I would say, sadly for us, that he deserves it. I mean, consider the time that this guy has put into his craft over his entire life. When you consider the ticket prices for shows to see some of the hacks out there, I have to say that JB deserves whatever he gets.
Then I suggest that you buy a guitar and start shedding. Then you can play with him onstage. Otherwise, I think the days of him being an obscure, hidden gem...are over. The secret is out.
To me the most impressive thing about this amazing performance is how a simple tempo change transformed a relatively pedestrian song into such an emotional and moving experience...
I had the thought that if the good lord plays guitar it might sound something like this Joe's technique is perfection and his oneness with the instrument is a thing to behold.
I saw Joe and the boys in Nashville, Tennessee. Definitely the best live show I have ever seen. I am 69 years old and saw greats like the Stones, the Who and many more. Just amazed at Joe and his speed and persision. Thanks for allowing me to share. Love Joe and Beth especially.
One of the greatest 'living' guitars. A national treasure. (IMHO) Doesn't over play, near perfection in his feeling and phrasing. About as GREAT as it gets! I'd be proud to OWN his worst mistakes. (if you can find any.)
Yes, what I said. Doesn't 'over play'. (doesn't mean he doesn't play fast scales at times.) Just enough at the right times. Total command of the fret board. If you know his music, you KNOW he plays tastefully. His command of the board are "guitar genius". He's HUGE in Europe and getting bigger in the states. (as he should be) That's proof enough he's "Gold". THIS...IMHO. You have the right to disagree. (but...you would be wrong! ;-)
cowboy7x lol, why would i be wrong? it´s a matter of taste man, and btw i like this guy he is really good. about what you said, i hate that if a musician is really good at what he does they are considered "shreders without soul" try to listen to John Petrucci for example, things as beautiful as the best of times solo, state of grace, octavarium´s final solo etc, and things as crazy as fatal tragedy, under a glass moon, etc. and you know what? shredding or not, his music is always expressing something great. (but you would consider it as "overplay") i mean paganini and beethoven where shredders gdi, and their music is beautiful.
Brotha, I think you're right on! I wouldn't consider that over play with the above mentioned musicians. All, are awesome in their own right. And I agree, (as with anyone/everyone playing or listening) it's a matter of taste. We are blessed to have so many walking among us. (Just wish I was one of them, Ha!)
An amazing talent. His Vienna Opera House concert is one of the most daring and rewarding shows I've ever seen. Have tickets to see him this November...counting the days!
just got that meet and great to show of your choice package on his website, gong to see him at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, I marked it in my calendar and marked three weeks before with countdowns haha!
How am I just finding this amazing gift just now in 2019? Walked in to a dive bar today from my past. Heard this playing . Of course I was still known at the bar and saw many faces I recognized. This magnificent piece put everything into perspective.
Absolutely phenomenal artist and complete class act. His guitars sing like no other I've heard...that says a lot from me. Soul impacting, face melting.
I have five of his albums now , and Royal Albert Hall is my favorite...but then, Joe don't do bad music....My favorite artist, and possibly the greatest guitarist of all time.
This has been my favourite song for the last years. Can never have enough of it. Especially this version at the Royal Albert Hall. Everyday on my way to and from work!
Great soulful voice and what a guitar master. Have watched the blu-ray of this concert many times..never get tired of it. Makes me happy for his success. Wow.
3 thumbs down?? these three people must be out of their minds! great tune! I am a guitar teacher..This is a great tune to teach fairly new students...The chords of course...not the lead...haha.
Fantastic song by excellent musician . That being said I wish they would've gotten the audio & visual that half second closer ! Perhaps I was the only one to notice .
I just go into a trance listening to this unbelievable performance.....
After losing the love of my life ...in a state of losing hope on pbs I found Joe & his love for music. Thank you Joe for the sound from the heart.
Epic performance of an incredible tune. I just discovered this man's music in 2015.
Man, where in the hell have I been?
+Tom B I know! Me too
+Tom B me too :-D but were lucky we found it ;-)
I know right? I just found out about him as well.

Yes! Brill. Although would never call this a pedestrian song...takes me into a mountain time place of my own.
Sometimes it's executing the simplest things well that require careful approach to stay in the "Zone". That comunicate the deepest.
PEDESTRIAN ?....NO

captain mellow Thats JB talent channelled through a quarter mill vintage guitar and a pair of $65,000 vintage tweeds, perfect combo
I have five of his albums now , and Royal Albert Hall is my favorite...but then, Joe don't do bad music....My favorite artist, and possibly the greatest guitarist of all time.
+Jack Nail Try Joe B at Rockpalast. I think these two concerts are his best ever, and in fact two of the Best in R'n'Roll - Blues rock history.
+mydogspet Thanks pet...been there...Done that...Joe's the Bomb
Jack Nail Indeed. Pain and Sorrow is one of my faves - the studio version.
This has been my favourite song for the last years. Can never have enough of it. Especially this version at the Royal Albert Hall. Everyday on my way to and from work!
How can this ONLY have 163,000 views in 5 yrs?
One of the greatest solos ever. I've listened to this version over and over for five years and I never get tired of it.
THE best guitarist to come along in a very long time. A prodigy. Brilliant. He's very easy on the eyes too.
His music, his voice comes to my soul like a big warm hug, and at the same time gives me strong emotions.... His unique, his my favorite... :)
Brilliant! He has more feeling and emotions in his songs. Just amazing :)
That intro gives me chills
When I listen to his music, I might as well hang a sign on my head that says "No one home". It just takes me to a good place and time.
All Bros Live at Fillmore East used to be my fave live album........till this
Great soulful voice and what a guitar master. Have watched the blu-ray of this concert many times..never get tired of it. Makes me happy for his success. Wow.
