THE REASON YOUR PUSH MOWER WONT START POWERSMART 209cc

  • The most common reason your push mower will not start in the spring and only runs on starting fluid is that fuel sat in the carburetor then corroded and gummed up the jets. Fix applies to all brands, including Honda, Briggs, Kohler, Husqvarna, Murray, Echo, Toro, Ariens and many more.

I have been searching for a video like this for a while. Thank God I found this. I have this exact lawn mower. I bought it from Home Depot. It will not start after sitting through the winter. I hope it is the same issue as this one. I have learned a valuable lesson watching this video. God Bless you for making this video.

I just showed my son in law this exact same thing. Ethanol is rough on things and I learned years ago NEVER use in 2 stroke weed eaters or chain saws. Worse in those applications and I always use the pre-made stuff now. Haven't had issues since.

Absolutely, about 2 years ago, a new gas station was built near me that carries ethanol free 90. That's all I ever use anymore. I even put it in my turbo truck and I get noticeably better mileage.

I have a POWERSMART 209cc mower that will not start. I will try this!________________________ Also the black rubber bulb that you push three times to prime it. Before pull starting the 209cc. It has a 1/16th" to 1/8th" diameter gasoline leak right in the center. Do you know something I could seal it with? That is gasoline proof. Or a common lawn mower engine item I can replace this bulb with?

Can't get ethanol free gas in Canada anymore.

Have the same mower. Bought it back last September. It seemed like a good deal for a 22" with a 209cc engine for $229. But since day one I've had troubles with it. Day one it took a a few minutes to get started. Just thought it needed to be warmed up. Then i put it up for about a month. Yanked it back out and it wouldn't start at all. Cleaned out the carb that had sand and grit all around the intake. And it took over 30 minutes after cleaning to get started. Put it away again. And just yanked it back out. Again wouldn't start. The carb intake was once again junked up. Cleaned it. And had trouble starting. It ran for a few minutes. But started smoking and engine was bogging up and down while shaking. Now won't start again. About to use this as target 🎯 practice. Any ideas what's wrong?

I would confirm the jets are clean and the float is working properly, dump the old fuel and add ethanol free gas and add a fuel filter if you keep getting weird gunk in the intake. In !00% seriousness 99% of the time its a dirty jet and or stuck float

@@juniorhardy8713 Update on my situation. Yeah powersmart more like powerSHART. You can get SOME replacement parts through them. But you will never reach them via phone . You have to send them email and wait for their reply. Which is a bunch of fun. Spent a whole month going back and forth telling them what my problem was and what parts i needed. I'm talking 40+ email's. Mainly because I'd tell them something and they'd reply with the same questions over and over. Received 2 of the 4 parts i need. Still waiting to see if I get the others. Horrible product and even worse customer service.

My PowerSmart 209cc mower says use regular gasoline. This is 87 octane. I can buy ethanol free gasoline at Wawa, but it is 89 octane. Won't this higher octane harm the engine? Burn the valves, I believe? If so, I will try to find ethanol free 87 octane near me. To run this 209cc
