- This week Amazfit released two new watches both of which are geared towards runners. The Amazfit Cheetah and this the Amazfit Cheetah Pro. Today we're taking a first look at the Cheetah Pro.

I’ve been wondering about this one. I have the T-Rex 2 Ultra and it’s great. It’s spot on with my Garmin and Suunto. I did a long trail run yesterday up in the mountains, lots of tree cover, switch backs and turns and in the end it was just as accurate as my Garmin and Suunto is. I love the vibrant screen and watch face selection. As for HR, never been a huge HR guy so as long as it gives me at least a rough estimate then I’m happy. Which is does. I’ve also found that the step count with the T-Rex2Ultra is more accurate than my Garmin. Imagine that 🤷🏻♂️.
Amazfit is definitely innovating & improving quickly and I like it.

I just purchased the Cheetah Fit Pro. I am coming from a Samsung Watch 4. The Pro was on sale last week on Amazon for $269. It is allowing me to hook up an external HR strap so that is not an issue. The battey life is amazing. Screen is good. Ability to set up custom HR alerts is perfect for a beginner runner looking to do MAF or low heart rate. Also allows for calibration of treadmill which my Samsung did not. And all for $269

Great review as always Matt. I have to agree that at the $300 price point, they are just starting to play with the big boys and probably undermining their own unique selling point - which surely was the value for money their earlier devices offered.
There’s a lot of competition at $300 and it ends up making tricky to recommend. By the way, I enjoyed your kickr fan review. I’ve been more and more willing to invest in indoor cycling equipment as of late. I haven’t made this purchase . . . Yet. 🤔
Interesting review and amazing editing! It looks like the watch that makes Amazfit T-Rex 2 better. I wonder if they're going to go on with the T-Rex line or if Cheetah is replacing it
I think the Cheetah is going to be aimed at runners and the T-Rex towards outdoor general use but it’s tricky because the operating system is pretty much the same. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

The titanium? I don't have one. It looks gorgeous but I don't know if I'll have one available to review any time soon. I did review the Ignite 3 about half a year ago.

I think the selling point of that watch is the offline mapping. Only Coros does that (if at all) at this price range already. Garmin still keeps it to their top watches only.

Great video as always. Testing the base Cheetah now. I would say that is an easier recommend than the pro. I’ve managed to get the AI coach to work after several tries. TLDR is needs work…

Nice review of the Cheetah Pro. I was thinking of buying this wearable. How is the heart-rate accuracy any spikes while working out?
I actually had good results. There are spots that it clearly mixed up but overall it’s the best data I’ve seen from Amazfit. Your mileage may vary. 😆

When you guys say that there is a lot of competition at 300 price point, what watches are you referring to? I am looking for a watch that can track my runs and have a nice touch screen display for when I am not running, ant it seems that the only competitors it has are the Amazifit GTR4 and the Forerunner 265. The first is anothrr Amazfit (is it better or worse thatn the Cheetah Pro?) And the second costs much more here in UK. What do you think guys? Could you help with my decision?
I guess I wasn’t limiting things to touchscreen only devices but I would highly recommend the FR 265 if you want extremely accurate data. Otherwise this cheetah Pro is a great option. I am about to buy the Amazfit Cheetah Pro because of its screen, dimensions and other qualities, but I would like to know your opinion in comparison to the Garmin Forerunner 255 or the Coros Pacer 3. I am interested in whether the GPS and heart rate are as accurate as the Garmin . Thanks
I’ve found the 255 to be the most accurate out of those three watches. You might go with the Cheeta Pro and use an external HR monitor when you really need accuracy.
i ve just bought the cheetah pro...it sounds amazing..i d like to ask how to fix/see the "virtual pacer menu" in "trail running" & "cycling"?? i dont see any similar menu as in the "outdoor running", "track run". Thanks a lot!

Any updates on how you like the watch? Did any software changes make the HR tracking/sleep/workout more accurate?

This seems like a more expensive GTR 4 tbh. Same functions, but a higher price point and an older generation heart rate sensor.
Good call Boz! It really does in a lot of ways. They've changed the strap and added the titanium bezel but it does seem very similar to a GTR4. Hi Matt! This one, the Suunto 5 Peak (149€) or The Polar Pacer (160€)? Overall for
swimming (arround 250Km at year in open water), walking and cycling.
I haven’t tested the Suunto so I don’t know. Sorry Neletg. I did make a best open water swimming watch video that might be worth checking out. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks Matt, I saw the video, fantastic by the way, and the Pacer look to work OK in open water swimming. Like the Suunto because I don't like bulky watches, but I can't find a good open water test of it.

Just sold my Amazfit GTR 4. Been using it for 6 month but I think I will never buy amazfit again. Watch is great as well as battery life but the only downside and reason why I sold it is zepp app... When you pair the watch you have to do it twice(separate for phone calls) and it keeps disconnecting. I had to reconnect it several times during the day manually.... Kept missing many phone calls as watch didn't let me know someone is ringing. Only send you a text you missed the call 🤷
That's super frustrating. I wonder what's going on here. Have you reached out to Amazfit? I wonder if their customer service is any good. 🤔
As others have said, this is questionable value at best at that price, although in 6-12 months that headline price will be significantly reduced. By way of example the Zepp Z (Zepp is Amazfits parent company)was selling for around $600AUD at launch and now can be had for around $200 AUD now

I think the hesitation at 300 USD is warented. At that price point its beginning to get into a much more saturated market, and many of its competitors offer more accurate data. Garmin alone has multiple watches in the 250-350 dollar price range, add on Suunto, Coros, and somone on a different review even said an Apple Watch SE and Amazfit is really going to have a tough time selling at this price with its current offerings. Choice is always a good thing however, and im sure you'll find people who prefer the Cheetah to other watches for one reason or another.

@@mlegrand The screen of the GTR 3 Pro is becoming less and less responsive and more and more erratic, on top of all the known issues with the poor HR accuracy and percentages that don't add up to a 100.

I have been using Stratos 2 for 5th year and it is still working perfectly, no issues at all

I don’t think it’s all that inaccurate. This is the most accurate Amazfit watch I’ve tested to date. I think some of the Garmin and Apple Watches are more accurate but did you see the Polar in this video? 😬
I guess amazfit need foreign guys in team as they as chinese don’t know how to price according to features as no ecg or no modern great accuracy

Amazfit - Worst warranty in the industry. The company don't honor their 1 year warranty even if after 6 months of purchase. Horrible!

It's a bit crazy seeing the Hartrate graph 📉 so much off.. and then you calling it with words "pretty good hart rate measurements." You should call it what it is.
Which one? That first one was really impressive. You’re probably seeing it off at the beginning. That’s pretty normal for optical heart rate sensors. They need to extract out the running cadence from the pulse. I am always a little hesitant on heart rate with Amazfit but this is the best I’ve seen from them after testing 4 of their watches. 🤷🏻♂️
