Righteous resurrection of another rare, but butchered, golden screwdriver hackery recipient, Matt. Too many of these older radios saw their demise in the hands of these inept, hammer handed, radio trashing bench trolls. Then, there are the shipping mishandlers. Your ability to wade through the quagmire of doom and get to the bottom of the sorcery, created by these ogres, is a testament to your passion for the continuation of the CB communication nation. A nice setup to be heard for years to come. 👍👊💪👋 😑🦗
Looks like a very nice setup. So many different hacks back in the day ruined many great radios. Good job on the repair and updates that sound board sounds great. Have a great weekend Matt 👍✌
Wow, you definitely brought it back alive, at the beginning of the video I was like good luck with that one! 💯Very nice job Matt. Victor Tango 802 , 73s
I'm amazed that it was working before I sent it in now, shipping was probably the final nail in the coffin. Thank you so much Matt! I can't wait to get back DXing
I am very confident that you could fix my 77 after seeing this it would be easy for you! Has a frequency drift and the external speaker jack needs fixed. I just got to to catch you when your taking repairs
Opening statement (this things on it own frequency schedule) literally made me ROFL, on a more serious note as the video started I was thinking here we go again another why bother fixing it radio but by the end it turned out to be a setup worth having and looked way better with the gold knobs.
Great job on that radio and thanks for the demo. What is the issue with a mismatch between radio and amp (high swr) when the 50 ohm rg-213 coax out to 5/8th wave vertical antenna - are matched 50 ohms with very low swr? Does the jumper between radio and amp need to be a certain length / tuned?
