I dig this version of the BB Preamp. It sounds less compressed and airy compared to the BB. I use it in conjunction with a tc electronic Tube Pilot. Stacking overdrives is another way to create unique sounds. It's a great Blues Breaker pedal for a mere pentance. Nice vid and playthrough.

Thanks! Yeah, this BB preamp version is good to use with different overdrive pedals, a nice way to fatten up the sound. I don't know the TC Electronic Tube Pilot, looks like a fun overdrive!

@@RudyBressers The TP gives a natural tube overdrive to any amp without coloring the sound. There's no tone knob on this one. What goes in is what comes out. The internal 12AX7 does a good job of driving a clean channel or a slightly dirty one. If you shop around you can find one fairly cheap. I got a demo model for $40 US shipped. Came with the box all the papers and not a scratch on it. Worth a try. Look forward to some more vids.

@@hotrodsgarage That's definitely a pedal to keep my eye on then. If I can find one for around that price I might be tempted to pick one up :). Thanks for the tip!

Hi! Did you use humbucker pickups in this video?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think these were P90s.

Thanks for the demo Rudy, nice playing, the riffs you played really highlighted this pedal well in my opinion, I think for such little money this Orange Burst is it has a really nice gritty gain and I think sounds great, it would definitely suited my playing and tunes I play with my band, I think you’ve just persuaded me to order one on Friday when I get paid, I have the Pure Sky already which I couldn’t be happier with for £20, I think the OB will sit nicely along side it and won’t cost me money I’ve not really got, just shows you there’s some great sounding, well made pedals out there that cost virtually nothing and if you work with the gear you have you can create some great guitar tones, that wouldn’t be noticeable by most that your playing budget pedals along side others who have paid at least £300 for one pedal and you can hardly tell the difference in tonal difference. Cheers all the best.

My pleasure, thanks for the compliment! Indeed it's a very nice and gritty sounding pedal that sounds more expensive than it actually is. A nice combo with the Pure Sky too.
I always try to find the sweet spot in price/performance. Paying 300 bucks for a boutique overdrive is not something I see myself doing. Paying 10 times as much for maybe 5% better sound is just not worth it in my humble opinion. When you play live (or record) you can get some great tones without breaking the bank, and nobody is going to hear any difference. Might not look as cool as some of the artwork on very expensive pedals, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice ;).

Just popped in to say that, the last half of the paragraph, I couldn't word much better than this. Making due with what you have to create amazing, unique tones and sounds is one key to being a great musician.
