The new scary thing is the F22 - we aren't even allowed to sell it to our allies. Someone once said that the F22 is the invisible sniper that unalives you before you can blink though you'll never know it was in your airspace. The F15 is the freakin terminator kicking down your door, loaded for bear, saying, "S'up bitches." with a grin and a stogie clenched in his teeth.
I was in the US Air Force 50 years ago. Our primary fighter at that time was the F-4. The F-15 and F-16 were just being introduced into Europe. They showed us a movie where an F-15 and an F-4 took off, side by side. The F-15 got airborne first, went straight up to 10,000 feet (as I recall), made a loop and then did a simulated strafing fun on the F-4 just as it was clearing the runway. As I recall, it's combat record is 104-0. Fast, maneuverable, packed to the gills with electronics, and highly lethal.
OK, now I've watched the video and I see that Fatty E verified the 104-0 statistic.
The main problem with the F-4 is it was an interceptor meant to engage bombers. Which proved to be a disastrous mistake.
the F-15 is badass i was a Police Officer at the St Louis Missouri Airport and used to them take off on their testing because McDonnel-Douglas was right across the airport and to see it go down the runway and then go straight up vertigal was AWESOME
alittle context behind the whole lost wing ordeal. It was an Israeli pilot who lost his wing during training when he collided with another plane. after the wing was gone (which he didnt know until after he landed) the plane did start spiraling out of control. They were going to eject, but the pilot decided to throw it into afterburn which increased the speed and horsepower tremendously. After he went into the afterburn the spiral slowed and he realized he was able to regain control of the aircraft and went and landed but had to land at twice the normal speed because if he slowed down it started spiraling again. The manufacturer didn't believe it when they were told it flew with 1 wing missing. But they later concluded that because of the shape of the plane that when in afterburn it is essentially a rocket. You could clip both wings off and stay in the air, however you wouldn't really be able to control it without at least one wing.
Not completely correct, the pilot knew his Wing was gone. In an F15 you can pretty much see the whole plane from the cockpit. It's intended for 360° view. Also the plane is essentially a lift body.
@@Flt.Hawkeye From what I heard he didn't know it was gone but knew it was damaged because there was so much vapor and smoke, but then I'm going off of something I heard from someone who knows a guy who read something who saw something and so on, so I'm very probably wrong.
@TheBulletTrain I dont know where, but im pretty sure it's was on the discord of some real engineering Chanel or Somethg they reviewed the internal report paper of the Airforce regarding this incident. The Pilot said in this paper he knew he took substantial damage to the wing.
The F15E that knocked down the helicopter with a bomb was from the 4th Fighter Wing st Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro North Carolina

I was stationed at SJAFB and I deployed to the middle east with 335th Fighter Squadron and aircraft 487 was their pride and joy, even then still sporting a Star with the word “Helo” on it for its helicopter Air to Air kill.
My 2nd cousin flew the F15 in combat and said it was a killer. When he stopped flying combat missions, he helped train the F22 pilots flying his F15 against them. It's still a scarry beast of a plane.
When you are on the runway with the brakes on and you push the throttle to full afterburner, then let off the brakes, it's almost exactly like the powerful cars you've been in. The big difference is that with the F-15, the acceleration doesn't stop. In a full afterburner takeoff it pins you against the back of the seat for well over a minute, usually climbing straight up in the process.
They are still in production. New models are being built with the latest tech...
And no plans of retirement...
The F15 still holds the record for virticle climb. They also have new varients like the F15x that are out there now as well.

I`ve played golf at Hill AFB Utah. I`ve watched these jets do just what he said. Clear the runway and
go STRAIGHT up, gave me chills to see this in person! USA has the BEST toys! Don`t mess with the US.

When the F-15 went vertical it created a cloud around the plane. which means it was breaking the sound barrier not. just straight up. All fighter jests can go straight up but they don't break the sound barrier.

I saw an F-15 fly over at a football game some years back. It was insanely cool. They were going "slow" over the stadium but gassed it after the final note and it was insane how fast they are.

I have two friends who fly the F-15C and I have to say from the way they describe it and what it's like to fly it it's absolutely nuts the say that it's like a Cadillac in that it is so smooth in it's maneuvering but that it has a kind of very slight squishiness feeling in the controls but not enough to be seen when watching it or really make any difference it carries about 50-000 pounds of ordinance and an travel as high as 60,000 feet although they never actually fly above 50,000 feet still to put that into perspective at 25,000 feet your five miles straight up and airliners like the 737 only travel at 34,000 feet at most... yeah not a plane to play with!

2:54 I got to visit the U.S Space & Rocket Center a while back. They have a G-Force accelerator there that's open to the public. It pulls 3G's and it feels insane. I can't even imagine what 9G's feels like.

My dad served 29 years in the Air Force and flew that (F-15 E strike eagle) going to be more proud that my dad served 29 years for the United States Air Force I'm retired a colonel Dad if you ever see one of these videos I'm coming on I'm always going to be proud and brag about you cuz you're a hero of my book and the eyes of the citizens of America

I spent 30 yrs in American Aerospace. I have parts on the A10, F14,15 16. The Tomahawk missle. Patriot, and JSOW missle. I am quite proud of this. But the coolest part of my job was getting to see video of the test flights. Wow. When Desert Storm broke we laughed like hell. We knew what we had.
"if they scrapped this jet and built something now" they don't need to. They have been building new jets continuously while keeping these jets in production. Whatever technology you see in the US military, remember that they have technology 30 years more advanced behind closed doors.

The newer F15EX have 29,500 lbs of thrust per engine
The F22 has 35000 lbs of thrust per engine and the F35 is pushing 40,000+ lbs of thrust.

The story behind the F-15 is a good one, too. It was developed because the Soviet Union claimed that they were about to produce an air superiority fighter that could shoot down our front-line fighters. We got to work right away and developed the F-15, which had a large wing area to be very agile, but also able to carry 4 Sparrow long range radar guided air to air missiles and 4 Sidewinder heat seekers, more than most other fighter aircraft. The fun part was that we built it only to find out the USSR was bluffing.
BTW, the thrust on them was 50,000 pounds with a weight of 40K- 45K pounds, depending on the loadout for intercept. Meaning it can accelerate vertically...like a rocket.

Just a little note, the clip of him showing the f15 taking off and going vertical, that puff of vapor wasn't because it broke the sound barrier that was just because of differential pressure caused by the high G turn.
Though i dont doubt that it can go mach 1 going straight up if its carrying little fuel.
Thrust makes it climb like a rocket and makes it fly fast😊😊
Just to be clear, it can fly 3450 miles with additional drop tanks, not on internal fuel alone.
If you think that the design of the F-15 is amazing for being able to fly with one wing ripped off. Think of the payload that it is capable of carrying. It was able to fly on one wing while being able to carry the huge nuts of the pilot that looked over at the missing wing and said I can still get home.. lol

F-15 doesn't have lift to carry the aircraft. It has lift to carry its weapons payload.

The scary thing about America military tech is you only know what they let you know or you find out about it in live combat.
The general rule is that if you know about it, the US probably has a counter or replacement to it.

assuming equal pilot skill, the F-15 is a sitting duck for almost any F-16, and definitely a sitting duck for any F-35 of F-22. the amount of thrust it possesses is not unique to the F-15. most modern fighter aircraft could also fly for 10 miles and land with most of one wing missing. it also cannot maintain a level trajectory without it's wings, as he implies. and the ability to go vertical is something almost all fighter aircraft in the world can do.
it was a great weapon system 50 years ago, and a good one 30 years ago... but like the A-10, its antiquated junk perpetuated by congress, who doesn't listen to the Air Force, just the defense contractors that build the planes and guns.

So gonna be honest, not many times do I see a reaction video that seems to detract from the actual video itself.
The girl (yass) seems very disinterested in the videos ive seen her do. Admittedly im only at 3 but I was barely curious enough from the bill burr episode to come over and it seems like shes here because of the guy more than anything.
And while the guy seems to be semi interested to having a good time on these videos, when he panders to the girl to get input, he gets no energy back and quickly fizzles out, thus making there little point to these reaction videos.
