9ish hours…just starting. One minute in, and I’m hooked. I love the baldurs’ gate pc and app games, and the novels. This is really awesome to listen to while doing stuff around the house.

I think the book Abdel took to Candelkeep was the The Cyrinishad. I think I remember it was mentioned in the 5th book of the Avatar series and that's why Cyric wanted to attack Candlekeep, also, the description of the book here is correct. These novels are very absorbing!
Wow, I forgot just how bad this book was! Athens isn't a bad writer (he's written other books in the FR setting), but he gets so much wrong with this book that it makes me wonder if he'd ever played the game before starting to write. It's actually funny in a "so bad it's hilarious" kind of way. :D
@@blackratinn he's definitely not a fan, lol... I do wonder if he'd have done a better job, though, if he'd had knowledge of the game and its story. I don't know how it generally works when you get commissioned to write a book, was he told to use that protagonist or did he have the freedom to create Abdel the way he wanted?

One can say without a shadow of a doubt that the birth of Baldurs Gare videogame back in the 90s was a masterpiece. Many games have come and gone since then but the magic of the original never faded. Now in due respect to these original developers, i CAN NOT call the new game a genuine BG game. NONE of the original developers were there to make BG3. It has NOTHING to do with BG. If i dont see the Bioware logo i dont play that shite. In a way Dragon Age was far more Baldurs Gate then the new BG3, because Dragon Age was made by the writers of BG1 and 2. @@NukeTheGhettos
