    The Mavericks are fantastic and Raul Malo is beyond that. Amazing vocals and his ability to sing across multiple styles makes him special. Wonderful. Thanks for your review.

    OMG! Cannot believe I found someone who reacted to the Mavericks! Yes! I bought this CD when it first came out. One of the best CD's ever. There is not a single song on this CD that is bad. The entire band is fabulous. But, Raul Malo is one of the most incredible vocalists I have ever heard! Be still my heart!

      Bebi C! It’s so cool to see someone who loves Raul and the Mavs like I do find this old video (from 3 months ago) and comment on it now. One of the best singers and best bands ever! There are a dozen other Raul/Mavs songs on my playlist, and I’ll get to them all eventually. Thanks for watching and commenting, BebiC!

    Raul Malo’s voice is haunting. I saw them live last night for the first time. Better on stage than even on recording. They brought the house down.

    This guy has the most beautiful voice, I listen to them daily. The Spanish songs are even better, but what can I say, they are all so GREAT🤗👍😃💕🎼

    Agree! His voice is incredible, and The Mavericks and Raul Malo as a solo artist are so under rated.

    My favorite band out of Miami, where I lived and grew up since 1959. Raul Malo's voice is just outstanding. Their music wasn't just country, it was Cuban/American latin rhythm and rock. That album was the best and I still have it.

    I bought this CD right when it came out for this song and ended up loving the entire album and how it was so different from what was out at the time. There’s no other band that blends Country and Cuban rhythms as well as they do and Raul Malo’s vocals are top notch. He’s a true crooner! This song and this CD is still my favorite of theirs and it's a combo of the drums, guitar, but ultimately Raul's vocals that makes me love it so much. I saw them in concert in 2019 and wish they would have performed this gem. The concert was still amazing though! If you ever have a chance to see The Mavericks in concert, don't think about it, just go!!

    Thank you! Mavericks fans have SO much difficulty trying to articulate how they feel about the genre-blurring music, about Raul Malo’s flawless and versatile voice! But we can all relate to being suddenly blown away at first listen. For me, it was 8-10-21. And my music world shifted on its axis.

    Agreed, it's a masterpiece. The early 90s was a great period for some country artists, and the time when alt-country was really getting underway, which was one of the best genres of the 90s.

    I used to hate country with a passion but we change and sometimes it’s all about timing. I got into country by accident in 1993 back when I was 21. I was driving a work truck and didn't realize right away that whoever drove it last had left it tuned to a country station. I simply listened along and must have been in the frame of mind to get lost in a song and the right one came on (All These Years by Sawyer Brown) and it stayed in my ears, my mind, and in my heart for days afterward until I had to buy the CD even though I'd never purchased a country music album prior to that day. That’s how it started for me. I love how country songs paint vivid pictures and that each one is its own story. I'd love for you to review/react to the band and their Cafe on the Corner album which stuck out like a sore thumb in my CD case among my Skid Row, Gn’R, Metallica, and Aerosmith CDs.

    I looked at Dwight Yoakam as being just another pop country, made up in a studio performer, until a friend from work in the mid-80's, actually got me to give a listen.., I was blown away and am still a huge fan.., from following Dwight, I got my first listen to Eddie Perez, which lead me to The Mavericks.., absolutely in my top-5 all-time favorite bands..., this from a guy, who's two favorite artist of all-time are Paul Kelly and Neil Finn...

    This is not really country. May be labeled country because of Nashville. But if this was the 60’s it would be mainstream hit parade and top 40.

  • @johnparker8588
    @johnparker8588 Год назад +1

    It’s not a country ballad. Again, if there was a real pop genre it would be number 1 on billboard 100. But being in a country genre, some of these young country fans don’t appreciate music this good. This song is for a more mature audience.

    This is the reason country music radio hasn’t any credibility. I went and saw them last year in a 1000 seat theatre because there is no room for them on the radio, because of the Blake Sheltons of the world. Just a shame

    I would like to show you some interesting stuff. You seem to know what you're talking about and I have some bands in my pocket you might love. I'm assuming you're open-minded. A Canadian band that won awards for their politically charged lyrics (they are kind of thrashy punk though) is Propagandhi. I don't remember the title of the particular song because it's written in a different language but the first track off of "Today's Empire's Tomorrow's Ashes" is absolutely amazing. They also have a song called "Purina Hall of Fame" off of the same album that talks of Purina (cat food company) giving animals rewards for saving human lives while they have an industrial cattle farm. I am NOT a vegan at all, but they put so much soul into it, it's hard to not love it. I know other genres too. But I think that song is the first one of the two you might dig. I think the main thing is you can tell they feel what they're singing about.
