It's a good idea to remove the big dust particles (clearly visible on the record you use in the video) with a dry brush before wetting the record. No reason to let it spread and scratch the record and making it wet. It will act like mud in the grooves when it gets wet.
Hi Jai. Use it. Play the record straight away. Stylus will be filled with debris. Meaning machine just wets the surface and vacuum only cleans the surface. I advice you to get a Chinese ultrasonic machine for $300. I am perfecting the art of cleaning records. Record is 100% cleaned from inner grooves and record becomes, say VG to strong VG. After UC clean, I use this project to dry it. You must get an US machine considering huge collection you have amassed Jai. There is another machine in US which vacuums both sides at one time. I will get that.
I will try it on some truly dirty record. However, I played the record both before and after cleaning, the result was impressive. I also have the VPI cleaning machine pretty much a very respected and celebrated U.S. brand. The PROJECT is as good as my VPI.
@@rajshreedelhi My stance Jai is that the machine doesn’t clean the records. I used it for a year. Used multiple concoctions. Debris from inner grooves was sticking to stylus. Just get an ultrasonic machine. You will be shocked. You see dust of decades settling at the bottom of the tub after cleaning 50 records. AND, the impression that records sound better after project wash is due the fact that grooves are still wet and you hear less crackle. After a week or so, record will sound the same. It’s my one year’s experience. It’s a learning curve. I was also helped by an older collector who initially showed me before and after results of UC machine. And concocting a correct ultrasonic solution is another can of worms😊
