- Learn how to make the best Crispy Tofu with this easy and yummy recipe! This oven-baked tofu is perfectly crispy and goes with just about anything savory - curry, grain bowls, stir-frys, and more!
I like to use nutritional yeast instead of cornstarch to coat my tofu because it adds a LOT of umami flavor. Cornstarch or arrowroot powder will work too but the final texture is more starchy. Made with only 3 ingredients, this Tofu is Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Oil-Free.

Finally, a crispy tofu recipe without corn starch, not that i have anything against corn starch lol
You shouldn't eat cornstarch because it's listed on the official page of what vegans are not allowed to eat .... Cornstarch is a living creature !!
@@RandomRabbit007whaaa???
@@RandomRabbit007 please explain this information!
@harmansg lmao bye
@@RandomRabbit007be serious 💀
Happy to find a recipe that does NOT use oil! TY!!
Airfry
came here to comment exactly this😻
What temperature to bake?
Nutritional yeast is a great addition.
High in B vitamins, vital to help handle stress & fiber & protein too with a nutty buttery flavor. Great on popcorn
& mixed into sauces too. ❤🌠
But will the yeast have the nutrition after it is baked at a very high temperature?
@SeriousBartYT The great thing about nutritional yeast is it doesn't lose its nutrients when cooked.
In fact, its vitamins, minerals, flavor & aroma can all withstand heat. Vitamin B12, in particular can survive high temperatures. ❤️🌠
This is the recipe that converted me to tofu lover lol
I made them and they’re delicious with Polynesian sauce. I added garlic powder to the nutritional yeast 👍
Omg I’ve never found this recipe but I’ve totally eaten this at restaurants. TY❤
You guys, this is seriously so delicious. Must try!
It's soo crazy I started following frommybowl literally nearly 7 years ago back in the smoothie bowl days ❤
I froze an extra firm tofu and pressed any excess water, but after cooking it came out very dry, like croutons. Still good, but hard to chew. I'll probably try not freezing it next time...
Yum! So easy and healthy.. I'm eating nutrional yeast at the moment so this is perfect for me thanks
Holy crap! Just made these! Exactly the crunch I’ve been missing. There’s fried chicken in my house rn and I’ve been so close to jsut eating a couple of pieces and this completely satisfied the crunch factor. I’m new to wfpb kinda and I’ve noticed that crunch is missing in alot of dishes.
TIP: if you make the pieces kinda scraggly (almsot like a half smashed) with the texture it makes it even more crunchy crispy. Just had some with ketchup and it tasted like chicken nuggets. I also added onion powder. Thanks for this!
Can you air fry these any idea of time and temp ??
@@guppy0536 I put them in my toaster oven and I have an air fry option. I don’t see why you couldn’t air fry them. I put mine between 425-450 for like 45-50 depending on how crunchy I want them.
There is a link to the written recipe in the description. You find the description by clicking on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner.
lol. Thank you babe
Hahah thank you for telling me about the three dots and description!!!! I have never known this and always wondered why people say they described it but can’t find it in comments or under their hashtags! Lol you are the first to tell me where to find that!!!! I thought they were just getting deleted and censored haha❤
@@jessijames2384with shorts you can also just tip long enough on the video so the info box comes up 😉
You Rock! Thank You. ❤🌠
There’s no info at the link like bake it for how many degrees and for how long😢
Love these videos! Thank you for the easy to follow instructions 😊
This was soooo simple!!
Thanks a lot for your recepices dear Caitlin 🌺💕🌺💕🌺💕🌺💕🌺💕🌺💕🌺
Finally made it!! It doesn’t look like yours but it was SO GOOD!! TY
Thanks for sharing your recipe, it looks delicious
I don't even know how many people I've shared this recipe with over the years. This is my go to for introducing folks to tofu
Loooks simple and delicious just how I like my tofu… I need to buy more nooch and this is a must try. High in protein also
I’ve made this multiple times and it’s so good (and mine don’t even turn out this nice haha). I could eat a whole pan worth!
Can't wait to try this. Thank you.
This is my favorite too!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I needed this! Thank you so much, this will go so well with my salads!
Sounds Delicious with some Avocado 😍
This the goat tofu recipe fr
soo goood💚
This is how my mom made it growing up except she made it on the stove top. It's so good
Ty So Much! I have been using cornstarch, which works great, but this is an Excellent way to use Nut since I have so much of it!
Love it ❤
Mine never this crispy, but still very delicious
Tofu is great for women who are Premenopausal/Menopausal (estrogen).
Where’s the pan from
NICE 😊
So could this same method be done to make "patties"? Sometimes I just want a crispy sandwich.
could you use liquid aminos instead or tamari/soy sauce?
yes!
What is the 3rd ingredient?
How do you store this?
I usually cant find nutritional yeast easily, can you suggest some usa/Canadian stores where I can find it?
Amazon
Bulk Barn or any bulk food store
trader joes
In Toronto I get them in the organic/health section at No Frills, Loblaws and FreshCo. Prob will be at WholeFoods as well. And there’s a health store at Bathurst and Bloor that has it.
Will it be crispy if i marinate the tofu. I dont want to waste a block finding out lol
can you do this with extra firm silken tofu?
What temp and how long?
Full details are on my blog
@@CaitlinShoemaker girl if you dont just tell us , making me do all this damn work to find it
@@Samayahhhhwent to look and have no idea what's called then internet fizzled out 3am good thing not wanting it right now 😂
@@CaitlinShoemaker🙄
How long did people put it in the oven for? Mine doesn't seem as crunchy or brown as the video
Looks yummy!
Press the tofu until it’s as dry as the driest dry of dry then press some more
I am not vegan and I like tofu!
Tahu sumedang wanjir
what is nutritional yeast?
The nutritional yeast isn't coating/ sticking very well to the tofu 😣
Where is the baking sheet from?! Such a cute design x
What is the powder sprinkled in the tofu?
I would like to know too
Nutritional yeast, did either of you watch or listen?
you need only an air fryer
Wa can’t make cause of the nutritional yeast, I got the gout- looks yummy though I’m jelly!
Just substitute that with corn starch, flour, or potato starch, if you're ok to consume any of those. What would you coat or bread something with in cooking for your normal diet?
That looks dry and it'll knock out someone tooth.
Soia e zenzero ..??????
That looks good but are they better than chicken nugs💀
Can you please tell me what the best way to press the tofu is without having a tofu press? Thanks🎉😉
Cut tofu block in half wrap in a clean towel n put a cast iron pan on top of towel or heavy hooks on top of a cutting board on top of towel up to 45 min
flip all the cubes halfway through? Excuse me? no ma'am
Hard to chew! 😢
Third ingredient?
Nutritional Yeast
1.)tofu
2.) tamari sauce
3.) NUTRITIONAL YEAST.
Pfff you talk to fast 😅.. i can not understand
Can I use an Air Fryer to get same result?
Yes, and easier
What the heck is traditional yeast?
lmao nutritional yeast
But where the msg at ?!?
Just toss some in no one will know 😅
Blog? Ok. So just google another video. Why keep the most basic info to get people on your blog.
I'd rather spend 7 years in a federal prison than live them as a vegan.
Congrats
then, do us a favor and go away...
🤢
Technically you can stop making it
And still feels like eating rubber with some flavor, the flavor needs to come from with in, not cover with. Back to the drawing board
Poke more holes or tear it ?? Maybe let it soak a bit ??
