- Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Márquez III, billed as The 25th Round Begins, was a boxing championship bout for the WBO welterweight title. The bout took place on November 12, 2011, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada and was distributed by HBO PPV. The fight also marked a return to HBO for Pacquiao and drew 1.4 million pay-per-view buys.
These were real wars inside the ring, respect for both fighters. I don't think we'll ever get to see fights like this any time soon.
We'll see another fight like this if pac vs marquez 5 happens!!

I missed this era of boxing-no ducking, fewer trash talks, just pure excitement, and goosebumps from fight announcements, HBO 24/7 documentaries, fight weigh-ins to fight night. Even the training of the boxers, you were very updated. The atmosphere of the live audience during this era compared to today is very different. I miss boxing after Pacquiao's retirement; he is the last breed of classic boxing. Every round is worth a money.

As a Filipino i favor for pacman. But this should be a split, it was very close. Now on the 4th fight marquez finally got what he wanted and with an ending K.O too, can't help but to be amazed by that man.

That's kinda impressive for fighting one of the TOP 3 boxers of ALL TIME Manny. Add to it, he's the one who finished their Rivalry with win, not Manny.. Although Manny wins the 2 and I believe he also won on that draw with 3 knockouts, I wouldn't be mad if someone says Marquez BEAT pacquiao OVERALL cos the last fought between the rivalry is the one that matter the most, the one who stands last. That's why I have much respect to marquez, probably the only one who can beat manny fist to fist. Not mayweather, all he do is run.

I have an argument with my friend who’s a Pacquaio fan, he doesn’t like Marquez because he says rarely fought top fighters, I said not every champion is a freak like Pacquaio and can fight the best every single fight and have a long career. Marquez is one of the guys that fought a big name and then fought two or three contenders in between. That kind of durability that Pacquaio had was extremely rare in the sport.

It’s was Pac-Man mistake of attacking more aggressively thing to KO Marquez... Marquez is badly injured and could not move properly... If he was not more careful that match would be to Pac-Man in more clear fashion...

No I disagree. I think it is the same strength of punch, the thing is the awkward angle of pacquiao's position towards the counter punch is the reason he was out-cold by that. Marquez is very intelligent and skillful fighter, for me he can beat even Floyd if they are the same size. I am a filipino and here in the Philippines we recognized marquez as the rival of manny.

Actually, Manny has been hit with every kind of punch Marquez has. However, on their 4th fight, he was overconfident and that was his downfall. I wouldn't call it purely a 'lucky' punch. It was perfectly timed by Marquez. The lucky part of it was Manny had his guard down coz he thought Marquez was badly hurt which he was by the way but kept his composure.
Yeah Marquez accidentally stepped on his foot, but Manny's been stepped on (and vice versa) before, so that wasn't really the cause of the KO.
