    I bought the Halo plus and its been a great projector. That's for travel though. Might be considering this one as well for the home depending on if I go with a screen or not.

    Best projector review I've seen since going obsessive about wanting one (100+ reviews 🙄) This convinced me to go with a Horizon Ultra as opposed to the UST route. What type, or better yet specific screen do you recommend to complement its attributes/minimize its shortcomings? Thank you very sincerely!

      This would mostly depend on how far away you place the projector, but a 100-125" screen will gain the most brightness, while 150" still looks great too. As for the type of screen, just about anything will help this projector look great. Although I wouldn't necessarily go with an ALR (ambient light rejecting) screen unless you are shooting from a low position. Anything higher (especially if you roof mount it), and you'd want just a normal screen. Keep in mind that you will see some light bleed around the edges of the screen (onto the wall) since the field of vision (light) has to be larger than the screen so that the image can be dialed down digitally to fit into the space of the screen perfectly by its auto features. This is the only major drawback of projectors that can fully automate their calibration in this way. -- Ryan S.

    Hello. I am using xgimi rs pro 3.
    I'm having a problem with it being very quiet at the beginning of use, then after more than an hour or two of use, the noise gets really loud and interferes with watching videos. It's distracting.
    I'm new to beam project, is this normal?

    Why does white light bars still exist behind the screen after the optical zoom?

    • @PocNetwork
      @PocNetwork  23 дня назад +1

      This is explained, and even more fully in the full review (www.pocnetwork.net/product-reviews/xgimi-horizon-ultra-4k-long-throw-smart-home-projector-with-dolby-vision/). The lens isn't physically moving as it has no optical zoom, it is simply adjusting the image digitally to fit within a certain space. But the lens itself is still on, affecting the original area the light was shining at. Better yet, it's like a TV. Unless you have an OLED screen, when what you're watching goes to a black scene, it isn't like the TV turned off as those pixels are still on with light emitting to the screen. So you can tell it isn't perfect black.
      In this case, it's a tradeoff for having the ability to auto-adjust everything digitally. Maybe, one day, XGIMI or another company will find a way to adjust the image by physically adjusting the lens and its components. Of course, with moving parts, this increases the chance of something failing over time. But it would give a perfectly adjusted image on the wall or screen with no bleeding on the sides. Also, the price would likely go up as well. -- Ryan S.

    Does this have the typical universal screw patterns for mounting?

    So how would you compare the overall picture quality of the ultra to the Epson Home Cinema 3800, do either one of them blow the other one out of the water or are they both about the same?

    • @PocNetwork
      @PocNetwork  7 месяцев назад

      We do not have an Epson of that model to compare side by side. However, based on specs alone, XGIMI blows the Epson away with its instant-on, auto-everything, LED hybrid vs LCD, Android built-in, etc etc. Based on "use" scenario, it could depend on how you are using it (shooting at the wall, then XGIMI -- shooting at a screeen, Epson), only since the XGIMI will have some soft light bleeding off the sides of the screen onto the wall. -- Ryan S.

    Hi, Poc Network // Tech. Goodness Xgimi seems to have sent this projector to all the important experts on such things, yourself included. These videos, end up just acting as a sales pitch by the clever people at Agimi. Having said that I enjoyed you excellent Video. Thank you. This projector does not do it for me. The box it's housed within is very un-inspiring, and the 1/4 inch screw underneath wont be enough to hold a box unit this size and weight firmly.

      The visual design of the projector definitely relies on user preference, for sure. I also agree that it would have been better to see a bracket approach for mounting vs. the threads on the bottom. The threads have likely been tested by XGIMI, but we weren't willing to hang it upside down from them ourselves. I'll ask to see if that can be mentioned in the review. -- Ryan S.

    I’m traveling overseas from the US to Europe and will stay in Europe for about a year. Do you think this projector is too big for carry on luggage? I wanna get one with me since Airbnb TVs usually small size.

    • @PocNetwork
      @PocNetwork  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, due to the size and weight of the projector, that would be quite the addition for luggage. It isn't really meant for travel. Too many ways it can get damaged. You'd be better off looking at the Halo series (pnet.click/ofk6c) or Elfin (pnet.click/p4myk). -- Ryan S.

    Worst colors

    • @PocNetwork
      @PocNetwork  9 месяцев назад +1

      If you are referring to the colors on the screen, we ran it through a number of calibration tests and it performed quite well as-is without adjusting anything. Obviously, some colors are exaugurated due to HDR/DV, but that's the same with any screen/projector. Sadly, not everything translates to the camera properly when trying to show off something like this.
      If you are referring to the visual design of the project, as mentioned in another comment, this is definitely user-preference. -- Ryan S.
