my Everlast 250 EX with a CK20 water cooled flex head with high flex cables it was a fantastic upgrade but I missed the button feature on the old Euro style torch that came with the welder. On line I found an inexpensive button and plug for my unit- under $10 total and wired it up. It is so nice to have that feature again using it as you showed. Very versatile in both 2t an4t. when you don't need the pedal. I would recommend having one on any torch just in case. One of the best other upgrades I would recommend is purchasing a foot control from SSC Controls out of Mentor Oh, Great product, service and price. Looking forward to your future videos. Ed K. Cleve. Oh.
Thank you for providing this information I wish you success
That's a very nice looking cart.
Glow in the dark, yes very cool. Thanks for the info
Great video as usual Jody. I really enjoy your collaboration videos with JD, and I recently subscribed to his channel as well. Keep up the good work, and thanks to you both for sharing what you do.
Ryan Mohr thanks man I love working with JD
Ryan Mohr thanks for the support! Jody's videos are the best, and I'm lucky to be in them!
Aw, you two are so cute together.;~)
very nice cart and build info. thanks for the lesson ... I will check into one for myself..
I discover and learned a lot of things while beginning training. Thanks for those nice videos
I appreciate all the videos you have that's a great cart
I like that you transfer measure to metric system
Those are awesome, great video!
I can hardly wait to get my TIG Finger set.
Just subbed to your channel. I could tell as soon as the kit was opened that that was a really nice, quality cart kit. I've never seen a demo of the pulse welding but it looks like a great process. Thanks for posting this vid.
That was great .....I love that cart...... Thanks....
Nice cart and as always great welding shots. I just subscribed to JD's channel too. Thanks Guys!
Take Care,
Reid
Looks good glowing that epoxy
Love that milwaukee storage box. Our dealers dont have it here in the Netherlands.
great video!! , id love to see a few more videos like this of just the torch switch if you had time! i dont use a foot pedal on my tig and im sure alot of other people dont .would love to see a few tips and tricks from you with different materials and thicknesses etc etc on just the switch
Awesome Cart.
Love the kart
gotta love silicon bronze
Neat cart like the fit up
Its so Nice when you have that nice fit!! Great Job, to Both
We need a Jimmy, JD and "The weld father" himself Jody to collaborate together. pure RUclips gold. Thanks for the great videos, it keeps me trying to better myself everyday. #pimpmyweldingcart
Nice bead work
Great video
Now that was seriously cool. Iv got the sudden impulse to go dip dip dip now \m/
good video Jody....I would like to have one of those Cart's...
I think one of the coolest things about Jody is that he makes do with what he has, even though he is pro. He only has 1/8" filler so that's what he uses. Just like me, a couple of guys on a Sunday welding. RAD
Another real good video Jody, thank you..
I don't have a pulse option but am wondering if I set up foot pedal right... with a suitable max and a means of controlling the low setting - I might be able to get the right rhythm with foot to approximate a pulse. Like the idea a lot.
Jody, when I saw the syringe, I was wondering what you were gonna say he's been messing with :) LOL
Once more, a lot of learning from your video.....
I use the pulse for tacking. Prolly same idea.
I've been using torch switches for 20 years. haven't used a foot pedal in over 16.
I've been messing with the silicon bronze pulse for a while now and I found 3/32 red or gold 3/32 filler and either the rule of 33 pulse settings with high amps (can't remember) or about 120 amps and 95% on time and the rest at 33 makes for very nice looking welds, I really wanna try it on a small table or chair something aesthetic not structural
i still use "jabroni" to this day. underappreciated word!!
Very nice cart. Good video, too. It seems like more attention is able to be payed to the arc shots when there are two of you collaborating on a video.
I recently built a welding cart that I was fairly proud of. I'd like to be able to share it with you, but I don't know how.
Those carts are real nice. I saw one at the Bar Z Bash.
damn! now i want one!
looks a lot better than my harbor freight special! haha good video!
Josh Kosak yeah I want one too bad there about 10x the cost of my h.f. Cart, I can't really justify 500 bucks on a cart to hold my welder
yeah same here. if i had the money id be all over it tho. seems like a good product and a fun project
very nice
I don't think much of ZT Fab. The kit to turn a Harbor Freight chest into a cart cost $310 when I checked, and that was more than a chest cost. The kit also looked flimsy. I couldn't see putting $600 into the kit and cart combination.
The standalone cart is also expensive, and when you're done, you have something only a little better than a Vulcan cart, which runs around $100 and requires no welding.
I got a Harbor Freight chest and fabbed up a base from hot-rolled steel. It has a 1000-pound capacity, so 300 pounds of bottles are no problem. It has 10000 cubic inches of drawer space. Two welders fit on top just fine. I probably have $400 in it, and it will last forever.
It took several days to do what I did, including time for the paint to cure. I'm building a second one, and it's faster because there is very little designing left to be done, and I already knew what to buy this time.
good for the beginnings
Hey Jody would love to see some tig welding schedule 10 stainless steal pipe if you can make a video of that Nd if you get time. Thanks love your videos man.
I noticed on your "Share My Weld" app you recently started another website/shop
Hope it all goes well!
I have learned so much from your videos, and I'd like to thank you for that. I have a question about the burst tacks with no filler. I have a Dynasty 200 with a foot control. What finger control would I need to make those tacks?
Nice
السلام عليك شكرا لك على كل هذا كم هائل من معلومات
I want to make a cart just like that for my Everlast welder.
Makes me wish I had a pulse function, I quite like silicone bronze. Oh well there's supposed to be an after market module available...
Cool, musth've been fun putting it all together. The glowing logos are awesome, where can i get some of those glowing paint?
Jody - Do you have a guess as to build time with cart? Total prep time? After you come across edges with sanding disc do you dust them? And due you clean with acetone after you dust them or simply dust/acetone all in one?
when you were doing the "pulse" did you use the foot pedal at all? Or the switch on the torch?Does the pulse mode do the work for you? Curious how this works? Thanks!
Hey Jody! I've been subscribed to your channel for a long while now and you've really helped me advance my welding skills/technique, really appreciate the time you take to make these tutorials. I could do with a little advice regarding one of my machines, I have an old transformer Lincoln Norweld scratch TIG from the 80's that I really love, it's one of the smoothest welders I've ever used. I'd love to convert it to HF start, do you know of any resources I could look at regarding this, or could you offer any advice? Thanks for any help and for the great videos. Mark, Scotland.
The glow in the dark epoxy seems like a cool idea how does JD get a hold of it?
Jody when doing these burst racks, there really isn’t any gas coverage is there? I like going back older videos a second or third time to pick up tips I didn’t see before.
I wish I could hit that 'Like' button twice.
How'd you like the everlast power TIG 200?
Burst Tack shielding gas . . . . how did you manage the shielding gas start/stop?
either manually pre purge with switch or if your machine has a pre flow setting set to .2 seconds.
post flow was set low to save gas for the tacks
Very nice were did you day to buy one
Do you have a link to the Milwaukee TIG accessories kit?
What kinda camera does he use to get the arc shots???
Is ver y nice!
You think it would hold up fine to weld the non weight bearing welds with 309 wire
what's cost on one of these? be a great first welding project with my new machine
Would it better to go to a tech out of high school or just hop right into an apprenticeship if I wanna get my journeymans card?
Tell chucke2009 to quit disabling comments
chuckes too busy to answer comments
Jesse Acker Jody has more subs and still responds. I know chucke is also working but it's nice to be able to ask questions ya know
Jimbo 71 oh i know what you mean. its a legit point
Jimbo 71 oh i know what you mean. its a legit point.
The difference between Lance and Jody, you can usually find welding criticism on Lance's comment sections, and none on Jody's.
. i really have a question... so i have $500-1000 and i really want a combo welder...i do tig mig stick flux oxyacetylene & plasma cutting...
what would u recommend i buy ..... i plan on making sturdy furniture and selling it via online and flea markets..
perfct😀
That's just like porn for welders. Beautiful welds!
hi Jody.
are you OK ?
laryngitis ?
missed your narrative.
letting the torch do the talking.
how many welding carts need to be welded first lol
what is the epoxy he used
'Howdy Jody. Can you please tell me where i can find those blue tubes/canisters for the filler rod? TIA
Wild Weasel I found them at my local welding supply for like $12.
Thanks bud. They look nice. I usually keep them on the thin plastic sheath or use a 2 inch capped pvc tube
I use 3/4" PVC since I have many types of filler and little room to store. For steel rods, the little oxygen absorber packets from commercial jerky packages helps to keep corrosion down. Use in addition with silica gel. Oxygen absorber packs have powdered iron and salt.
Walking the cup has a place, but I think almost exclusively on heavy stuff. The travel speed is just too slow for thin materials
i think we all need to wear those masks just too watch the light from it on youtube lol
ووووووه رووووعه شي جميل
ever tried a kemppi welder?
I have here in Tampere, Finland. My school has epic Kemppi and ESAB equipment. I just hope I don't get too spoiled with these machines.
You could have used mig wire as a filler rod....
I NEED to know how to get epoxy like that???? I have a project for that and I'm quite literally begging for assistance.
Your local hardware store should have something similar to this. www.bunnings.com.au/loctite-14ml-self-mixing-epoxy-with-spare-nozzles_p1210127 I am unsure when you could buy glow powder, probably on amazon lol
