  • Star Trek Starfleet Suite: • Star Trek Mega Suite: ...
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This suite is dedicated to James Horner and Leonard Nimoy, both of whom played a huge part in giving this music its soul. It seemed only logical to make this suite with all the great music for Vulcans and Spock in the series and movies. Featured are Vulcan/Spock themes from The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek (2009), Enterprise, The Next Generation, and of course, The Original Series. You didn't think I'd forget Amok Time, did you? This is probably the calmest, most laid back suite so far, which is a great contrast to my Klingon suite.
If I had to pick a favorite Vulcan/Spock theme, I'd have to say either the James Horner theme from II and III, or the new Michael Giacchino theme from Star Trek (2009). What's your favorite Vulcan theme? What other themed suites would you like to see?
Note to viewers: This is NOT a music video. The still image is just for something appropriate to look at, but this is primarily an audio piece. I hope you enjoy what I put together! If you like this and my other suites, give it a like, share the video with others and subscribe if you haven't - there are more on the way!
    Music From:
0:00, 47:21, 58:48 - Star Trek III: The Search for Spock by James Horner
2:04 - Star Trek: The Motion Picture by Jerry Goldsmith
7:50, 17:02 - Star Trek V: The Final Frontier by Jerry Goldsmith
9:56 - Star Trek: Enterprise "Awakening" by Jay Chattaway
12:01 - Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country by Cliff Eidelman
15:17 - Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home by Leonard Rosenman
16:21 - Star Trek: Enterprise "The Andorian Incident" by Paul Baillargeon
21:56, 34:11 - Star Trek TNG "Unification, Parts I & II" by Dennis McCarthy
23:16 - Star Trek: The Original Series "Amok Time" by Gerald Fried
29:41 - Star Trek: Enterprise "Kir'Shara" by Dennis McCarthy
36:40 - Star Trek TNG "Sarek" by Dennis McCarthy
40:11 - Star Trek (2009) by Michael Giacchino
45:03 - Star Trek: Enterprise "Terra Prime" by Jay Chattaway
55:12 - Star Trek II: The Search for Spock/Star Trek III: The Search for Spock by James Horner
Star Trek Fanfare by Alexander Courage
    Suite done in Mixcraft 7.
Original Soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Alexander Courage, Jay Chattaway, Cliff Eidelman, Leonard Rosenman, Paul Baillargeon, Gerald Fried, Michael Giacchino.

Trivia, that tiny little outcropping in the middle of the ring. I learned in STO what that is.
The whole ring can fold itself down and fit neatly into the center, and then the little outcropping is a tiny ship that takes off, then the ring folds itself out again.
      It's amazing looking.

Well done! I'm impressed with the consistency of the sound leveling and most of the segues are very smooth. Excellent timing as well! It does seem strange that Horner's Spock piece was practically unused -- I waited for it throughout the work, so it stood out that only a snipit of it showed up in the last phrase. But it did make me realize for the first time that those first four notes are practically identical to the four opening notes of the original series opening -- strange to have never caught that before

I wish Enterprise had done a great callback to TOS during the Vulcan three parter (The Forge, Awakening, Kir'Shara) and used Gerald Fried's music from Amok Time - especially in Kir'Shara when Archer, T'Pau, and T'Pol are fighting the Vulcan Security Directorate agents with their tactical lirpa. I was pleasantly surprised when SNW did it at the beginning of Spock Amok.

34:11 Sareks goodbye was so superbly written and acted out by Mark Lenard and Patrick Stewart, and the somber music swelling to a full climax, then fading out slowly as Sarek drifts away with the word "Spock" on his lips just underscores the gravitas.

The D'kyr type was a heavily armed ship, able to hold off Andorian Warships one-on-one. It severely outgunned the NX-Class, even after weapon upgrades. According to Trip Tucker, it takes 1000 NX-class starships to destroy a planet - same exact number as the required number of Imperial Star Destroyers to do the same, according to Han Solo.
