Peace, Dame. One thing that I was speaking to my engineer friends about was the fact that we weren't using many plugins on mixes and our beginner mixes were great. The intermediate level of mixing is always the worst because we feel like we gotta use 100 plugins to get something to sound good. This video is a great example that simplicity will always be a priority in making music sound great. Thanks for sharing your history.
This is golden content right here !!And you showing the people how an official song layout should look !! aye yall play close attention!!! Gems all in this video
That was crazy! Thanks for sharing. I interned in a studio in the early 2000's that had t just upgraded to a ProTools setup. This brought back some memories....
Wish I would of cought this live stream I got a lot going on with the family and life so I ain’t really been able to check in, but as always it’s very inspiring and you actually got me rethinking my approach to music so thank you for that. I’m not to old to learn from someone younger and more skilled I’m gonna be a humble olehead and say thanks for teaching the old dog new trix!
The sound font game is sick! And that plug-ins game is what it is meant to be, so what ever you put on them joints sound good no matter and that beat is not terrible it's magic 💪💯
I feel you. I posted the part one of my first beats from 2001 on the MPC 2000xl last week and part two today. So many bangers and we all used to do everything.
I get the exporting, back in day even working in bedroom with 2000xl, I always had to dump to my VS-880 snd save to Zip drives, the memory restrictions just made it that way, didn’t even see it as inconvenience, just was norm, and I would “perform” them into the recording too, actually vibing n doing drops n all in real time, kinda miss it to be honest, I never get that same feeling erasing blocks from a screen lol

I know many producers who would not dare share a session from 2006 much props
First beat = Sonny Came Home - Shawn Colvin.

Did you use an Apogee Rosetta & Big Ben word cloc_ks to convert the audio from analog to digital?
Mpc has natural saturation though so you ain’t need no compression

You got heat. You sure don't have a signature sound. You ever think that works against us as producers, since the game wants cookie cutter material.
