I honestly think the playoff snub defeated Mike and the returnees from that team. They’ve been flat since Ireland (really since the OB)Looks like Mike panicked and tried to do a quick patch job to keep the belief of the program and fans but failed miserably. I personally have zero faith Mike Norvell is the guy. Because in order to be successful at Florida State you have to recruit at a high level. Top 5-10 class evrry single year. And every 3-4 years a top 5 class. Thats what we acheived with Jimbo and Bobby. We can achieve that now. And thats the way you gotta recruit to win national titles. But Norvell just can't do it, it's not in him. His currently philosophy of raiding the portal is not a recipe for long term success. But if the fans and the reporters can freaking have a positive narrative to the guys that are on the field playing then maybe we can turn something’s around. It’s absolutely so easy to criticize. It is so easy to just complain and complain because you’re not happy with the product we get it. But changing the narrative and seeing the good in the games can give this team hope. Word of advice from a Miami fan, stop piling on the negativity towards the current players game after game. You have a proven coach that will need an off-season to fix this. Mike made a serious mistake using Portal to replace players that have worked hard for a position. I can see using the portal to fill empty slots and providing depth, but not to push players like Brock, Luke, and Trevor out. Brock did his time, he deserves a chance. But more importantly Norvell has stepped on a FSU generational culture where Mom’s and Dad’s groom there son’s to play for FSU only to step on them by using the Portal all in the name of winning now instead of building a lasting program. Unfortunately, I think your right and we have to go to the portal to get us out of this miss.
Rarely in life are there any true "short cuts." I think you have this dialed up correctly; using the portal is not a substitute for actual recruiting and the time needed to build a culture of winning in the locker room.

I think the worst thing we did was to play that UGA game. We should’ve instead used that time to recruit the very best talent in the portal. That game killed our program because it exposed that we weren’t going to be nearly good enough the next season and it wasted time to get the difference makers that OSU, Texas and other blue bloods obtained. IMHO it started with the Orange Bowl, letting the key players in team success last season all opt out, this set a terrible precedent for our program. Bobby Bowden built a dynasty at FSU without the transfer portal, he brought in talented recruits, developed them in to awesome players, who wanted to play football. NIL has ruined college football, these kids coming are not coming into play football, they are coming for the money. Their entitled, spoiled and do not want to put in the effort to learn, develop and play football. Mike Norvell instead of making players earn a starting roll, he plays the players who have negotiated the highest NIL. DJ will never make it to pros, he gets $630,000 in NIL at FSU whether or not he plays or sits. OC needs to be fired, who calls two QB run plays inside the 5 with a QB who runs standing straight up and runs a 10 sec 40. No leaders on either side of the ball, no passion, no playing angry. Payton should have enough integrity to give his NIL money back. I would take a page from Bobby and start developing the young players I have now, so once you start winning again, the high caliber recruits will come.

Responsible leadership doesn't let someone "figure it out" with an 85 million dollar a year program. That said, he's already had 4 games to figure it out and by all objective measures the teams performance has gotten worse. For perspective consider this, the Memphis team we couldn't score 2 touchdowns against gave up 56 points to Navy in regulation play.

Y’all keep hyping Luke, but from what I’ve seen, Trevor Jackson is the closest thing to Jordan Travis that FSU has in the QB field, not the 2023-22 Travis, but early Travis, BUT BETTER! I think they should convince Brock to move on to a team that suits his skill set, because from what I’ve seen from the end of last season to the SMU game, there’s no growth in decision making. I could be wrong, but it’s like I saw the same QB that I saw in the Louisville game and UGA. The reason I give the edge to Jackson, is because Luke is still new to the QB game, because he use to be a WR/TE, when Jackson has always been a QB.
Great idea, BUT what QB would want to transfer and play behind this offensive line? Every year the offensive line has SUCKED under Adkins. He has to be fired Immediately! Adkins has always been the weakest coaching link on this team. Jordan Travis and those two Giant Receivers they had last year made the OL look a Million times better than they actually were. He recruits the same type of kids even at QB nothing special about the QB room. Look around at the other teams in the country the QB position is about being athletic and can move we don’t have that. Rarely in life are there any true "short cuts." I think you have this dialed up correctly; using the portal is not a substitute for actual recruiting and the time needed to build a culture of winning in the locker room.

You sir are wrong...should the teams metrics fail to improve over the balance of the season, he will be fired at seasons end. Your understanding of the portal suffers from realizing one basic fact... top tier talent is not going to play for any coach/program that has failed to consistently put players in the NFL or otherwise develop them.

I don't think they've believed in any game yet, the DL won't get down and fire off, won't wrap and tackle, WR won't catch the ball, and the OL that he said over the summer was his best to date, really, unless they roll the QB out of pocket to pass or run or option he won't have a chance

I think the worst thing we did was to play that UGA game. We should’ve instead used that time to recruit the very best talent in the portal. That game killed our program because it exposed that we weren’t going to be nearly good enough the next season and it wasted time to get the difference makers that OSU, Texas and other blue bloods obtained. Sad 😢…
I think it’s time to go for Charles Boyle. His players are so undisciplined. Miami’s and Clemson will be brutal. I don’t see Boyle making it to the end of this season.

Pretty much nails it with where we are and the situation with Norvell. IMHO it started with the Orange Bowl, letting the key players in team success last season all opt out, this set a terrible precedent for our program. The ‘ we have nothing to prove’ attitude let down the school and the fan base.Georgia then embarrassed us as they should have. Norvell’s credibility was destroyed then, now we have a bunch of me first guys who just don’t play together, a heard of cats. Norvell is a dead man walking at FSU but because of the contract, we are stuck! Enjoy the misery because it’s gonna be here for a while.

A lot of players are exiting stage right at the end of the season, because of this year our brand is in the toilet we ain’t going to have enough cash to bring a stud in. Our recruiting is in the toilet too we cooked for a few years at least I’m thinking until we get a new coaching system Mike at the helm or not
Money is not the problem/issue... there's money to buy out Norvell and fund out NIL collective. Credibility is now the problem, and by that I mean Norvell's credibility with talented players. So yes, I think you called it correctly, this will take no less than 2 seasons to "fix."
What I mean to say is if I was a top gun recruit in the portal why would I go to the dumpster fire at FSU when I can get an equal match dollar for dollar for a competitive school in the sec. FSU is in the most competitive state for recruits next to Texas were cooked for several years because Miami decided to be good all the sudden don’t know if it’s a one year wonder or what but that hurts us going to the high school level

The responsible adults understand that the program has to be credible in developing young talent. At the moment Norvell has destroyed whatever credibility he had established last year.
Transfer Portal is hurting the teams. It makes it difficult to recruit players. Players will leave after one year making it difficult to develop players
So the plan is to go get all 5 of the best transfer players in the country and have a top 5 class. Got it. Sounds realistic.

Bobby Bowden built a dynasty at FSU without the transfer portal, he brought in talented recruits, developed them in to awesome players, who wanted to play football. NIL has ruined college football, these kids coming are not coming into play football, they are coming for the money. Their entitled, spoiled and do not want to put in the effort to learn, develop and play football. Mike Norvell instead of making players earn a starting roll, he plays the players who have negotiated the highest NIL. DJ will never make it to pros, he gets $630,000 in NIL at FSU whether or not he plays or sits. OC needs to be fired, who calls two QB run plays inside the 5 with a QB who runs standing straight up and runs a 10 sec 40. No leaders on either side of the ball, no passion, no playing angry. Payton should have enough integrity to give his NIL money back. I would take a page from Bobby and start developing the young players I have now, so once you start winning again, the high caliber recruits will come.

@@OwenWilliams-s3s SMU has NIL budget of $3.5 Million compared to FSU $12 million and they still spanked FSU. No matter what year it all about finding talent, what is harder is finding talent that wants to play football, not get money. SMU managed that quiet well.

Responsible leadership doesn't let someone "figure it out" with an 85 million dollar a year program. That said, he's already had 4 games to figure it out and by all objective measures the teams performance has gotten worse. For perspective consider this, the Memphis team we couldn't score 2 touchdowns against gave up 56 points to Navy in regulation play.

Mike should relinquish play calling and just be the head coach. At a big program you just can't do both consistently each year. Fuller probably should lose his job as even last year there were moments where his coaching and schemes were a problem but we could at score teams at times.

Y’all keep hyping Luke, but from what I’ve seen, Trevor Jackson is the closest thing to Jordan Travis that FSU has in the QB field, not the 2023-22 Travis, but early Travis, BUT BETTER! I think they should convince Brock to move on to a team that suits his skill set, because from what I’ve seen from the end of last season to the SMU game, there’s no growth in decision making. I could be wrong, but it’s like I saw the same QB that I saw in the Louisville game and UGA. The reason I give the edge to Jackson, is because Luke is still new to the QB game, because he use to be a WR/TE, when Jackson has always been a QB.
Great idea, BUT what QB would want to transfer and play behind this offensive line? Every year the offensive line has SUCKED under Adkins. He has to be fired Immediately! Adkins has always been the weakest coaching link on this team. Jordan Travis and those two Giant Receivers they had last year made the OL look a Million times better than they actually were.
Bottom line, Norvell will have to replace his entire coaching staff at the end of this season, but he has to fire Adkins NOW!

He recruits the same type of kids even at QB nothing special about the QB room. Look around at the other teams in the country the QB position is about being athletic and can move we don’t have that. Our QBs are no different than the Clemson QB. Recruiting is the issue and we can’t get none of these great WR in Florida? WR not coming to FSU with that QB room
