    So it's safe to wear a hat or skullcap but what about headwraps like a durag, specifically? A day after treatment, can I wear that?

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  3 года назад +1

      Hi and thank you for the great question. We say ok to wear hats or the like, but for the first few days to use only if necessary.
      Essentially, we want your skin to breathe and nothing constricting on the head. In addition, garment should be clean and sterile.
      So, ok to wear briefly in most cases. Talk to your artist for a custom response, it’s important to consider each individuals situation.

    Hi guys - love your videos and your treatment looks great Joe!
    Was just wondering what you think of applying vaseline for a few days after the treatment? My practitioner recommends it. Have the third (likely last) session in a few days so appreciate a quick response!
    My Skalp is a bit oily in general and does not need to be moisturized to not become dry as far as I can see. Did use vaseline the previous 2 sessions but saw some other practitioners say that it is detrimental because it does not allow the treatment to "breathe"

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  3 года назад +1

      That is certainly a case by case basis. Typically we do not recommend Vaseline or the like for someone with oily skin, but it’s all about what’s going on. We always like to let it heal naturally.

    How many days after the treatment should I wash it first and should I moisturize it after?
    And is it possible that you "loose" pigments through to too early washing because of the little wounds might not being closed yet?

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  3 года назад +4

      We wash day of and everyday after treatment. Moisturizer is utilized only in case by case basis.
      There is no chance losing any pigment from washing because of open pockets or wounds. The skin closes immediately.

    Is it normal for there to be some darker blotchy areas during healing? Almost as if there's some small areas where it looks like a light shade of the ink is seeping around each dot?

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  Год назад

      Without photos, it is hard to dial in.
      That sounds like the artist went too deep in each dot if there is shade or a shadow around the dot. If that's the case, only laser will remove the blotches.
      Well wishes, hope that helps.

    Hi, quick question about long term aftercare, can you use salicylic acid (BHA) on your scalp after SMP as an exfoliation product, as i use it in my daily skincare routine right now and it really help with removing dead skin cells.
    I read that AHA acids like glycolic acid should be avoided, does the same apply to salicylic acid?
    Thanks for any answers

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  2 года назад

      Hello, you can use BHA once it’s healed. You can also use an exfoliant before shaving.

    Hi so I had my smp done over a year ago, and would like to ask a few questions about aftercare. firstly its very hard to find sun tan lotion without cetyl alcohol in it. even the children sun cream has this ingredient, is this fine to use once you have completely healed. also i have been using johnsons baby lotion to moisturise my scalp daily. there are types of alcohol in this product, so again once your smp has completely healed is it ok to use.

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  3 года назад

      Not at all. The factor that dictates trouble for smp is dry skin. If someone is creating dry skin via shaving, that’s a problem.

    Ya'lls videos always confuse me becuase you guys say the complete opposite (or at least very different) than pretty much 99% of everyone else lol.
    I am getting my treatment on October 8th, trying to learn about pre treatment (like what moisturizer to use etc) and what to buy for after. I was thinking about not being able to shave or wash for 5+ days and then I see this video.
    Haha super confusing. Anyhoo, appreciate the info. Is there a recommended moisturizer / anti-shine that you guys recommend? I know it's hard without seeing someone since it's case by case but just in general?
