      @@Nachtelfin0des0Todes yeah, I agree with the description of twaróg here. What I can add is that since it's dry at first, adding just a tad of milk and sugar and mixing it with a fork always gave much more creamy texture which was perfect for rolled pancakes (naleśniki) or pasta with strawberries. It was always a definition of comfort food for me. Being mostly vegan now, I found out that the best v replacement for it is tofu made by boiling soy milk with lemon juice, straining it just like real cheese and then seasoning it for your liking with some plant-based cream. And also that's exactly what I use to make my v cheesecakes, too :)

    Cranberry would be a nice name for the plant, for two reasons:
    1- Color
    2- the music group "The Cranberries", who got a big boost in popularity back in the day for the song "Zombie". Which you described your plant as
    Bonus points because it gives you an excuse to sing it on the video hehe

  • @IDontWantThisStupidHandle
    @IDontWantThisStupidHandle Год назад +15

    For the pizza dough, I think the main culprit (along with it not being blended) is that there is no fat in the dough. Adding just a bit of oil to the dough will (likely) improve the crust by a mile.
    Also, there's no leavening agent either (I don't think tofu causes great rise). If you added some yeast or baking powder, I think it would be a lot better. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but it looks and sounds like a glorified cracker, instead of a crust. If you like thin, crispy crusts, that shouldn't be a problem, though.

    So in Poland, there is this dish called Pierogi Leniwe, a mixture of twarog, which is like curdled fresh cheese, eggs, and flour. It was always eaten with butter, sugar and cinnamon in my household. When I became vegan, I missed it terribly, so I veganised it- you simply mix tofu, flour and a bit of potato starch, then roll it into logs, cut it diagonally and boil it in salted water. Then pour melted vegan butter, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over it and devour. One of most comforting foods

    I have a recipe for the best crispy tofu "chicken" bites! I've been wanting to get this out to the world but my kitchen lighting makes food look horible so I can't make a good video. It's a couple day's process but is so worth it! They're juicy and have a nice crispy chicken skin on them. I have batches going in constant rotation in my house
    1. Press a firm block of tofu overnight. I use my tofu press, but if you don't have one just press it for a long time, it'll still be good. Firm is better than extra firm for this
    2. Cut the block of tofu into 5 strips. Cut it short ways rather than long ways so you have the thick strips
    3. Air fry the strips at 400F for 15 minutes. While they're cooking make some vegan chicken broth. I've tried Asian mart powder, better than bullion, and homemade broth and it's all good. Make it more concentrated and a bit saltier than usual
    4. Cut the tofu strips into 4ths after they cook. Submerge them in the broth and put it all in the freezer until they're frozen solid
    5. Thaw. Once thawed you can strain the broth for another batch or another recipe. Then put the tofu pieces in the air fryer at 400F for about 2-3 minutes.
    Now you'll have the best damn tofu chicken bites. I eat mine with a vegan mock chick fil a sauce and it's my favorite snack ever 😊

    ETA had an idea, used the lemon tofu (1 box), defrosted 1c frozen sweet corn under hot water in the sink, 2c flour (needed more but I ran out, lol) Old Bay seasoning, minced dried onion, dried garlic, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, black pepper, dried celery leaf, white pepper- mixed, rolled, cut, drizzled w oo & another sprinkle of Old Bay, toss to coat, 380° in the air fryer, in single layer batches, for 10-12m, turning after first 5m.
    Then I made a dipping sauce from veganaise, pickle juice to thin, minced dill pickle, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, white pepper, whisper of thyme. It was 🔥🔥🔥!!

    I love the purple shamrock!! She is beautiful!! I humbly submit the name Grace. She is the embodiment of "Grace under pressure". She is beauty, she is Grace.
