Utterly fabulous ... wow. 💙 Anything at all from Leonard Cohen is fine by me! Love his music and its poetry - how he opens up your soul. RIP Leonard. 💕
Young lady, I am so happy that you were able to watch this video and listen to Leonard Cohens philosophical lyrics and melody - as well as musicians that take this many steps forward. I have listened to Leonard Cohen for more than 30 or 40 years, and I know that I will live forever because I will refuse to die before I "unpuzzled" all of his lyrics. This song is thankfully somewhat straight forward. However, having been in a leadership position for very many years in my professional live, I can honestly say that I had learned a lot from his video (i still regret that I never saw Mr. Cohen live in concert). The respect that he shows to each and every one of his awesome musicians, with his hat off and holding it to the chest, and bowing to each performer, should be the first lesson to any person that would ever be interested in a leadership position.
Wow, I’m glad to have you here. Oh yes, Leonard Cohen showed great respect to his musicians and that got me. I totally love his poetic lyrics. 🙏🏼thank you for engaging
Night comes on, The partisan, A street, Nevermind, Sisters of mercy, Tower of Song (live, London), Avalanche, Dance me to the end of love, Ballad of the absent mare, Happens to the heart, If it be your will, Suzanne, Famous blue raincoat, ...
Love seeing your reaction to this. It really gets me too. All the despair, and then we get one of my all time favorite choruses..."Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering...There's a crack, a crack...In EVERYTHING...That's how the light gets in"...Now matter how bad it may get, how utterly hopeless, there is a crack, that's how the light gets in. I don't think many are familiar with this but it has been one of my favorites since I first heard it years ago. Here is another of my favorites of his, from this same performance. It's a spoken word version of "A Thousand Kisses Deep" ruclips.net/video/JtsP8PEjdps/видео.html
C'est une chanson apaisante !... Elle fait du bien à l'âme !!! Cher Leonard, je pense à vous chaque jour... Si vous saviez dans quel état est le monde !... C'est TERRIBLE !!!
Thank you for such a good and personal reaction. You come across to me as a very beautiful person with love for others; so was Leonard. Leonard is a fellow Canadian that I have followed since the 70's first his books of poetry and then his music. I'm so old I only paid $8 back then for his first concert. He had such respect and love for everyone. You can see it in how he treats his band and the audience. I miss him even though he never knew me - I knew him
Thanks for your great emotional reaction to this deep Leonard Cohen song "Anthem". When I hear this, it also affects me emotionally. It also makes me think of the Bob Dylan song called Ring Them Bells. Please check it out. Take care.
I was about 20 rows from the stage at this brilliant concert. I'd seen him a few months earlier on the opening night of the tour when no one knew what to expect. This was in a fairly small theatre. We'd have been happy with 45 minutes of seeing the legend, instead we got nearly 3 hours of classic after classic. Shortly after the tour transferred to big arenas, which is where this was recorded. All in all, I saw him 7 times on this tour and it's still a highlight to remember. Anything and everything from 'Live in London' is spell binding.
I bought the DVD 'Live in London' and wound up playing it every day for a year and a half. I then bought a second DVD ( lest I wear out the first one) and lent the first out to some friends to include five librarians (four of whom thought it the best music they had ever heard). I agree. And I'm a Led Zeppelin/ Pink Floyd fan. Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada (Leonard's home-R.i.P.).
Thanks for the entertaining reaction. To add context, the extended ending of the song was so he could mention each member of the band before the mid-concert intermission. After being retired for some years, Cohen went back on tour again at age 74 in 2008, that tour lasted through the end of 2010 (when we saw him for the first time). Then he recorded a new album, toured again in 2012-2013, and recorded two more albums, the last one just before his death in 2016. Wish we could have seen him earlier in his career, but are thankful we got to see him when he un-retired. His concerts were almost like religious experiences, and long--usually approaching 3 hours. You might like to react to "Steer Your Way" from his last album, "You Want it Darker."
I saw him in Manchester twice in 2008 at the opera house then again at the Manchester arena. Then again in 2013, as well as at Glastonbury in 2008. 5 times in total, I was making up for some serious lost time.
Better late than never James! Our last concert was 7/9/13 in Lucca Italy, it was a magical performance in a magical place. To relive that experience we are visiting Lucca again later this month. RIP Leonard.@@JamesLMason
I've always been a bit of a background hanger-onner. I joined the Leonard Cohen Files back in 1998 but never got as far as participating in one of the meetups. I've got his 70th birthday postcard somewhere, stashed away.
LEONARD COHEN is a Canadian poet and songwriter. His song "Hallelujah" has been covered by close to 100 other artists. Along with many of his other great songs.

Theres so may ways to interpret this song. Theres an old Jewish Legend that at the beginning of time God’s light was held in ten holy vessels. But the vessels couldn’t hold the light and cracked. Billions of holy sparks were scattered about the universe so humanity was created, to gather the holy sparks which have been scattered across creation and to bring them into wholeness again. I think that’s something he references in the song. The fact that we don’t live in a perfect universe. But we are always striving for some kind of unattainable perfect state. We’re just banging our little broken drums and doing the will of the broken universe in our imperfect way.
Lovely reaction. I'd love to see a reaction to Leonard Cohen: It's Torn, or Kris Kristofferson Pilgrim Chapter 33. Either way, keep up the great work and good luck with the channel. Cheers
He wrote books of poetry, and songs for many artists and was a great influence on the artist, His portrait is on a building where he used to hang out. Have you heard of Halluya or Susan? something to look into. thanks

Our Canadian treasure; I once knew him as Lenny writing poetry in cafes in Montreal way back in the 1960's. We as a people miss him.
I love Leonard Cohen...all of the things he has ever done. He is such an amazing poet.
Exactly. His poetic skill is more than good. Thank you
I’ve seen Leonard twice in concert. Epic…
I wish I'd seen him. He played his last concert in my country, in the next city north of mine... and I didn't even know he came! Damn!
Everything about him is epic.
I was lucky enough to see him live, a few times. Absolutely wonderful experience evert time.

The MAN is brilliant........what can I say. Like not many, he got better and better as he grew old !
And that's the most important point. To always get better and better. I love his style
