I like your review. I’m waiting for Black Friday to buy a home theater projector. I’m looking at the xgimi horizon ultra and the Hisense c1. The issue xgimi not being able to display 4K and Dolby vision with Netflix stops me from fully considering it as my first choice. Have they solved this problem with a new firmware update?
I don't know about the UK but here in the US, 4K programming is only available on the most expensive tier (Tier 3, approx USD26.00/month). Dolby Digital 5.1 is also only available on Tier 3. There is a mass exodus of subscribers cancelling their subscriptions and moving to other platforms like Prime Video or Paramount Plus. It's not as good but it is better than having to deal with Netflix's nonsense. It is not XGIMI'S doing that Netflix is limited in features. This is due to pricing and what tier you are subscribed too. Also there is a long going tiff between Android TV (Google) and Netflix. Netflix will not allow it's streaming platform from being installed on a Google OS like Android TV. It installed with a third party software, it may work for about a week, then one day the screen will go blank with a message stating Netflix is not compatible with this device. This is why I use Roku to stream all my subscription including Netflix. I use the ROKU ULTRA which supports HDR, HDR10, Dolby 5.1, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
Yes for the better imagine quality and fan noise but both are very good. It's a slight step up you might not feel it was worth it later for the additional money spent.
Thank you for the review, I am hyped for this projector! But what are those bands going across the screen? Very noticeable on the elephants, and especially so at 16:40 if you look at the white wall. Any theories? Also what is the refresh rate, is it stated?
I believe someone already beat me to it, but considering you just reviewed the Nomvdic P1000 how does it stack up against this one? Can you tell if gaming is more responsive. Does the .65 DMD chip help the P1000 out with color etc?
While there haven't been any professional measurements of the P1000 yet It should have a much higher contrast (probably over 1000:1 going by similar 0.65" models) compare to the Horizon Ultra which has been measured at about 450:1 or 700:1 with iris (look up mondoprojos with in depth measurements). The P1000 also has a dynamic black mode so it can nearly turn off during fade to black transitions which can help improve subjective contrast in a dark room. The Horizon Ultra should have a bit wider color gamut for HDR due to the laser/led hybrid light source while the P1000 is LED only. The P1000 supports 1440p at 120hz and 1080p at 120hz/240hz while the Horizon Ultra is limited to 60hz at all resolutions The Horizon Ultra has about 18ms latency at 60hz/4K while the P1000 is 16.7ms at 4k/60hz but the P1000 can go down to 4.2ms at 1080p/240hz.. The P1000 is much shorter throw so to get full image quality it has to be quite close to the screen. Brightness should be pretty close on the two models. The P1000 is currently $500 cheaper at $1199 with coupon. Look up Viewsonic X1-4K/X2-4K as that is a VERY similar projector as the P1000 but in a different case and seemingly quieter (again mondoprojos measured the X1-4K, 1500:1 native contrast and about 3000:1 with dynamic black).
Thanks for confirming that it's only 60hz, what a shame for something that has a game mode. I might still upgrade from my Pro but I'm not in a rush tho.
That first video-game with the red glow had an awful lot of screen tearing, is that in real life or is it an fps issue with the capture setup? That would be a major turn off for me. The device looks awesome
That's just too bad. Why would they put a size limit on this new projector? I was going to upgrade if they'd remove the limit. I have a bunch of hd all of which are 5tb minimum. Such a shame.
I’m traveling overseas from the US to Europe and will stay in Europe for about a year. Do you think this projector is too big for carry on luggage? I wanna get one with me since Airbnb TVs usually small size.
Hi, I have a Epson 3800 which is very good but of course I have been looking to upgrade to either a UST Laser proyector or something else, Do you think this could be the one to buy?
How much better is it comparing to dangbei mars? In terms of brightness, sharpness (i know dangbei mars is only 1080), color and contrast? Is the extra 700-800 dollars really worth it? Btw my room is not completely dark but not very bright. No overhead lights, just diffused lights from other areas. Which would you recommend? Thank you in advance 🙏
Why did you choose 100 inch instead of 120 ? Im planning to use 150 inch, now im a bit worrying if the image will be remarkable more worse with 150 inch
Because of the room size that's why without having to completely rearrange my studio. Bit the golden rule is the larger the imagen the less sharp it will be and slightly less brightness. Also depends on how far you sit away from it. 150" but you're on the other size of the room will still look great.
I was literally about to purchase the JMGO N1 ULTRA but it seems like this XGimi Horizon Ultra 4K is much better. Which one would you recommend?… By the way, I am loving your reviews!
How is it compare to BenQ 3000 you just reviewed 4 months ago? The price is even a bit lower on this one. Color wise is this one much better than BenQ? Thanks!
Can it be calibrated? How is the fan noise? What is the throw ratio? It must kick Benq's x3000 butt really good in terms of contrast and picture depth.
There no way a projector will match pure deep OLED black levels. The black has more a darker gray. I have a LG C2 and Philips 65" and for response times and black levels OLED is unmatched.
Yes I have a white matte wall behind my alr screen and it works fine. Doesn't of course like quite as good but still very good. Ideally you should use an ALR screen if possible.
It sure does. I still love my Philips OLED 65" for gaming and those OLED blacks for a movie you can beat watching at 120" and imagine the cost of a super large OLED tv...
My favorite review channel without a question.
Thank you.

I'd want this at the back of my room, which is about 3.6m from the screen. Will that work?
Awesome content keep it up as always Chris Sir
Thanks for watching

Compared to the JMGO N1 Ultra which is better?
I just bought this projector and I'm thinking of using it with the ALR UST screen? but I'd like to get the opinions of other users before I buy it.
Just order one from Melbourne $3100 can't wait I'm watching all the youtube videos....
Hey, first of all thanks for the video... I have the predecessor "Horizon Pro". Is it worth upgrading? 😊 bye 🖐️

Camera shutter rate. Unfortunately projectors are hard to capture without rainbow affect, banding or off color. In person you don't see those lines.

Great review....You recently reviewed Nomvdic p1000, how does it compare to Xgimi horizon ultra?
Superior image but both very good. And the fan noise is very good with this model.
Nice Video! How does the XGIMI Horizon Ultra look compared to the Epson LS1200?
I can't say exactly as I haven't seen LS1200 footage but I believe this would be better.
Thanks for confirming that it's only 60hz, what a shame for something that has a game mode. I might still upgrade from my Pro but I'm not in a rush tho.
Yes 4k 60hz.
That first video-game with the red glow had an awful lot of screen tearing, is that in real life or is it an fps issue with the capture setup?
That would be a major turn off for me.
The device looks awesome
Just with my camera set up projectors are incredibly hard to capture as is. In person it's not like that at all.
Does this have the usb hd limit of 4tb like the Horizon Pro? It won't recognize anything over 4tb.
Hi yes it does still.
That's just too bad. Why would they put a size limit on this new projector? I was going to upgrade if they'd remove the limit. I have a bunch of hd all of which are 5tb minimum. Such a shame.

How is it holding up ? Specs indicate you can’t run it at full brightness for very long.
Just fine no burn in yet
I’m traveling overseas from the US to Europe and will stay in Europe for about a year. Do you think this projector is too big for carry on luggage? I wanna get one with me since Airbnb TVs usually small size.
Hello. Any display option for stretching 2:40 films for an external anamorphic lens? Thanks

What’s your screen?
What is the throw ratio? Can i project in a small room an zoom to make the image larger?
Yes but it puts out a terrible light shadow around the image I can’t get rid of it
How much does the replacement bulb cost and where's the opening?
Xgimi have great projectors for decent prices 🙏 their auto adjust is brill🙏
It's very good yes. But I still normally manually do my keystone with the unit first as best as possible. Auto Focus is spot on.
TechTablets ! , Thanks Much !.......
Thanks for watching.
3d mode does it play up down side by side 3d modes selection from 3d format movies from hard disk
i want it in black.
Did you see any rainbow effects with this projector
Thanks for the review!
Can you suggest a decent but not that expensive brand for the screen? And which color would you go for? White or grey?
How much better is it comparing to dangbei mars? In terms of brightness, sharpness (i know dangbei mars is only 1080), color and contrast? Is the extra 700-800 dollars really worth it? If you're not watching a lot of 4k content or you're just fine with 1080p then buy all means go for the cheaper option.
Can the ps5 be used to have Netflix in4k?
This or Jmgo N1 Ultra, which is best?
I prefer this unit now having tested it much better fan noise. You barely hear it.
@@Techtablets what about picture quality and contrast ratio?
Can you do a head to head comparision if possible?

This one is better so good move!
may i use laptop for gaming 1080 with this projector? my laptop gpu may have 60-100 fps only 1080
You sure can!
Good review.
What is the shortest through that it will support and what would be the screen size at that distance?
Being that this DLP any idea how it does with screen door affect? Thanks
Silly question from someone who never had one before. Is it possible to connect 2 Bluetooth earphones at same time?
Hi you can't sorry.
@@Techtablets no problem. Thank you!
Hi Chris - which is the best projector around in your opnion? Thx
hi Sr. have a good day where can i buy this projector?. can you help me where can i buy? thank you so much

How is it compare to BenQ 3000 you just reviewed 4 months ago? The price is even a bit lower on this one. Color wise is this one much better than BenQ? Thanks!
Colour wise it's better yes. But the BenQ better latency.
Is this projector compatible with a standard HD projector screen? Or do you need a 4k white screen?
It is and you can set the projector screen you are using in the settings.
holy molly
How does this compare to anker cosmos 4K laser
Looks great - Is it possible send audio to your stereo via bluetooth?
Fantastic, thorough review! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
🙏🏻
rather buy a 4k tv
Now that looks amazing in terms of design!
Yes sure is very cool looking and I love ve the drop down cover.
Assuming the projector is off angle from the screen, Does the auto keystone affect image quality?
Not really that much, but you do notice it ideally you don't want to be projectung at such angles if possible.
I wish they'd take out the speakers, no need for it. Less tech the better, but boost what's most important.
Im for that as I would use my own better speakers. But seems a lot of people like built in ones in such smaller projectors.
Will this work on a 100-inch white
electric projector screen?
It will yes.
What do you prefer, this projector or Jimgo N1 ultra?
This one defiantly, it can go head to head with even 3-4k USD projectors for more expensive units.
Wow, 2 videos in a short time! What a day!
Busy yes and more to come!!
@@Techtablets Nice! But remember to take care of yourself!
For ps5 does the projector accept vrr or allm
the first long throw DV is the hisense C1
was the 720 just a netflix app issue or if I played a standard bluray would it be full 1080?
Bluray 1080p and 4k will be at there resolution. That was a Netflix issue.
@@Techtablets thank you. Was moments from pullin the trigger on this one and wanted to make sure it wasnt a hidden Gotcha.
Can it be calibrated? How is the fan noise? What is the throw ratio?
It must kick Benq's x3000 butt really good in terms of contrast and picture depth.
All those answers are on the site.
Fan noise is covered it's fantastic with this unit you barely hear anything.
Hurraaa🎉🎉😂 screen 💪🎉💐🎉👍👍👍
Yes finally I was waiting to hold of the perfect one and it had to be moterized.
Curious how many watts it draws under various scenarios
Quite a bit over 200W with HDR/Dolby content.
what's the closest distance to the wall to get 120"?
I'm out so can't measure but it's some distance as this is a long throw.and not short. Of the too of my head about 3m I think maybe a but more.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching 👍
Is it possible to mount to the ceiling ?
Yes it is with a wall mount bracket and the bottom mounting point. Then flip the image in image settings.
Does it have a fake 4K like the Horizon Pro model or real?
Real it certainly seems far sharper than 1080p.
@@Techtablets Got it! Googled, it says pixelshifting. But that's OK for such price.
No 4k on Netfix App?
No as listed in my cons and explained plus shown in the video.
How it compress to jmgo n1 ultra? 😊
Better image quality.
Jmgo n1 ultra or horizon ultra or formovie x5? Кто из них будет лучше?
