In 1987 I tried to enlist in the Airforce during my senior year of high school. I got disqualified because of eczema. I got a letter from my doctor, but I still got rejected. It broke my heart. I went home and literally cried! I ended up going to college and getting a job as a Probation Officer. After all these years It still bothers me sometimes. God Bless.
@@lizpitula2471 it's because some people actually want to serve and they work really hard towards their enlistment and for you not to be qualified . It sucks .
I went through a similar situation. It literally took me a year and a bunch of medical records from every doctor I had ever been to. I was on the verge of giving up when I finally got the call that I'd been approved. Don't give up just yet. Sometimes you just have to focus on something else and give it time.
Letter to all my peoples❣️ I know a lot of us might thinking Gods “plan” involves a perfect life, everything will go smoothly, he will lay out what job he wants us to have etc, but as many of us know that’s not the case, that it doesn’t always involve a wealthy lifestyle, an easy life, or riches here on earth and that’s why God wants us to TRUST IN HIM FULLY. If we have Jesus then we know that our hope and faith lie in the fact that if we are saved, if we understand that we are sinners and need a savior, JESUS CHRIST, who died on the cross for our sins that we may live with him in heaven for eternity, then that gives us peace on this earth while we are living here for this short amount of time. I wanted to write all of you this letter to remind you or to maybe to let you know for the first time that Jesus Christ, the man in the Bible is real, is God, and loves his children, and is waiting on you to make the choice to follow him. Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
They just announced new standards today, and excema is no longer disqualifying! contact your recruiter if you're still interested, the information goes into affect feb 1st
+DrDeeAblo Gaming will do!thank you so much for this information! And that's so awesome for you, let me know how everything goes with you when you ship out!!
I was actually permanently disqualified TWICE for high blood pressure. However i Don't actually have it i just get high BP in stressful environments. I went to the regular doctors and had all normal readings. The Surgeon General of the Air Force approved me last week. then randomly some kids mom dies in a tragic accident and his job was one of the first on my list and i was the only one in DEP that qualified for it. So now i ship out Tuesday 9/6 i have literally been in the DEP for 5 days.
Yea man my BP was high too because I get really nervous too. The good thing is the personal exam doctor took it again and he said you don't have high blood pressure and I was able to qualify the first time. I go to Basic Training next week and I hope I don't have any problems this time I go to MEPs
2 Glizzy agreed. best advice i ever got. everything at MEPS like jail time, fines, etc., for fraudulent enlistment is usually for such extreme cases. no need to tell them something as small as eczema, therapist visits, past recreational drug usage, etc.,
True im currently on edge for spilling the beans and saying i had childhood asthma from age 5 to age 8 now i need to submit medical records and pharmacy record but here's the fucked up side i have inhaler prescription bc my mom asks for them even after not having problems for many years so either i get a waiver or just PDQ :(
luis jimenez I went to meps and lied about having asthma because I was misdiagnosed but unfortunately the doctor found a paper about me having it so now I have to hand in a shit ton of paper work for asthma I never had smh
Congratulations that you eventually made it. I was recently disqualified from the Marine Corps for having dislocated my shoulder a couple years ago. I haven’t had any problems with it. My recruiter is fight his hardest for me and we are trying to sort it out. This video gives me hope. Hopefully I make it
Yea the Airforce is a bit complicated they wanted nothing with me when I had a tiny tattoo on my finger. Now i'm on my way to MEPS in a week to join the Navy.
Whether your airforce, Navy, Marines, Army whatever MEPS is MEPS no matter what, they are going to disqualify you a tattoo on the finger would need a waver should have stayed Airforce and got a waver don’t think because you switch branches you think you’ll get accepted.
I was a Tech Sgt. in the USAF. I was active and Reserve. You seem like a very nice young Lady. I wish you all the best. The USAF is great but all the Branches are. The score you received on the ASVAB is awesome! Take your time and consider ALL the options in your life. It seem like you've really got your head in the right place. Remember, if have something going on for yourself now in the way of schooling, there is always the Reserve option. The Reserve will provide you with tuition money and real life employment skills. You mentioned God, earlier in Video. I'm glad you did. The Lord, Jesus Christ loves you. Pray and trust. You continue to do your part, he will do his part, Guaranteed! All the beat! ♱ 🇺🇸👮
Don Blake thank you for your kind words I recently got accepted and went to MEPS, now I am just waiting for a waiver 🙏🏽 ruclips.net/video/3irKQpEW1js/видео.html
I'm guilty of taking this video at face value and assuming you didn't get into the Air Force. But as I saw your channel, you proved me wrong! I'm so proud of you! From a fellow Air Force applicant who was just MEPS approved about a week ago, you make me feel there is no limit!
I literally just seperated because i was diagnosed as mentally and emotionaly unstable and i can not re enlist in the Air Force which was one of my biggest dreams so i feel you just keep your head up maybe God has a better plan for you❤
@@zoegomez4110 In 1984 I was a senior in high school. I got a call from a Marine Corps recruiter and wanted to know about enlisting. I made an appointment to see him and I told him I could not join do to "issues" I have and my ASVAB score was low and I was considered ineligible. He did not ask for any pertinent information about it but he would take me to M.E.P.S. and I would undergo a physical exam.
Before I even opened my mouth about any medical questions, my recruiter said, "80% of applicants are disqualified for medical conditions." I was like EIGHTY PERCENT?! What in the world are you guys disqualifying people for?? Any and everything. I'm sorry, girl. I hope it ends up working out for you. Either way, God has a plan. It may not be what you think you want or expect, but it'll be something amazing.
Sorry about what you're going through, it is very stressful. I am in the process of reenlisting, I got medically discharged from the Army 4 years ago. Now I'm trying to enlist in the Air Force, it's a lot of waiting and hoping. Keep praying, I will be praying for you!! Know that God has a specific plan for you, so if this doesn't fall through, his plans were better.
Keep your head up girl! I am having a similar issue (I haven't been DQ'd yet) however, I am having issues with the CMO at MEPS. When I started this process, my biggest fear was that my achilles would be the biggest thing I had to worry about. However, that was the first thing they cleared. The CMO ended up focusing on an MRI I had done because of a migrane I had a few years ago. Also I had been on blood pressure meds for like 6 months (again it was a couple years ago). So basically I have been going back and forth sending in med docs for like 2 months. I finally got a doctor's note clearing me from blood pressure and everything that I had in my history. I hope by next week I can go to MEPS and start this. Please keep trying to get that misdiagnosis cleared up and don't quit until you get the final word. I will be doing the same!
I haven't got that far but this whole air force situation is stressful but I am trusting God. I am not giving up there's a reason why God wants me to wait 6 months. (Jan. 30th) so i get the feeling of working hard and things go left. it's the devil working but God Got us!
Let me tell you it was the biggest struggle for me to join I was in DEP for 2 years I cried all the time cause I didn't know what to do but I'm 2 years in now and it was well worth it. Stay patient love everything happens for a reason!
hi, please I would like to join the air force and I want to keep going to college at the same time. is there a way I can do that? or do you know some people in the air force who do the same thing? thanks
+arthur nguimatsa yes, go into the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve. You can't be a full time college student and a full time active duty airman.
wow, i love you for making this video. A lot of people only post the good. You never see the failures or the time people hit rock bottom. It’s nice to see these type of videos because it lets you know you’re not alone when something doesn’t go as planned. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON ! Every single thing happens for a reason and i know that everything that’s happened to you is to set you up for something greater in the future! Best of luck to you babygirl ❤️
Sounds like all Air Force recruiters. They were mean and not helpful at all to me. Working with another recruiter in the Army and they have been helping me and working with me 100%.
well my recruiter is good she's cool but she is also the only air force recruiter in my station every other branch have like 5 ppl or more which is crazy BorisIvy
Wow, sorry! Yeah I got DQ'd from the navy a couple of months back for high BP (not to discourage you from the navy). So they told me to get it checked from a physician outside of meps 2 times back to back. I did that and my BP was at a normal level and like you I waited close to 3 months just to here back from them. Every time I asked my recruiter he told me that the papers hasn't been processed yet and one day 3 months later he told me I've been dq'd for it. Asked whats the next step and he told me maybe another branch. I came back home from school and a month later he said I could get a waiver for it because he didn't know then. This time I went to the army recruiter and now in the process of transferring my paper work. So don't give up! Too much hard work went into all of this; definitely the planning part! We got this!
I wish I had known this because I was medically disqualified from the Navy in August 1994. Then, I applied for a medical waiver and my waiver unfortunately denied. Plus was told that I was PMR.
I left the Marine Corp DEP to join the Navy and i had to wait 5 months to get a SINGLE paper that didn't even have a paragraph on it. Honestly I think the Navy is amazing and I am so excited to join the Navy DEP program.
Well, I am about to leave the Navy's DEP to go the Air Force route because of the stupid ass budget cuts and now I have to wait until the new fiscal year (FY) for more openings and shit! I would've left on the 16th of this month too..
You can do this I believe in you. I really hope everything works out for you. Honestly would be happy if you went into the Navy but the Air Force is just as amazing. I can't wait to hear what is next in your life and I will keep following you no matter what.
Hey good luck with everything! fingers crossed everything works out! I'm rooting for you , just passed my asvab for the air force with your 3 step video and others!
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I'm going through the same kind of struggle except I went through all the MEPS crap and that's when they disqualified me permanently. I'm still starting to recover from it so I know it's tough but we'll make it.
I think I know exactly what you're going through. I've just recently been Disqualified from continuing the AFROTC program I'm in due to being WRONGLY diagnosed with asthma when I was 16. I'm doing everything in my power to get everything sent to the waiver authorities to get my DQ overturned. Good luck!
I'm near retirement. I am sorry for your experience. sounds like you are going through some trials. keep you head up and your hears to God's lips. He will reveal something better for you. Maybe not the military. But if you decide to fight your PDQ I can ask the senior recruiter where I'm at. if you're still interested.
#Facts, in my day, [I'm old], flat feet had to be waivered; I can step on a dime and tell you if it's Denver or Philadelphia minted, but I still got to go to Air Assault and Airborne schools.
I got a letter saying I was disqualified for my sulfa allergy. After my recruiter told me that my waver was approved. I got another letter yesterday stating that I was permanently band for entry in the armed forces of the United States. Texted my recruiter and they told me that they had just gotten an email asking when I would be taking the asvab again. So something isn't right. I should be getting the news today if I'm ever going to go into the navy or not. I didn't even look this video up. I've been trying to keep all of this off my mind so I don't stress myself out but you were on my newsfeed. And decided to watch due to current situations. I do hope you're able to get into the military. It's all so stressful.
And I just got the call. I'm still good for the Navy! Apparently meps is required to send a letter, but for some reason the kept sending me those letters. Even though meps disqualified me the navy chose to take me in. A lot of stress has just been lifted, but my process isn't over yet.
+Kathy McAlpine I've been trying to get into the navy. Meps disqualified me, but the navy accepted my waiver for the allergy. It was a disqualification because I'm highly allergic.
Thanks for the response. My daughter is thinking of joining the AF when she graduates next June. We always put down that she's allergic to Sulfa because when she was little she had a reaction of breaking out in hives when she took sulfa (about 8 days later).
She should be fine. She will go through meps, and depending on how severe, they may disqualify her. If disqualified a waver will be sent to the branch which she is trying to join, and they will be the ones to pass her through.
@@DomingaShataun not gonna lie i saw this video and got really scared. i had anemia in 6th grade and as far as i know i dont have it but i rly hope that i dont get permanently disqualified.
I was disqualified from the Air Force. Every day I wake up and I feel a huge amount of guilt that there are others serving and I will never have the chance to do my part. I hope that someday I will feel better, but I seriously doubt that I will ever feel any less pain and guilt whenever I see or hear about someone in the service. I feel I've let my family and country down.
Gee, I know that stinks. I was rejected for a waiver from the Army National Guard for nearsightedness in 2013 :(. But I still want to join the military.
Went to meps 2 times to get a consult, was told nothing was wrong. Get a letter 2 weeks later stating that im disqualified from military service. Currently waiting on waiver
Im so glad your not giving up! I myself had tried to go for air force, slightly same story but i had medical bills on my report that ended up disqualifying me, so now im trying the navy, so far so good for me i just have to take my test again i made a 41 the last time and my recruiter wants me to make a 50 or higher. I know that God has a plan stored for us all. 😊
I was devastated learning I had a USAF, RE-2 Code upon being discharged. I served 4 years and got the standard Honorable Discharge. There was no warning. They just dropped the boom. I thought this would hurt future career goals in law enforcement. It didn't hurt any. I served with the DOJ as a federal officer for three years. Afterwards, I was appointed a city PD and made sgt, Lt, and captain. No one has ever once mentioned this reenlistment code. I doubted they even recognized it.
I got rejected at MEPS, I know the frustration. You got your whole life ahead of you. One door closes, another opens. Hope all is well with your life. God bless.
Hey, the system is flawed- of course it is, but thank you for trying to serve your country. My words are hollow, but we need more people like you on earth. Godspeed.
@MannyMarcano Well, my issue was my hearing. It was just barely below the standard. 10 years ago, they were begging for people to get out of the military, so it was very hard to get in. No waiver for me. Now they need people, so I was able to try again, and somehow, I ended up just passing the hearing test. The first time ten years ago was at the San Diego, CA Meps. This time was in Nebraska. Going to a better meps was honestly a huge part of it. The people were nicer and better and more willing to work with me. Places where there's a huuuge population don't care about getting you in.
I don't know if things have changed much in 30 years but they said I was asthmatic and failed me the first time. 18 months later I went back and the same doctor passed me.
awww whatever you do, just dont give up sweetheart!!! You seem like you've worked sooo hard to get where you are! So keep at cause im rooting for you🎉✊🎉
Update: Here I am now 7 years later in 2019 waiting to ship out to Fort Leonard Wood for basic training. I have tried again for the Army National Guard and got vision waiver approved this time. My MOS will be 88m Motor Transport Operator.
@@DomingaShataun Thank you. I done lost count how many times I tried for that waiver but it took me about almost six years to get in the Army National Guard. There are times when God brings certain people that are right for us into our lives for the better that will help us in the midst of our battles and remove the toxic people out of our lives that seek and try to destroy us. This was one of those times: I was denied a vision waiver multiple times before 2019 and thought there was nothing I could do and almost gave up on my dream to serve in the military. I was dating this guy who thought I should get eye surgery to remove my glasses permanently. I thought eye surgery would help me get in the military and almost went along with it but I had this gut feeling warning me not to get that eye surgery. So after thinking long and hard about it, I decided not to get it or listen to him. History of eye surgery is disqualifying for the military if presurgical refractive error in eyes exceeded 8.00 diopters and there was a significant difference in refractive errors needed to correct vision through surgery. So that would be two more new disqualifiers added to the vision disqualifier I already had: Excessive refractive error. Plus refractive surgery was not recommended for me according to an eye doctor because I also have amblyopia in one of my eyes. So I do not qualify for eye surgery. If I was unwise enough to listen to him and get the surgery anyway, I would have still not been in the Army National Guard and stuck with a permanently messed up eye and possibly vision loss that would have been nonwaivable. And he would have not cared. Turned out the man didn't like me with glasses on and only liked me better without glasses. I felt uncomfortable when I was spending time with him and safe when I was not with him. His character was questionable because he would disappear and not be heard from for days at a time. His excuse was he was busy helping family members or had to go on an "emergency business trip" with his job. He was not good for me. And he felt like I was not good for him because I wouldn't listen to him and do what he said. I am no longer dating him. He was removed from my life for good after I told him I am not getting eye surgery and it isn't his decision to tell me what to do with my eyes and vision. I like my glasses and am keeping them. They are a part of who I am. Why should I have to change my appearance for a man? That was not happening. Then months after cutting him out my life for good, I met the girl Army National Guard soldier in June who gave me the card of the girl recruiter I called up, met, enlisted with, and still talk to now. The girl soldier was also recruited by her too when she joined. This has made me embrace how God has made me even more even though it has made joining the military a challenging 6 year uphill battle for me. I was made to wear glasses. I should have gotten the girl soldier's name, rank and phone number so I can tell my recruiter she has referred me to her and the soldier could get credit and earn a ribbon to go on her dress uniform. And I stay in touch with recruiter even since I first called her up and started the enlistment process. I even want to invite her to graduation from basic training. When I saw the link to the video of you delivering news that you are finally approved to join the Air Force, I just had to watch it. I was glad to see that you were persistent and didn't give up.
@@DomingaShataun And I didn't need no eye surgery after all to get in the military. Trying again to join the Army National Guard was the best decision I made and I enjoy every second of it. I have met good compassionate people in it so far.
I'm going for my 3rd month waiting for my medical waiver for chest pains years ago. I got the letter from my primary cardiologist and I'm still in the waiting game. I am prior service and the first time around I didn't tell MEPS so that issue at least git resolved. but best of luck
I've went to mep so many time one because I got a good enough asvab score for the marines at the office but when I got there I did my physical which I passed but I was at my max weight but at the end they wanted me to get a higher score then the second time I got a higher score score on my asvab and then I went home after that and the thie time I went it was to reweigh myself and I was one pound under the max limit for 5'3 so I lost one pound in one month and finish my paper wore then swore in ... And then the I went again because my recruiter thought that I hadn't sign my contract but I did and went there for no reason lol
Just wondered. Can someone who has hypoglycemia, endometriosis, and diverticulitis, and wear contacts join the air force? Its not been diagnosed, but there are visits to doctors leading to them.
I went through something similar but for a different, and more problematic, medical issue. My issue was resolved by writing my congressman. I sent the letter, 14 days later recruiter called me back and said it was good to do.
+Dominga Shataun H you're welcome. I had a mess up when I was trying to join the Army. I have a GED & need 50 on the ASVAB & ended up getting a 47. No wavers or anything for GED people. So I had to go reserves. I was not taking that test again lol
+Jack Lan But sometimes proving to the military that the disqualifying defect was a misdiagnoses does not always work even if the doctor noted that you never had it. The military sometimes just ain't going to buy "Oh, it was just a misdiagnosis and I swear on a stack of bibles that I have never ever had it in my whole life." I watched another youtube video about a man who was denied twice by the Air Force after trying to prove he does not have eczema on his arm. And he submitted medical documents stating he has never had it before and everything. Waiver was submitted and it got denied twice. So with that, it's like being between a rock and a hard place trying to prove you never had the disqualifying defect your entire life in the first place and don't have it now. It's a damned-if-you-do-damned-if you-don't worse case scenario. And many applicants going through this may find the military enlistment process a frustrating experience because of that reason.
+Jack Lan And unfortunately, what if the waiver approval authority/Surgeon General of the military branch the applicant is trying to join is too familiar with the "I have never had this defect my entire life; it was all a misdiagnosis" story? Hopefully that is not the case but it could be unfortunately likely that the military probably has heard the story too many times and sometimes won't buy it.
I'm thinking of joining the military, I've had a rough life and this is something I've always wanted to do however I am a very nervous and have a couple of concerns. In middle school I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and type two diabetes after a while I sort of stopped believing in medication that it helps us all so I sort of stopped taking it and I haven't had a problem, I haven't had any symptoms I've been doing fine anytime that I do decide to check my blood sugar at home it is really never over 100 and I eat whatever I want to, do whatever I want but I have to lose a certain amount of weight and I am trying to do that as of now my concern is I've been watching RUclips on mine to your recruiter which I really do not want to do but I also do not want these elements to maybe stand in my way of what my dream is and I just kind a need it vice on what I should do when it comes to those two problem areas.
The Air force and Navy are super hard to get into. One thing i learned from joining the Army is dont put crap on your paperwork unless its something serious like something to do with your internal organs because it will come out during basic training , had a guy lie about a heart condition and during the pt he almost died and was kicked out and jailed for lying on his form. I had low blood pressure which is a disqualification but i never put it down and just managed it on my own and never had a issue in my 6 years in
You've got this babe. Make sure you have everything you need and honestly I'd say go navy because they seem to better to work with. Keep your head up and I love you vids. Take care
I tottallly understand. I wanted at first to go into the Air Force but my recruiter litterly didn't ever work with me. I told him that I been off anti-depressions for a while now and I had a very low dose when I was and I even had a doctor's note twice updating this and that he would send it in. Well he litterly fucked me around for over 5 months saying we have to wait 6 months to a year JUST to send in a weaver if I will be accepted or not due to medical. I called and left messages and texted him, he obviously reads it because it says he reads my text but no responses, not call backs, nothing. I never got updated about if I got accepted or not. So I said fuck this, I went to join the Navy and I just didn't even mention my anti-depressions because if you been off a long time, its not worth the shit going through the medical people. So I 100% agree with this. However something simple like my situation and Dominga(sadly her situation didn't go as planned); if you do have a medical condition that does actually effect you (like asthma) don't lie to the military about it because if they find out, it will be 100 times worse then saying it in the beginning. Goodluck everyone and Dominga ;~;!
Rachel Pollack I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety back in 2014. I have been off of the antidepressants for 2 years, however I dont know if I should tell my recruiter about it when I meet with her on tuesday. Any suggestions?
Literally my issue but I'm still waiting to hear back, I was misdiagnosed with eczema and I got reviewed and confirmed with no eczema, I really hope I get everything works out 😁
One possible option you can try is have a doctor clear you of eczema. If you don't have it and have a dermatologist confirm it on a letter head. Have them submit that letter with a hand written statement saying that you don't suffer from it. It's called a medred and the Navy can send it up. If you get those two letters from the doctor and use those with your paperwork (2807), that will help. It will have to go to BUMED.
dang that sucks. I hope you get in. my recruiter told me before hand to have a note about being anemic after I had gallbladder surgery, saying that I'm not anemic it was because of the gallbladder. now just waiting for it to get approved. good luck.
I'm sorry to hear this. I know we talked briefly in your last video about how tough it has been to get the scores we really wanted with the ASVAB. I'm still waiting on retesting as I didn't get the score I wanted. Everything else is fine with me because I told myself whatever I score this time that is it. I'm settling for it but I didn't score what I did the precious time so I told myself wait and try again and go from there but medically and everything else I haven't had this issue and it's sad because I know how we all want this opportunity and just with the ones who get disqualified. I just leave it in Gods hands but tell myself to keep going for what I know I want in my heart. Things will work out for you. I would say in the mean time do everything else that is important which is schooling and working. I haven't stopped that because I need to be doing those things plus, like you, I'm not one to sit around because I do get bored and can't just stay in a house all day.
+SHNERDiGUYo7 hi again! Thanks so much for your kind words, I know it's very difficult for the people who want to do well but just encounter many roadblocks. That's why like you, I've put it all in Gods hands and I will be happy with whatever he has planned for me because I know it will be better than I could ever imagine. I've just registered for classes this fall, I'm taking a full load this semester so maybe I'll be able to get more credits in if I do end up going! I hope you're able to pass this test with flying colors :D and let me know how it goes! Thanks again ❤️
Dominga Shataun H I wish you luck and I appreciate the kind words, and will keep you posted on what is given to me in due time! Hopefully you post another video just because lol, best of luck again!
+SHNERDiGUYo7 awesome! Also just let me know if there's any video you'd like me to post: Q&A, tag, more about military? (Just trying to see what ppl want me to continue posting lol) thanks!
Hey! I'm sooo nervous, I have horrible test anxiety and it doesn't help that I also have ADHD. And I'm not even allowed to take my medication😑 taking the ASVAB in a few days.
I want to join the Navy. I have a master's in International business. However, I have multiple hereditary osteochoma. It doesn't effect my life anymore (and it never really did to begin with). I've had 3 surgeries to remove them from my body and on the last one I had a fully body scan that showed that I didn't have any more problematic ones. In addition, I had my ACL and meniscus repaired. The multiple hereditary osteochondroma is on the lost ofndisqualifying medical conditions. Dont know If it's worth it to bother...knowing I'm going to fail.
I feel you 100% I had the same experience from AF. AF recruiting command seems far more unprofessional compapred to army. Keep it up there will be way as long as you are eager to get in. Make sure you don start process in the two branches at the same time.
Man that is tough to hear I hope everything ends up working out for you and you get in the military I know how frustrating it is you want to get in so bad. But there is always something holding back. Yesterday I took my Asvap retest for the 3rd time and I missed it by 3. And it sucks because last time I missed it by 2. And now I have to wait 6 months until I can take it again and that's just to much down time. It's frustrating but it's something I really wanna do. So keep your head up
I've been trying to reenlist and being prior service I have had to 3 LOEs saying I should be allowed to rejoin I had to get a doctors letter as well it's been such a pain I would already be in if they didn't limit the amount of ps they accept a year the new fiscal year starts oct. 1st they initially disqualified me but I proved there wasn't anything wrong. My problem was my dd214 had contradictory information. If you need specific advice I can help!(:
the reason why they are strict is not personal.U cannot focus if stress brings on a skin condition that makes u unable to focus 100 percent, eczema i know for ex soreness, itching ,agitation try having on the eye lid etc etc .Its about being in the army will obviously bring on stress ,and i agree 100 percent for their reasoning .Being undiagnosed is another thing.Stress is the num one thing that will bring on a bout of eczema .
The meps doctor misdiagnosed me saying I have scoliosis when i've ran 2 spartan obstacle challenges, the marine corps bootcamp challenge, the gladiator obstacle challenge and 12 5ks. I've never had any back problems and they disqualified me so then my recruiter sent in my waiver and I put all that down on a sheet my recruiter gave me so i can explain that to the general surgeon. The general surgeon accepted my waiver thankfully, they tell you at the briefing in meps that each service has its own restrictions so you can try another branch and they may accept you but i dont know cause im not fully knowledgeable on that subject. Good luck!.
PDQ means that your condition is perminant, not that you are Permantly DQ'd as standards can change.. Thats why he needs paperwork saying you dont have it. For example. A broken bone is a TDQ, aka Temporary, because the bone will heal.. But if you get surgery, the surgery is PDQ, because you had surgery, and the surgery is perminant, you cant go back and undo it... NOW, im sure youve seen youtube videos, but PDQ's are waiverable depending on the condition. So dont get discouraged.. From my experience, the Marines are the best branch when it comes to recruiters. They really work with you. Just don't let the term PDQ scare you, it just means you need to find your way to MEPS to get your DQ and send up a waiver. I've got bad vision, correctable to 20/20, but my paperwork hasn't been perfect. Im currently waiting on my second BUMED, post DQ. I'll let you know how it goes.. but don't ever let them tell you no. There are ways. I've already been to MEPS twice, taken the physical and all, so now its just a matter of getting the approval to go DEP in.
TDQ meaning temporary condition like broken bone or pregnant PDQ meaning permanent condition like having surgery (because you cant undo a surgery) or allergy. If you've been to MEPs it says it on your paperwork.
I was just temporarily dq from the army because of my hernia which really sucks after all the trouble I went through. I'm getting it checked by the doctor the condition doesn't really bother me at, no discomfort or anything at all. Just hoping I get approved by the doctor so I can join, I'm not giving up. If there is any suggestions that would be great!
I feel you really, I was planning to join the Navy this year (I am from Mexico but I was born in the States) anyway the only 2 weeks (I went in March)I had to do my paperwork to enlist the Navy office was closed due to the COVID-19, it didn´t helped at all that 1 month after that, I fell terribly ill due to a Gastroenteritis that made me loss almost 20 kg (In April). And to make the matter even worst my Gastroenterologist misdiagnosed it so many times so I couldn´t start to recover till November of this year when I went to see another doctor. When I start to feel OK again I will go to try again. I am happy that at the end you were able to enlist.
I don’t understand why they trip out about eczema like people still work out and sweat and do whatever if they have a flare up you just put a cream it’s not like it’s contagious that’s crazy I know so many people that have eczema that doesn’t hinder anything
The same thing is happening with me! I am wanting to go to OTS because I just graduated from Ball State U and the recruiter told me about submitting a package and the earliest i can test is September and its a 6 mo wait and all this loose information its frustrating but God is ALWAYS in control so I'm trusting in him and I'm gonna stop stressin'.
Oh my!! I am so sorry you had to go through that. I know the feeling kinda. My recruiter told me i was disqualified because I had a student loan to pay off. I got that. But she was very rude and told me I pretty much couldn't join her air force because I went to college. I should've did what you did and tired another recruiter. And on another note. Don;t give up on the air force. My friend who's in says reuters like that just don't care and/or want to work harder then they already have too. Plus the Air force has a bette life style I've been told. In my family theres a member in every branch. An most of them wished they joined the Air Force instead of the Marines or Army or Navy. Anyway I do want to thank you for making the videos you do. There very helpful and funny. Keep posting an i'll I keep watching.
That recruiter was unprofessionally tripping. I would have gotten her name and rank and reported her to her supervisor for her rude behavior that makes the recruiting environment an unwelcoming place for people. I would tell her about herself and how rude she is being.
Rose Watkins you got disqualified because of a student loan? That's weird but if you went to college and want to join Air Force you should try to become a officer instead of enlisting. Enlisted members have a high school degree and officers have a bachelors degree depending on what degree you have . Officers make more money than enlisted. I'm currently enlisted in the Air Force Reserves and I'm going to school to become a officer and go active duty through ROTC. Hopefully you find the best way to join if you still want to.
Don't give up, took several waiver attempts for my eczema. Been in 12 years now. Go to a Dr. and EXPLAIN what your paperwork asks for. Mild eczema is waiverable.
I got discharged for raynt and I'm fighting to get back in cause I haven't had any problems. My recruiter told me if I can get a doctor to say no that I don't have I should be good to go. Well the doctor said no I don't have raynauds. So now I'm waiting for the waiver result
@@DomingaShataun i get discouraged a lot. Because ive given my papers to the recruiters before and they never got back with me ever. so now the current recruiter says i just haave to be patient for it to come back, but part of me feels like he didnt send it up either cause ive already been waiting for like 4 months. and my dischaarge code says i can go re enlist
Kevin Ohler when’s the last time you spoke to him/ went to see him, maybe he can show u on his computer that he sent it up. Are you just waiting for a medical waiver from MEPS now? Did you send the Dr note etc to MEPS ?
I know the feeling girl... I was so close in joining in the airfroce and then got a called from the recruiter. Got a 88 on the asvab. He said I couldn't join because of my credit. I had a collection and own 20k, deeply in debt. He talked to his boss and tried everything to get me in but his boss said no. He said even if I won the lottery and paid of the debt I still have that collection on my record. I could still join but I need at least a 65 (which I did) and I don't get to pick the job I want, they get to pick it. He said it won't be the same experience and said it would be better to join the navy than airforce.
Hi! I am new in the channel, and I just wanted to ask you why dont you join the Army? My recruiter has been super helpful (even though he tells me things like "anything in the Army is hard, you will love it, you will have a lot of fun" and I know he just wants me to join, but the first time I got in contact with him was January 25. Today is February 15. I already filled out the paperwork, I already have the appointment to take the ASVAB and also the appointment to go to MEPS. It has been a really fast process and I feel really comfortable with it.
Permanently disqualified for eczema? And they wonder why they aren't meeting recruiting requirements now.
God Bless.
As an Air Force veteran this breaks my heart. I'm so sorry.
thank you
As an Air Force veteran this doesn’t break my heart. She simply physically wasn’t qualified. What’s the problem.
Liz Pitula shut up
@@lizpitula2471 bruh shut up
@@lizpitula2471 it's because some people actually want to serve and they work really hard towards their enlistment and for you not to be qualified . It sucks .
I went through a similar situation. It literally took me a year and a bunch of medical records from every doctor I had ever been to. I was on the verge of giving up when I finally got the call that I'd been approved. Don't give up just yet. Sometimes you just have to focus on something else and give it time.

Letter to all my peoples❣️
I know a lot of us might thinking Gods “plan” involves a perfect life, everything will go smoothly, he will lay out what job he wants us to have etc, but as many of us know that’s not the case, that it doesn’t always involve a wealthy lifestyle, an easy life, or riches here on earth and that’s why God wants us to TRUST IN HIM FULLY.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

How did it go? Did you qualify in MEPs?
Yeah of course, i was cleared by the Surgeon General of he Air Force. I've already been Active duty now for 5 months.
High blood pressure was why I had been disqualified from joining the Navy in August 1994.
Have the SAME PROBLEM. My pressure gets high as soon as I stress, so I’m worried about that as well!
for future refrences, they only know what you tell them.
2 Glizzy agreed. best advice i ever got. everything at MEPS like jail time, fines, etc., for fraudulent enlistment is usually for such extreme cases. no need to tell them something as small as eczema, therapist visits, past recreational drug usage, etc.,
True im currently on edge for spilling the beans and saying i had childhood asthma from age 5 to age 8 now i need to submit medical records and pharmacy record but here's the fucked up side i have inhaler prescription bc my mom asks for them even after not having problems for many years so either i get a waiver or just PDQ :(
luis jimenez I went to meps and lied about having asthma because I was misdiagnosed but unfortunately the doctor found a paper about me having it so now I have to hand in a shit ton of paper work for asthma I never had smh
thats true

Yea the Airforce is a bit complicated they wanted nothing with me when I had a tiny tattoo on my finger. Now i'm on my way to MEPS in a week to join the Navy.
Oh that’s awesome girl congrats 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Whether your airforce, Navy, Marines, Army whatever MEPS is MEPS no matter what, they are going to disqualify you a tattoo on the finger would need a waver should have stayed Airforce and got a waver don’t think because you switch branches you think you’ll get accepted.

You are barred from all the branches sorry to say
Other branches provide waivers and accept people who are disqualified from the USAF. Rank (pay) is also faster in the army than the USAF.
+Amber Hofstetter thank you so much for your prayers. I've been praying myself that God just reveals his plans for me!
+Cody Kosmerick thank you so much I hope EVERYTHING works out for you!!!
I got my eczema waiver approved but it was for the Marines. I'm pretty sure it differs case by case and by branch.
You shouldn’t be disqualified for Eczema. I would go talk to a different recruiters office. I have eczema and they haven’t said anything.
How bad is the eczema?
I can tell by your voice it’s heart breaking for u 😢 but hopefully navy hit you back 🤞🏾
I haven't got that far but this whole air force situation is stressful but I am trusting God. I am not giving up there's a reason why God wants me to wait 6 months. (Jan. 30th) so i get the feeling of working hard and things go left. it's the devil working but God Got us!

My navy recruiter was amazing.... Got me the job I wanted and even an enlistment bonus

+David S!X Moore wow that's crazy, yah it's all a waiting game now
I wish I had known this because I was medically disqualified from the Navy in August 1994.

So because you have a sulfa allergy, you are disqualified from the AF?

+Lira h thank you!
Godspeed.
As someone who was disqualified 10 years ago and is now enlisting, it's so nice to see it ended up working out for you. 😊
what qualified you this time
@MannyMarcano Well, my issue was my hearing.

Brittany Scott wow that’s awesome congratulations 🎉🎊 🙌🙌🙏🙏
Way to go Hooah!!
What eye problem did you have?
I'm going for my 3rd month waiting for my medical waiver for chest pains years ago. I got the letter from my primary cardiologist and I'm still in the waiting game.
I am prior service and the first time around I didn't tell MEPS so that issue at least git resolved.
but best of luck
Luis Medina did you ever get waiver approved?
I've went to mep so many time one because I got a good enough asvab score for the marines at the office but when I got there I did my physical which I passed but I was at my max weight but at the end they wanted me to get a higher score then the second time I got a higher score score on my asvab and then I went home after that and the thie time I went it was to reweigh myself and I was one pound under the max limit for 5'3 so I lost one pound in one month and finish my paper wore then swore in ... And then the I went again because my recruiter thought that I hadn't sign my contract but I did and went there for no reason lol
I want to go to the air Force but I can't because I have anxiety/depression.
2016? Wow and coming imto 2019 you got in! Way to go girl. You never gave up and I'm so proud of you. ☺
k kdot6.6 thank you❣️❣️❣️
Just wondered.
+InformalGreeting wow I never heard/thought of that
So, your Congressman was able to help you get a waiver?
Your gonna make it stay strong my sister!!!
+Mos Bella thank you!
Stay strong. That's some bull crap. I'm in the Army Reserves. Proud of you for not giving up and keep going on with life.
+AlphaGod Keyz thanks so much
+Dominga Shataun H you're welcome. I had a mess up when I was trying to join the Army. I have a GED & need 50 on the ASVAB & ended up getting a 47. No wavers or anything for GED people. So I had to go reserves. I was not taking that test again lol
+AlphaGod Keyz wow that's crazy, good for you
And that female recruiter was unhelpful that you had to deal with.
+Jack Lan So does that also mean you are out of luck with ever joining the military in the future, too?
I had low blood pressure which is a disqualification but i never put it down and just managed it on my own and never had a issue in my 6 years in
yup def learned the hard way but i finally got approved ruclips.net/video/3irKQpEW1js/видео.html
This happened to my brother also. He had to write a letter to the POTUS to get his waiver before the Air Force would overturn their ruling.
yeah sure....
Slurburbler cool story
Tyrone Craft Lol POTUS
Tyrone Craft stolen valor
You've got this babe. Make sure you have everything you need and honestly I'd say go navy because they seem to better to work with. Keep your head up and I love you vids. Take care
+Colleen Norgard thank you so much ! I'll make sure to keep you guys updated on what's happening
+Rachel Pollack thank you Rachel !
Rachel Pollack I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety back in 2014. I have been off of the antidepressants for 2 years, however I dont know if I should tell my recruiter about it when I meet with her on tuesday. Any suggestions?
@@tiawhite4109 did you ever get in? I'm in the same predicament as well.
Literally my issue but I'm still waiting to hear back, I was misdiagnosed with eczema and I got reviewed and confirmed with no eczema, I really hope I get everything works out 😁
+Nathali Blanco wow hope everything works out with you as well
@Booby Belly been in for almost 4 years now 😁
One possible option you can try is have a doctor clear you of eczema. If you don't have it and have a dermatologist confirm it on a letter head. Have them submit that letter with a hand written statement saying that you don't suffer from it. It's called a medred and the Navy can send it up. If you get those two letters from the doctor and use those with your paperwork (2807), that will help. It will have to go to BUMED.
air force has new policy changes i uploaded a video on it ruclips.net/video/Te2ziPgQnaA/видео.html
has anything changed since you posted this video ? im currently deciding on what branch to join.
coast guard mate!
Dylan Castle go army
I was just at meps today and got pdq for not being able to keep my hands still cause I was nervous so I was the only one in the group who didn't pass
When were they looking at your hands??
I took my ASVAB I scored a 60 now I have to take a confirmation test at MEPS and i dont even know where i need to begin studying again.
dang that sucks. I hope you get in. my recruiter told me before hand to have a note about being anemic after I had gallbladder surgery, saying that I'm not anemic it was because of the gallbladder. now just waiting for it to get approved. good luck.
I'm in the same position! I had my gallbladder removed and I was told I'm anemic.
Mary Faircloth did your waiver get approved?
Don’t lose hope stay focus on the prize. God will make a way
I'm sorry to hear this.
Don't be sad. I know the feeling with dealing with other stuff and I know it's hard but you have to keep pushing for the best
There was a new wavier that was past this January that allows you to enlist as long as it’s mild eczema.
Girl I know how you feel. The navy did the same to me 😢😢😢
@Booby Belly Nope. Neck scar for the surgery means they needed the paperwork. Didnt get very far after they had that paperwork
So keep your head up
+Anthony Hernandez wow sorry to hear that, hope it works out for you as well
I've been trying to reenlist and being prior service I have had to 3 LOEs saying I should be allowed to rejoin I had to get a doctors letter as well it's been such a pain I would already be in if they didn't limit the amount of ps they accept a year the new fiscal year starts oct. 1st they initially disqualified me but I proved there wasn't anything wrong. My problem was my dd214 had contradictory information. If you need specific advice I can help!(:
+Madalyn Pruett thank you
Everything will be fine just trust and pray🙏
the reason why they are strict is not personal.U cannot focus if stress brings on a skin condition that makes u unable to focus 100 percent, eczema i know for ex soreness, itching ,agitation try having on the eye lid etc etc .Its about being in the army will obviously bring on stress ,and i agree 100 percent for their reasoning .Being undiagnosed is another thing.Stress is the num one thing that will bring on a bout of eczema .
Good luck!.
new video update about policy changes ruclips.net/video/Te2ziPgQnaA/видео.html
+Tyler Clarke thanks, definitely let me know how it goes for you
Tyler Clarke PDQ stands for "Physical Disqualified" not permanent DQ.
TDQ=Temporary DQ
PDQ=Permanent DQ
will do! still waiting, you know how it goes. lol
TDQ meaning temporary condition like broken bone or pregnant
PDQ meaning permanent condition like having surgery (because you cant undo a surgery) or allergy.
So was this before or after meps? WTF is medical paperwork
Inshallah, sister.
@Booby Belly As-salamu alaykum my nigga
This just popped up on my recommended and im glad everything is worked 5 years later
Rose Watkins Are you over 39? If not then you should try again! A diff recruiter.
What was it that you had or have. I have some flares but it’s not itchy.
You can still get a weaver. Write to the congressman with your medical form. Her recruiter want doing his job.
Tiger Claw *waiver *wasn't
Why does eczema matter?
Don't give up, took several waiver attempts for my eczema. Been in 12 years now. Go to a Dr. and EXPLAIN what your paperwork asks for. Mild eczema is waiverable.
Hey I ended up getting a waiver bc it was misdiagnosed I have updated vids of me swearing in😃🙌🙌🙌
@@DomingaShataun Outstanding!!!
That is so crazy! Good luck with everything!

I got discharged for raynt and I'm fighting to get back in cause I haven't had any problems. My recruiter told me if I can get a doctor to say no that I don't have I should be good to go. Well the doctor said no I don't have raynauds. So now I'm waiting for the waiver result
Kevin Ohler hopefully you you get that waiver soon!!!

@@DomingaShataun and ya I'm waiting for my waiver to come back from the doctor in there to approve or disapprove
is there other disqualifiers?? I had ADD, but am fine now so would that disqualify? I really want to go AF!
He said it won't be the same experience and said it would be better to join the navy than airforce.
just uploaded new video update ruclips.net/video/Te2ziPgQnaA/видео.html
Now look, you done returned back from basic !!!
THAT PART!!!
you're recruiter was playing you. You probably actually never got disqualified! someone from the navy did the same to me
How can u know u got disqualified?
She did contact another separate recruiter though and he saw the disqualification in the records or whatever
What is your current AFSC?
