    Isnt it hard to fill the wide gaps? The wire is much thinner than the opening?
    Great welding and setup👍

    • @richardchase4019
      @richardchase4019 3 года назад +3

      The root gap on a mig setup is a bit large. Mig root weld is done with a slight downhill allowing a easy fill of the root gap. In fact a smaller root gap will not allow a complete tie in of weld to inside of landing of root.

    Used to study piping and construction but they never showed or told us about half of the tricks I see you use that make the job easier to manage, may I ask. Is it normal for MAG welding on piping? I always thought it was the standard to TIG piping. Would love to hear.

    • @richardchase4019
      @richardchase4019 3 года назад +1

      Here in Michigan Oil fields Mig welding pipe is perfectly fine up to 800 psi and anything over that was tig root with 7018 fill and cap. Unless the customer called out something else

    • @ARCONEWELDING
      @ARCONEWELDING  3 года назад +2

      People are using mig more and more because of its speed but my pipe is all low pressure so is perfectly fine and its almost standard to mig in the uk
