If you have to add brake fluid or coolant, you may have a leak that needs to be fixed. Those don't just magically disappear on their own. Slightly low brake fluid can also be because the brake pads are wearing down and should be removed and visually inspected for each pad. They can wear unevenly, sometimes significantly, indicating some other problem is happening. The pad itself can come loose off the backing plate. You may have a stuck caliper piston causing uneven wear, or a stuck slider pin. A cursory inspection without removing the calipers will not always alert you to this.
Toyota had a problem with incorrect piston rings on some of their engines in the past. They use oil excessively. Do your homework before buying one with one of those engines.
