I was confident but very pleased. The carbs and ignition had been rebuilt and the engine compression and oil pressure had been checked. All it needed was for the Planets to align and hey presto
At least it runs! Doesn’t sound too bad considering. Suggest before you spend too much effort on that tank, remove the seal where the filler neck meats the boot floor, the seal holds moisture and rots the neck out…..
Finally up and running and no smoke on start up absolutely amazing considering how long its been siting. I would try using some rust remover for the inside of the tank Richard I use Bilt Hammer it comes in different types. Give the powder version a go for the tank, fill it up with water and add plenty powder it does need a few days to work and it will eat away all the rust inside, I have used it lot on different components and after a clean with a wire wheel they can look brand new. Good work as always Richard.
you will hopefully have seen the next episode by now but lots of degreaser, a good handful of bolts, lots of rinsing and then a dose of SP10 from rust.co.uk before using their slosh product. I got a lot of crap out of that tank
The clutch was a bummer.bit of fettling required. Stale petrol is the most disgusting thing ever.maybe a new fuel tank ,that crapp will take some cleaning out.
..'while i was pulling it off..' Dear me.. What sort of a channel is this. Did you hear the one about the Irishman who bought a two piece jig-saw puzzle.. he sent it back because there was no picture on the box.
Now I shall look even more forward😍 to your video's for Land Rovers stick to MG's with lovely ladies 😜
Fantastic, what a result! Cheers
