Billed as the Battle of Brisbane Pacquiao vs Horn was a for the WBO welterweight championship. Horn won the fight by unanimous decision and claimed his first world title in boxing.
Week 4 of the Top Rank on ESPN summer series resumes when Jose Pedraza and Mikkel LesPierre will give it another shot. The junior welterweights will face off in the 10-round main event Thursday, July 2 from the MGM Grand Conference Center-Grand Ballroom. Pedraza-LesPierre was originally scheduled for June 18, but the bout was postponed after LesPierre’s manager tested positive for COVID-19.
The Pedraza vs LesPierre card will air on ESPN and ESPN Deportes beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

I watched it live, it was a terrible robbery. Pacquiao had Horn nearly all throughout the match and landing with the most shots. Outside of the review by WBO, numerous Sports analysts reviewed the fight and named Pacquiao as the winner, including Teddy Atlas and Dan Rafael. Also: "In total, 12 of 15 media outlets scored the bout for Pacquiao, 2 of 15 outlets ruled in favor of Horn and 1 scored a draw.[219]". Also notice how the ref didn't really go after Horn for the headbutts and elbows? This event was heavily promoted on international television as including and bringing Australia into the bigger stage of Boxing events. What better way than ruling in the favor of an Australian winning the title? The WBO, the ref, and the judges had the most to gain from this. Except everyone can see this decision was a terrible one, and did no favors in the long run for Australia and mainstream event Boxing.

i remember i watched this with my dad, and since i am half filipino, of course pacquiao is our favorite boxer. when we watched the decision at the end that horn won, we were both so confused and mad because neither of us could really see a way that horn won. i mean look at both their faces and the numbers and tell me that horn really won it’s actually crazy how much of a robbery this was

The sanctioning bodies don’t want old men with titles. Look at foreman vs Briggs. Foreman walked him down all night and had him holding on for dear life til the very end yet they gave it to the young power puncher Briggs. A loss like this will not in any way tarnish Manny’s reputation, it will only enhance it. Pound for pound, Manny is arguably the greatest fighter of all time. He lost a couple of fights due to dirty decisions (which is part of boxing). But at the end of the day, he is so well liked, respected, revered by many around the world, not only for his fighting ability, but also his outstanding characters - honest, clean and humble, whether in victory or defeat. When a left abd right hander fight there is often head clashes. Blaming one or the other only shows bias.

I remember this fight, the ref constantly allowed horn to hug and punch manny at the same time, allowed him to headbutt manny without any point deductions.

All i remember is at my friends house with like 10 of us. When the fight was over, i remember getting ready to leave. Putting my shoes on and right when they announced corn won we all stopped and dead ass screamed what at the tv😂😂

I don't remember but watch the round before the ko, Kov was going to stop him but they rang the bell 7 or so seconds before the bell should have rang. Often times I was wondering whether Jeff Horn knew what he was in for. Whether boxing or a wrestling match. Fair sportsmanship is always the valuable integrity of an athlete.

Manny won this fight. However, I have to admit Horn fought a great fight. He did everything he was supposed to do to try and beat the Pacman. He never let Manny get off a barrage of punches. Good foot work and head movement and countered nicely. But sill, Manny won in my book.

Interesting, I am a non partisan boxing fan. An Australian travelling in Asia. Judges being paid off was the thought that came to my mind, immediately after the fight. During the fight, I know 'hit & hold' is part of boxing but when a fighter relies on it to the detriment of the exhibition and keeps smothering his opponent, like Horn does "all" the time, it gets really boring to watch. Holding is wrestling. Not boxing. In a fight with a man as skilful with his fists as Pacman is, do the right thing and fight fairly. Fighters should be fined for using this technique too much like Horn.

The WBO re-scored the fight with five different judges, same result: Jeff Horn won.
