    Thank you for the answer , it looks like they all have oil leaking and , it also looks like the font tappet base seal may leak as well , it’s hard to tell if it’s coming from the base gasket at the tap a block as well should I put a little RTV at the bottom gasket before I tighten everything back up? Or just around the seals only? They’re cosmetic Metal gaskets from the 1275 upgrade kit. I want to get this right instead of paying in Indy to do it all over. I just don’t wanna ruin anything. I hope you understand any help would be greatly appreciated as far as the base gasket. And thank you again I’m gonna be watching all your videos really soon to do as much maintenance on my sportster as I can I love the bike and I love to ride thanks again Rocco

    Do you have to seat the gasket into the bracket body(where it was originally)? I line the pin in the rear up and the Allen nut goes in but it seems like it’s still all cattywampus. I can’t get a could seal. Should I crank down the bolt and expect everything to seat on its own? How much positioning did you do to the gasket

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  3 года назад

      You were not at top dead center. What I would do is slowly turn down the four center bolts on your rockers and that will seat everything properly. Let us know how it works out. You will be all right just make sure those pushrods are correctly in place try to spin pushrods when you're done with the four rocker bolts.

      @@TwoWheelRocco thanks. I gave it a shot today and the block would not lift up. I tried a rubber mallet and it broke free but the tubes were still stuck to the block no matter what I did. I didn’t want to force it and do any damage so I put the screws back in. I did notice all four screws were not tight from the start so I snugged them down good when I put them back in…maybe that made the leak Idk. I’ll ride it tomorrow and see what happens. I saw Dan from Hammer Performance say four small dabs of super glue on the outer edge of the O rings and they won’t move and it won’t leak. I am afraid cause the bike is old but it runs perfect and in my mind the lifters are use to the current rods, if we put in adjustable it may be too tight or too loose thus causing ware and lifter failure and this hasn't happened since 1990 when the bike was new.
