I can't even fit a 2025 Accord in my garage, but I can fit a 2025 Civic. On a side note, I can fit a 2001 Toyota Camry in my garage but not a 2024 Camry (I tried but it was too big). I'm afraid that one day they will make Civics and Elantras a couple inches longer too, and then no new sedan will fit in my garage. I have a 1950s garage, and these new cars are getting too big. 😢
I chose a 2024 Accord over the 2024 Civic because the Accord is slightly safer in crashes because its about 500lbs heavier. My Dad is a police officer who responds to serious accidents often and he always tells me that little extra weight and size DOES matter in crashes based on what he sees daily regarding personal injuries and vehicle damage between Accords and Civics in general🤷🏻♂️

In November I came out of a 21 Accord EX-L into a 2024 Accord Touring. I was in the process of negotiating on a 24 Accord EX-L when the owner of the dealership came out of his office and saw the baseball shirt that I was wearing of which at one time he had had a personal connection. He asked what I was looking at and when I told him he said he would do better than that and sold me the 2024 Touring at the EX-L price. I was somewhat doubtful but my neighbor who was in the business for 44 years and was negotiating for me told me to take it. He even sold me the vehicle without the upcharge for the color I wanted. This is my 6th Honda and to date my favorite.

I think it's absurd that in 2024 every vehicle regardless of trim or make and model do not come with two usb-c ports standard for rear seat passengers.
Not absurd at all. Honda spends a lot of $ in research and development before releasing any car. In the United States most Accord drivers rarely have any rear passengers. I have a 23 Accord and NEVER have rear passengers 🤷🏻♂️

They should have Accord as a liftback instead of sedan due to much better cargo capacity. Also, they should still offer 2.0 L turbo Accord because it was just a great trim.

I have a 2023 Civic in Australia which is the top of range and only one offered. IT has a panoramic sunroof as standard, heated steering wheel and seats standard, Lumbar support in front seats as standard. I’ve now done 20,000 klms and have $200 fixed cap servicing every 10,000 klm for 5 services. I am disappointed the new 2025 Civic overseas has dropped these features. Fantastic car, handling, fuel economy, comfort and looks is second to none. Only benefit to upgrades in Canada and USA is extra 20 HP and sound dampening in wheel arches which would be nice. We also have standard Michelin Pilot sport rubber which is perfect for a bit of fun driving. Here’s hoping the Australian version keeps its original specification. Have never regretted the purchase. The Honda Hybrid is genius and the best in the world. You only have to ask a specialist Toyota Technician.
They didn't drop it. US market Civic never had the panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel nor lumbar support. Honda purposefully did not install those things here so you go upmarket to Acura and purchase Integra for (some) of those things you mentioned. It is an example of corporate greed.
I would go for the Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback. My exact points why you would get the Accord. Since both are the top trims, they are comparable except for the details you mentioned. I always get the Sport trim versions of the vehicles I got, so the handling dynamics is preferred over the cushy luxury feel with less feedback. Both are nice but you save several thousands of dollars on the Civic, plus the better fuel economy. The Civic Sedan looks even nicer now, but I prefer the hatchback. I wish Honda would make a Sport Touring Hybrid trim in the HR-V.
I have a 2024 HRV sport and I love it especially in the winter in Alberta regardless of it not being very powerful. Feels like good quality, the civic 2024 ex I drove felt cheap. Owned many Honda's so far this HRV feels like the best .
@user-wi8wz4mh9g I plan to get it. If I do, I may get the Pedal Commander later yonsee if itvwill make it faster. If not, no problem. I don't drive fast anymore. I don't need to.

@@kirkvanvranken3560i mean, it pulls the heat away from your body hence the “ventilation” part, same effect without the extra hvac which would drive up costs
The Civic got stripped down in several areas whole missing some features but comes with a higher price tag. Always loved Hondas but they’ve been going backwards ever since 2018. You’re better off going with Toyota or Mazda if you want a Civic alternative. The Mazda 3 is simply better value in less you REALLY want the hybrid option.
11th gen civic is perfect, styling wise. Performance and efficiency are stellar, and comfy....not to mention i get daily compliments on my car everywhere i go. Rally red 2024 sport hatch 2.0 NA with the rear spoiler. A lot of fun for a daily driver. I wouldnt recommend the turbo 1.5 personally, unless leasing.
Cars are growing in general so if you haven't driven a "compact" in a few years you might be surprised that they are about the size of a mid-size from 10 or 15 years ago. I would values the smaller size of the civic since I usually drive alone or with 1 other person (although 3 or 4 is hardly cramped for an 1 hour or so). Smaller = easier to park and better mpg.
Nice comparison, however I don't think anyone compares the first thing I search when I make a vehicle list. The important thing family protection. Compare the actual measurements for impacts like the side impact data found from IIHS. In a few years we will probably get another vehicle and for us personally the Honda Accord Hybrid or Honda Pilot are at the top. Safety, room for luggage, hopefully comfortable seats, and honda maintenance. We travel a lot so cargo, comfort and safety are at the top. Thanks
Nice comparison. Unless you need the larger rear seat room of the Accord, I'm with Team Civic. Plus, if you don't want a hybrid, the Civic offers a naturally aspirated 2 liter engine, while the Accord comes with a problematic 1.5 liter turbo. And the gas engine Accords look like taxicabs inside. Dull plastic dashboard. Cheap cloth seat fabric.
I have been on the fence about which to get and this video really helped! Bummed that they didn’t include lumbar support, but I have a way to help my back- Definitely not worth the extra $$$ for lumbar 😂
The Civic is definitely in a class of its own. What chance does Toyota have to compete with it when the Accord fails. Maybe the new Camry is a better competitor especially if you consider Honda pricing.
You did a great job in the comparison, however I have a 2018 Touring and one of my grips is the road noise. If you add to this excellent view a more detailed road noise comparison that would be great. COMPAIR both city and high way. Roger of Orlando
I have the Civic hatch and it pretty much does everything the Accord can. Many people feel the same because more are choosing Civic over Accord. Honda needs to revamp the Accord like the Camry and Sonata and make it exciting. The Accord is just Civic+ without the exciting V6 or turbo 2.0 engine to make it different.
@@harrytejI will say the Honda interior design looks good for once. It’s sleek, looks modern and feels luxury. The Accords style (in my opinion) isn’t bad, it’s kinda bland, basic and doesn’t excite me. I do hope they redesign the Accords exterior, leaning towards something similar to the Sonota, I honestly do not like the Camry AT ALL. I know it’s probably wishful thinking, but I hope they bring back the V6 as well.
Accord is too large/bulky for my taste these days, so Civic IMO. Same thing goes for Camry vs Corolla. I would select a new Mazda3 sedan over them all though. Personal preference.
Next do a comparison video of closely priced Civic Sport Hybrid vs Camry LE and/or Civic Sport Touring Hybrid to a Camry SE equipped to as close as possible to the same MSRP. Many people shop by price and not only by size class.
Great comparison. With the escalating cost of auto insurance I would be interested to know on average what the cost of insurance would be. I have read that the Civic has a high insurance cost due to theft among other factors.
Quick question guys! So the Accord couldn't add a spare tire to their hybrid vehicles because of the additional battery. But doesn't the all new Camry have a spare tire? If Camry can add a spare to their all new Camry hybrid, then Accord can as well, especially since the Camry still get better MPG.
The design and packaging of Honda's hybrid system vs. Toyota's is totally different. Toyotas is ultimately more space efficient, thus room for a spare tire
The current Accord should have been the new Acura RLX. It’s got the size and conservative styling to be a flagship Acura and the Diamond Pentagon grille would look good on that. It be easy to convert it to an Acura. I would have bought it if I didn’t spend an extra 7k for a 2023 TLX tech. Always and will be a Honda guy.
Honda maintenance is a joke. You can only utilize your free oil changes if the maintenance minder gets to 15% or less or 10K miles. Who the hell waits until 10k to change their oil? That is just asking for engine trouble down the line. I have the 2 yr/24k miles complimentary service and is has zero value as I do mostly city driving and need to change my oil every 6 months or 5k miles. Honda is basically only wanting to pay for an average of 4 oil changes at most over a 2 year period. Not worth the potential damage to your engine.
Doing one single 10k oil change isn’t going to destroy the engine. You can also do 5K oil changes at your own expense if you want and just go to the dealer to collect your one free 10K oil change. You can change the oil yourself or at a private mechanic at 5K miles and not reset the maintenance mileage. Then go to the dealership to get another oil change for free when it says 15% oil life.
Can you comment about the overall comfort? The reason why I prefer midsize sedan is the ride quality. I guess my question is would you miss driving an accord if you’re in a cockpit of a civic regardless of the size.
I feel like Honda targets boring people to buy their cars I want to like Honda but I feel like the designs of their cars and SUVs are so basic. Don't get me wrong they are great cars to drive (at least 80% of them) but why can't they be nice to look at too? Inside and out.
"Boring"....no, it's understated and classy unlike the 10th gen, which while kinda cool looking is a little silly for an econobox. Love my 2024 sport hatch in rally red. Athletic, but very grown up.
I'll wait to see the midlife refresh Accord for 2026 & 27 I'm expecting Honda to change up the Accord like back in 2006-07. Vs 03 to 05 where the rear is completely different.
Thank you for the direct comparison of these cars. My only complaint/critique is that I would have loved to see how well a large suitcase fits in the trunk space. Most cars fit a carry-on or two, but my wife and I use the bigger ones when we travel.
Honestly neither. 30-33K is too much for a civic IMO. I'd rather get an XLE Camry for 35K. Supposedly the new Camry is ultra refined and Lexus ES-esque. Civic is super nice buy you can't get any hybrid model for 30K OTD. Yes the Elantra and Corolla are cheaper feeling cars but they offer most of the tech and their hybrids costs thousands less.
i cant decide between the accord or the CRV i was thinking at first to get the civic sport touring but the price is close to that of an Accord loved the accord the feel and everything but the price is far closer to that of a CRV my issue with the CRV tho is that it does not come with a spare . I really like the crv but worried about a CVT transmission as i use to have a sentra that failed me due to this reason. Can i ask ur advice i love crv cus of the room and the sound (music ) but i dont know much about transmission also what can one do if they dont have a spare tire. i want to get a CRV hybrid touring what is the difference between that of a HRV also how much does each car take to fill up ????? as u can tell i need a bit of guidenss

@@jjacob25101 it's more than adequate. Great little SUV for my winter commute as well as taking my son to school.
The engine power is more than adequate I promise.
Great reaction thank you
I have the accord touring and it pisses me off that the ventilated seats are literally only for the seat, not the back. Literally the only reason I got a touring. It’s gets extremely hot with leather seats here in socal
Plus it's only ventilation not actually cooling (A/C).
I love my 2025 Honda Civic Rally Red❤️
Cars are growing in general so if you haven't driven a "compact" in a few years you might be surprised that they are about the size of a mid-size from 10 or 15 years ago. I would values the smaller size of the civic since I usually drive alone or with 1 other person (although 3 or 4 is hardly cramped for an 1 hour or so). Smaller = easier to park and better mpg.
how is your Sentra doing? still working?
@@johnkonde1975 No issues so far, still a nice car. Several road trps.
@@ccroy2001 glad to hear that
Of course accord is on top between the two. Accord is more expensive than the Civic. This is a no brainer review and comparison.
The accord is the same price as the civic touring, also dealers selling the civic touring for 33k not 31k
The Civic is definitely in a class of its own. What chance does Toyota have to compete with it when the Accord fails. Maybe the new Camry is a better competitor especially if you consider Honda pricing.
Very informative. Thank you.
Last year, my gf survived a car crash on the passenger side due to the 2010 honda Accord safety features.
Excellent comparison as always!
I have the civic sport and love the way in handles in the mountains in sport mode
You did a great job in the comparison, however I have a 2018 Touring and one of my grips is the road noise. If you add to this excellent view a more detailed road noise comparison that would be great. COMPAIR both city and high way. Roger of Orlando
I got my Civic sport touring hatchback on MSRP, so it looks like I got the best choice.
Ewww.. honda needs to be better than Toyota in terms of styling.. new generation Camry interior sucks as usual
@@harrytejit's definitely a step up from last year's.
Really..you have the 2025 Civic??
Well the Camry V6 is gone when the last generation ends production
Honda opted out of spare tires to save money as the batteries are under the seats
Accord is too large/bulky for my taste these days, so Civic IMO. Same thing goes for Camry vs Corolla. I would select a new Mazda3 sedan over them all though. Personal preference.
I think the Civic is the best choice! It is such an attractive and affordable vehicle in my opinion.
Good video. It would've been better if you had taken a price point ($32k) and compared the respective variants at that price point.
On price, fuel economy, and sporty driving dynamics, The Civic Delivers the best option...
Civic all day long for me, but both are great.
Next do a comparison video of closely priced Civic Sport Hybrid vs Camry LE and/or Civic Sport Touring Hybrid to a Camry SE equipped to as close as possible to the same MSRP.
Many people shop by price and not only by size class.
The Accord is a much better choice.
It’s NICE HONDA CIVIC HYBRID VS ELATRA HYBRID
According to EXL gets basically the same fuel economy, only a couple thousand dollars more. I think that would be a better comparison
@@CarConfections thanks for the thorough explanation!!👍🏾
Honda is pinching pennies in all the wrong areas!
I’m In the minority but this new accord grew on me so much I love it 😍… I do wish they kept the 2.0t tho
Same here. Love the minimalist design. It does NOT scream…look at me now im in desperate need of attention
@@cindymiller2748 yes … weird but that’s what draws me to it
When the civic hatch hybrid came out it would be the best middle ground.
They need to offer smaller wheels on the top trims to maximize efficiency. Accord is always worth it over Civic in space alone
@@webcomment8895that’s doing too much for an oil change lmao
Can you comment about the overall comfort? The reason why I prefer midsize sedan is the ride quality. I guess my question is would you miss driving an accord if you’re in a cockpit of a civic regardless of the size.
I just wish the Accord had 50 more horsepower.
If the Accord were to be quieter, it'd be a great deal
Love your car video
I wonder if Accord gets a 2025 front end refresh and hopefully a plug in model that gets around 300 hp. That should finish off the controversy.
No, Honda has NEVER done any kind of refresh on a model that’s only been out for 2 years (2023). At the 3 year mark, maybe
Actually civic looks better
I feel like Honda targets boring people to buy their cars I want to like Honda but I feel like the designs of their cars and SUVs are so basic. Don't get me wrong they are great cars to drive (at least 80% of them) but why can't they be nice to look at too? Inside and out.
"Boring"....no, it's understated and classy unlike the 10th gen, which while kinda cool looking is a little silly for an econobox. Love my 2024 sport hatch in rally red. Athletic, but very grown up.
Size plays a difference. I’m 6 05 and barely fit in civic. Accord far more comfortable (and Camry even more so).
I'll wait to see the midlife refresh Accord for 2026 & 27 I'm expecting Honda to change up the Accord like back in 2006-07. Vs 03 to 05 where the rear is completely different.
The things i would do for an Accord Wagon
Thank you for the direct comparison of these cars. My only complaint/critique is that I would have loved to see how well a large suitcase fits in the trunk space. Most cars fit a carry-on or two, but my wife and I use the bigger ones when we travel.
Meanwhile in the UK where we can only get the Civic hatchback starting at over £30k…
I like your review though thank you very much
Should I wait for accord 2025? What do you think off would be for accord ?
whats the 0-60 for the 2025 Accord Hybrid and the 2025 Civic hybrid?
Honestly neither. 30-33K is too much for a civic IMO. I'd rather get an XLE Camry for 35K. Supposedly the new Camry is ultra refined and Lexus ES-esque. Civic is super nice buy you can't get any hybrid model for 30K OTD. Yes the Elantra and Corolla are cheaper feeling cars but they offer most of the tech and their hybrids costs thousands less.
The accord touring has lower lumbar support adjustment in its seats and HUD. I dont think the civic has that.
i cant decide between the accord or the CRV i was thinking at first to get the civic sport touring but the price is close to that of an Accord loved the accord the feel and everything but the price is far closer to that of a CRV my issue with the CRV tho is that it does not come with a spare .
Oh damn. I remember I bought a 2014 exl v6 accord coupe for 28k (2k below msrp) back then. These cars are way overpriced now.
I like to get my front wheels off the ground with my hemi. I don't need Google. Ha ha spiffy ha ha great review thank you
You know, I actually enjoy watching your videos, but just as I started watching this one, it occurred to me that I would not be buying either of these vehicles, as I refuse to pay more just to pay more. So I stopped watching, knowing that it was unfair to you two since you have no say in pricing vehicles. I am sure I will come back to finish up when I am just sitting around at 2 in the morning. Always well-done reviews.
I'll take the civic even though paying 30k for a civic is crazy and don't like the style of the accord
How is your CRI scale measured? Higher number is better? Or lower number is better?
Lower is better (less problems per 100 vehicles)
wish theyre both awd
I just want the hatch from the civic, but that screen size
I can’t thank you enough for this video. Civic is better for me. If I go non-hybrid it would be a Subaru Legacy. However, I’m not sure I want to go non-hybrid for the planet 🌍! Agh 🥴 😅
Glad to help!
I feel like the accords are for adults and the civics are for young kids. I wish the accord had a hatchback.
When exactly would they get the Civic Hatchback Hybrid to North America? Why doesn't Honda get it? Are the other brands insecure that no one would buy anything else if this existed???
