I went through a rollercoaster of emotions in the past 48 hours studying the lore. And what the devs always wanted to do with ciri, and even in the books, when I say "Ciro rejects the elder blood" people say it's not possible.. like man, it's in the books, shes not rejecting it in a way that " cancel it" she rejects it in a way that she don't want it. She was raised by the witchers, she thinks like a Witcher .. Gerald and yenefer never wanted this life for her.. but what people are missing is that Ciro is a rebel! She makes her own path. That's good writing man. They didn't make Ciri look like a man.. that's bs drama...if they really would've.ade Ciri brown, and with purple clothes and non binary bs, and having a line like white man suck or idk what these people say ...yeah, I would've had a big problem with that. There a million Stella blade/ anime gotcha games that exist if you want to only play as hot female protagonist. It was already accepted as canon that Cirin was a Witcher, not as a grass exam, but as a Witcher training, meaning that the other endings of the game are like showing the middle finger to the players. It pierces the lore of the 3 games. It doesn't matter to me how it looks when looked at logically, but what kind of story they will tell as a logical explanation. This is the part that worries me because they took the 3 games from the books and integrated them into the game, and the source is finished, this story will be presented entirely by the cdpr writers, there is no longer the core team that made the original Witcher 3.
The reason why Sapkowski soften up was because CDPR gave him another big bag of money after Netflix got rights to make a show. CDPR thought a show with Henry Cavil would take witcher to a new level, and they needed to patch up with Sapkowski so they could make witcher 4.
Ciri can't reject the blood as "elder blood" is just a saying... in reality it's just _her blood_ because they didn't use term "genetics". So no, she did not reject her powers as it would be only possibe through... dying. Just accept that CDPR doesn't give a f about the lore anymore, it's not THAT hard to admit it. She got a very sygnificant downgrade in power. Def deserved her own story in a DMC, Bayonetta style but CDPR had no balls to invest in such project and leave Witcher as it's supposed to be - with a male protagonist. It's a marketing decision and instead of finding NEW mythical audience they cut off half of the 50 milion sold by W3. It will be TLoU2 moment for the studio. All care that went into writing had to be thrown out the window just for an ideological reason - and that is "male and female are exactly the same". RPGs are not my type of games but I've heard so much about it so I just played witcher 3 on PS5 for the first time it took me 103 hrs to beat the game including the DLCs and I'm 100% sure that we will never get a game like witcher 3 in our lifetime again ❤

I can't judge you though, because I don't know how deep you are in the lore and how many times you read the books or if you even did.. again not here to judge .. but researching this topic ever since the trailer and it kind of starting to make sense to me . @@KDine0might it’s never stated in the books or games that women can’t be Witchers. And though it’s never said that they can be it is implied in both that it is possible. In the book Blood of Elves when Triss sees Ciri she refers to her initially as a Witcher girl and then takes note that Ciri had not yet undergone the trial of grasses. If it wasn’t even possible then why would she note that. In other books in relation to the trial it is stated that “children” had taken the trials, why not just say boys if they’re all boys. Additionally in TW3 main quest-line you have to put a cursed person referred to as Uma through the trial of grasses. While they do this they think it’s possible that Uma is Ciri and they speculate what Ciri would be like after she survives the trial of grasses. Eskel says something like Ciri could come out messed up, maybe unable to feel any emotions. We never see or hear of any female Witchers in the games or books so it was almost a collective thought that it was not possible. The games have already went away from the book canon allowing Yennefer and Geralt to continue their story as well as making numerous other changes and this doesn’t even feel like a change of you’ve read the books or know the lore.
@@rafegraves1453 I completely agree with you. The way I was looking at it was that it's known that statistically only 3 out of 10 children survived the trial of the Grasses. Since females/girls have more fragile body structure I presume the chance of survival might've been lower than with boys. Of course if they'd manage to survive the mutations and training into adulthood, even if they would be very formidable fighters indeed there's always the factor their bodies are biologically weaker. My point here is that even male witchers died at incredible rate so as much as it's not impossible for female witchers to be created I don't believe it was a favourable choice. Regarding the second point you made - I was thinking about the same thing. Given the huge risk no one in their right mind would undergo these trials by choice - death in agony being the best outcome in case of failure. The alternative could be far worse - A very common occurrence was they lost memories and ability to feel emotions after trials. That's why I always though that the reason they chose children was they could've been moulded by strict training and code. My point regarding this is - what was the reasoning behind Ciri's choice since she knew the immense risk of becoming a psychotic killing machine with no past memory therefore no direction whatsoever? Also the Wild Hunt has been defeated and her inborn abilities are way more powerful for slaying monsters (at least based on the game that is..) On the third point I have nothing to add - completely agree. (also forgive me for my english and long text)

Ciri can't reject the blood as "elder blood" is just a saying... in reality it's just _her blood_ because they didn't use term "genetics". So no, she did not reject her powers as it would be only possibe through... dying. Just accept that CDPR doesn't give a f about the lore anymore, it's not THAT hard to admit it. She got a very sygnificant downgrade in power.
Def deserved her own story in a DMC, Bayonetta style but CDPR had no balls to invest in such project and leave Witcher as it's supposed to be - with a male protagonist. It's a marketing decision and instead of finding NEW mythical audience they cut off half of the 50 milion sold by W3. It will be TLoU2 moment for the studio.
All care that went into writing had to be thrown out the window just for an ideological reason - and that is "male and female are exactly the same". It's nothing but a blabbering of a far lefty American Academia and you won't convince me that some wokies at the studio weren't making a constant push for Ciri to drink potions and being biological witcher just to apease someone's agenda

RPGs are not my type of games but I've heard so much about it so I just played witcher 3 on PS5 for the first time it took me 103 hrs to beat the game including the DLCs and I'm 100% sure that we will never get a game like witcher 3 in our lifetime again ❤

@@KDine0might it’s never stated in the books or games that women can’t be Witchers. And though it’s never said that they can be it is implied in both that it is possible. In the book Blood of Elves when Triss sees Ciri she refers to her initially as a Witcher girl and then takes note that Ciri had not yet undergone the trial of grasses. If it wasn’t even possible then why would she note that. In other books in relation to the trial it is stated that “children” had taken the trials, why not just say boys if they’re all boys.
Additionally in TW3 main quest-line you have to put a cursed person referred to as Uma through the trial of grasses. While they do this they think it’s possible that Uma is Ciri and they speculate what Ciri would be like after she survives the trial of grasses. Eskel says something like Ciri could come out messed up, maybe unable to feel any emotions.
We never see or hear of any female Witchers in the games or books so it was almost a collective thought that it was not possible. The games have already went away from the book canon allowing Yennefer and Geralt to continue their story as well as making numerous other changes and this doesn’t even feel like a change of you’ve read the books or know the lore.
@@rafegraves1453 I completely agree with you. The way I was looking at it was that it's known that statistically only 3 out of 10 children survived the trial of the Grasses. Since females/girls have more fragile body structure I presume the chance of survival might've been lower than with boys. Of course if they'd manage to survive the mutations and training into adulthood, even if they would be very formidable fighters indeed there's always the factor their bodies are biologically weaker. My point here is that even male witchers died at incredible rate so as much as it's not impossible for female witchers to be created I don't believe it was a favourable choice.
Regarding the second point you made - I was thinking about the same thing. Given the huge risk no one in their right mind would undergo these trials by choice - death in agony being the best outcome in case of failure. The alternative could be far worse - A very common occurrence was they lost memories and ability to feel emotions after trials. That's why I always though that the reason they chose children was they could've been moulded by strict training and code. My point regarding this is - what was the reasoning behind Ciri's choice since she knew the immense risk of becoming a psychotic killing machine with no past memory therefore no direction whatsoever? Also the Wild Hunt has been defeated and her inborn abilities are way more powerful for slaying monsters (at least based on the game that is..)

This game will be a massive hit! I watched and read for the past 48 hours. This is a 20 minute video looking deep at the lore and differences. Geralds story was concluded with the books and got an extra 3 games of story expansion... They milked Gerald dry. First time I played the game was in 2016 and all I was asking.. where is Ciri sequal and aaaa lot of people were asking .. btw ingot 60 more minutes of content on this topic.. the game is not gonna flop.. just like Spider-Man marvel cinematic univers is the best Spider-Man yet.. dispute people destroying Zendaya, calling Spider-Man woken, calling Zendaya black, trans , she looks like a boy... I dint think this game will be successful. It dunked on well established lore and turned Ciri into Geralt... aka a token.. a beautiful character with special abilities, then lessened her into Geralt lite.. a step down.

There's nothing wrong with women protagonists... I do have a problem with gender swapping though .. (mk1 chaos reigns comes to mind. Cyborg and Cyrax)
