I am not ham radio operator but I am wondering what you meant by you saying that 11 meters have opened up some lately, opened up to what , sorry for the dumb question, I just don’t know anything about it
@stevedarnall8556 11m is the CB radio band. When a radio operator talks about a band opening up or a band, being open. They are referring to good signal propagation or conditions. This is often referred to as skip in the CB world hope this helps. Please subscribe and like the video.
If SWR is to high how can adjust it? Bought the 75 all road.
You will need to adjust/tune your antenna for the best SWR. Depending on your antenna it can be done multiple ways but you will be making the whip longer or shorter. The antenna I used in the video has a small adjustment at the base that you turn to adjust the SWR, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@kc9cuk thank you very much i will be adjusting the antenna. Hopefully that will work.
Oh man. This is awesome. Hope more 4 wheelers get radios like this and keep us drivers more alerted to road conditions and smokies.
Gotta love the CB on road trips. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Erick! Looks like a very functional radio. If I win, I'll give it to my son-in-law for his new 5th wheel.
That would be very nice Sam!
Great video Erick! Thanks for all you do. Keep up the great work. Good luck. 73
Thanks for the nice comment Bob please don't forget to like subscribe and share!
Hams wouldn’t be hams if they weren’t complaining about something.
Sad hams😂
you can't make everyone happy, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@MadHatter11371Ditto 👍
Been a ham since 1996, and I occasionally use CB.
A radio transceiver like a gun is a tool. That's all it is.
Keep making those videos.
Hams are nasty creepy people stay away from them
Watching you go through the menu, seeing the display and hearing the beeps, it was reminding me so much of the old Nokia candybar cell phones from the early 2000’s.
Best review I’ve ever watched on RUclips. Very well presented. Good pace. No fluff. Great job!!
Glad to hear somebody speak out against the elitist ham radio operators who think that CB's are beneath them. Good job.
I think it's all 2-way radio and everyone has more in common than we would like to admit and it all has its place in the 2-way radio hobbies, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Radio is Radio
We all came from somewhere
.
Very True Phil Very True!
Thanks for the extensive review. I just bought one for use in my MX-5 for club drives. I'm still working on an antenna mount for that. In the meantime I've used it in my SUV. Like your Subbie I set the black box in the back and powered it off an accessory plug with the hand unit powered off a USB up front. I bought a cheep magnetic antenna, and I'm having no luck with the SWR. So I've just been listening. So far with my limited use I've been very pleased.
Good luck with your install sounds like it is going to be cool, Thank you so much for your comment, don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will use this on a motorcycle for road trips .You did a great job on this video . I haven't use a CB in years , but because of you video I will again . Thanks
That sounds like a great idea, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like an awesome radio if I win it will go in my semi. Please review more radios like this
There are some interesting radios in the works stay tuned, Thank you so much for your comment, don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the review. Ive seen a couple videos on this radio but none did as good of review as you did. I love the radios like this since i already have the older cobra and the midland. Guess ill have to add this one to my collection. Thx and 73.
I wanted to make a short video but it never works out that way glad you liked it. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t subscribe to many people your probably my 2 nd channel I have ever subscribed to. You won me over when you said you where giving a radio alway and I think it’s pretty cool and nice of you to give away a 200 dollar radio being a small channel. Hope my like and subscribe helps

This was a FANTASTIC REVIEW for a perfect stealth device!!!! I just scored one of these for my Subaru Wilderness Outback. I understand the base unit is rated waterproof. This is the ultimate cabin-space-saver CB radio I've ever seen. After looking at exhaustive options to hang/shoehorn a base-station unit in my vehicle, I came across this review. Because of it, I found myself buying one right away after watching all 45 minutes!!!!! I'm planning on installing it under my hood, and wiring it into the car using an AUXBEAM digital toggle switch box to activate it when I need it. Otherwise I'd hate to wire this thing to the battery, and have it accidentally drain the vehicle's power. Only cons here is I wish this thing had a SWR meter included. All things considering, it's feature-packed already. Followed/Reshared/Subscribed. Thank you!
Hi PM1 Chicago! The 75 All Road does have a built in SWR meter. It's a real SWR meter function that doesn't require any calibration in order to use it. The Blackbox that contains the actual CB radio transceiver is designed with what's called a strip line directional coupler that's between the transmitter and the antenna. DC Voltage representations for RF forward and reverse are fed to the main microprocessor on separate A/D inputs. The micro will take that data and accurately calculate the SWR, then send the data to the Handset which displays SWR on the bottom bar graph meter. This is how it's done on much higher end HF ham radios!
Regarding installation of the BlackBox (base unit), you indicated above that your chosen location is in the engine compartment. That location is really considered outside of the vehicle and is a very unfriendly place for a CB radio. The engine is a significant source of RF noise, engine vibrations and it's considered a high risk for exposure to a high pressure jet of water if you roll through a puddle at high speed. No good will come of it...
Consider installing the blackbox inside the vehicle or in the trunk (if your Outback has one?) or similar and close the antenna system plus farther away from the engine which is a potential RF noise source for a very sensitive radio receiver.
Have fun and post pictures of your installation solution if possible.
The radio does have a great modern SWR meter built in that does not require calibration and utilizes a strip line directional couple ( really good). I think you will love the radio and I love the Wilderness outback I have a very good friend with one great car. Finally a real review video on this radio. I also think this is a fun radio. My review add ons, 1. The mic cord could be longer. 2. The pwr cord I personally think it could've come with a cig plug attached or USB for the included cig plug attachment. The included cig plug 1. I agree it needs a working light. 2. The mic has the twist lock on it for water and dust proofing, it would be nice if the included cig lighter attachment you could twist lock the two together. Now for the extra Ptt button. The ad shows the radio/ptt with a one sided headset mic which cobra doesn't make any, why? My opinion if cobra made 1 or 2 different headset models sold as a package with the button I feel it would get purchased. Anyway these are my thoughts on making this radio better. Last I want to comment on the start of your video. It drives my crazy seeing so many hams talking negatively about 11 meters, knowing so many of us started there. I am currently working on my extra but like you I have gmrs and cb radios. Great video, thanks for the review. 73
Thanks for the insight you make some good points but they are going in the right direction. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm an extra class ham, and still have a lot of fun on "11 meters", and it's use during travel can't be beat. No RF snobbery here 😂
@stevedarnall8556 Thank you for your comment, I agree! Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video, it really helps the channel.
Best video I have seen regarding this CB
Good reveal video. A legal 10m with these features + SSB would be the bomb. Internal lithium batteries would be a great feature, also.
I agree a 10m/11m all-mode radio would be a big hit. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW! I really like this radio, and this video as well! So far I have watched about half of the video, but I had to stop and comment because I am that impressed.
I can see a lot of really convenient use for this. I could hook the black box up in my truck permanently and then use the mic in the truck while driving and on road trips, or take it in the house and use wirelessly connected to the black box in my truck, but the CB overall would work more like a base station. I would like to know more about how well it would transmit through walls for that to work.
I think this would work really well in my boat as well. Maybe I could keep the black box portable for moving it from truck to boat. I could keep it out of the way in a storage bin and keep the mic handy up on deck. The only thing I’d have to have permanently mounted would be an antenna. I know they make magnet mount antennas, and I could keep that whole set up portable, but having a lot of extra cable to have to deal with, I would find cumbersome. So two antennas and one CB to swap between vehicles, and possibly still have use of it in the house, all from one unit!
Touching just briefly on what you said at the beginning of this video, I am pretty new to radio myself, and I don’t even have one yet. I’m still shopping and researching and trying to learn. Not just about CB, but also ham and GMRS, and the MURS. I have not experienced any negativity so far from one group of radio users to the other, but I have read a good bit about that, and it seems to be common for some reason. Just like you, I don’t understand the reason, either. But I love your attitude on the whole thing, and that was enough to make me subscribe to your channel before I even saw the rest of the video. I’m looking forward to more content as well as watching your other videos to learn.

I had cobras all my life growing up. Glad to see they are still having success and designing new products. W9GD
I agree now if we can get them to make a all mode 11/10m mobile with a removable face we would be in business! Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am looking for an emerg contact radio considering how our world is today, this appears to be a great option. Great video!
CB radio is a legitimate backup communications device. During severe widespread storms, here in AUS and indeed NZ, mobile phone systems were out for days, power ditto. Only CB functioned.
Folk can liaise with ham operators (amateur radio folk) during severe and sustained emergencies, to get messages through globally, esp when CB skip might be poor at that time.
Buy one with AM FM at a minimum, SSB for additional potential. If you can find a 27Mhz with CTCSS, it operates on FM mode only, and it's a great function to set on an undesignated channel; you choose the code, the radio stays dead quite, even with squelch off, UNLESS it receives the same code (from your other set), ideal for base to car setups, where you don't want home life disrupted by other folks conversations or random noise breaking squelch, disrupting home life.
FM mode is great car to car, cleaner than AM, the road channel should be FM:-)
Thank you for your comment, I am glad you liked the video they are a lot of work. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video, it really helps the channel.
Looking into getting a cb radio for my truck and my tractor trailer for work! This sounds like a great option for a beginner with easy set up! Being a beginner myself this appears very approachable! Thanks a ton for the video and looking forward to the give away!

As an over the road truck driver, I TRULY appreciate someone who takes the time for new "old school" cb radios. How does it peak and tweak? Is that even needed? I am limited due to company regs. Cannot go swapping out a bunch of equipment. Just know that you just sold a Cobra 75 All Road.
Hi MoroVanator - no need to peak and tune the 75 All Road. The performance of the transceiver is optimized for AM and FM. The goal of the 75 All Road was to address the real challenges of installing a traditional one piece CB radio into a modern vehicle - any modern vehicle! The 75 All Road allows you to install the Black Box (which houses the CB transceiver) into any location that that's out of sight and preferably near a clean source of 12V and easy access to the external antenna system. The last part of the install is where the fun begins. Simply connect the Handset to any USB jack built into modern vehicles and/or use the included 12V to USB adapter and then power from the vehicles 12V accessory port. When you don't need or want the radio, store the handset in the glovebox or center arm rest storage and it's gone until you need to use it again. Enjoy!!
Thank you for your comment, to be honest I think the whole peak and tweak this is a scam and always has been. The radio performs well out of the box, save your money and enjoy Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
Bought, installed, loved. The only thing that hinders mine is the fact that the top load antenna co-phased is on the back of the sleeper berth so the signal is hindered by aluminum cab and the sheet metal trailer.
What a bunch of sad hams. I like CB radio. It has it's place like GMRS. Lots of fun to play with and they do come in handy.
It's not just hams, many CBers on my ham stuff complain it's just sad it's all radio. Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic and comprehensive video that would convince me to get this radio😊
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for your comment, I will be making more content soon. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
Thanks for the video. I was thinking about getting this radio but was concerned about the new tech maybe having some bugs or send receive issues. You’ve helped Me make my choice. I’ve subscribed and when it’s time to buy I’ll do so through your channel. Thanks again
nice radio with a lot of great features. you did a good job on the video!!!

Just picked one of these up, looking forward to getting it installed and set up in my Jeep. A second would be good to put in the RV :)
I think you will love it in your jeep. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're talkin my language, I love CB radio, that one is perfect who could ask for more. Right now I'm running a President Bill I love the size of the radio but it's tough to mount it anywhere in my Equinox. I can see me putting that in my car with no problem. I'm not a ham radio operator I do use gmrs, but I still prefer CB when I'm on the road. Thanks for the great video, something new I love it.
Glad you liked the video, Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is insane, chance my mind abrir Cb radios, thank you.

1) I just found this video the beginning of the video made me subscribe because I like real people tell the truth as it is.2nd great review don’t know if you knew the person on the other end but sounds like a good radio keeps up the great video’s
Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice review! This blue tooth feature is very convenient for placing the main box anywhere you have the space
I installed it all in my H2 Hummer with a ham radio and VHS aircraft radio yes i am a pilot !
I had one of the older Cobra One Hander CBs from the late 70s or early 80s back in the mid 90s. I put it on my mountain bike back then for a CB setup. I mounted the main box part on my rear bike rack with a SLA battery for power and used a mic clip on my handle bars for the handheld unit. The one thing I didn't like was the cord that was connected to the box for the handheld unit, This new Cobra would be perfect for a bike installation. Mount the box to the rear bike rack with a battery for power and use a battery pack to run the handheld unit. It also has good portabilty from the main box as long as you have a power source for the handheld unit.
Very nice video. Appreciate all the details. A legit full blown review.
Thank you for your comment, glad you liked it. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
I agree man, radios are a hobby and a way for me to escape from the day to day mundane life. Amazing video. Stay positive man. Fair winds and following seas.
Thank you for the kind words don't forget to like And subscribe I appreciate the support.
Thank you for a wonderful through review! Groceries or a CB... I hate having to make choices. LOL Cobra is going to have a winner with this one.
Radios are fun but I think food comes first, Thank you so much for your comment, don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Erich, i just want to say thanks for a fantastic video review of the Cobra 75! I watched a few other YT videos and i really felt like i was wasting my time as they lost focus and did not cover all the real concerns or show all of the radio menu of the Cobra 75! Your Video covered everything and a real two way QSL test to boot. I miss the great old CB days back in the 70's, 80's, 90's and i think Cobra did it again with the 75 by far. Oh as for the hard headed hams that think they are above the CB er's, they need to grow up because in my book both Ham and CB operators have the love for the two-way radio 8) Cheers and 73's N1LRF
Thank you for your comment, I really to make them as short but still give as much info as possible glad you liked it. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.

Its a great radio. The clarity is awesome and the bluetooth mic is the way of the future.👍
I love that you tried to take it away from your car with a battery pack
You explained the video very well. I am a first time CB interested person and I have watched a ton of videos but still haven’t decided on on yet but I’m looking at the newest Cobra 29. Thanks for your video it was very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Easy to understand. Great for a jeep. Appreciate it! 😊
This radio is awesome so far. I installing on my Jeep ‘12 and works perfect space wise is giving me what I need. I’m using the Tram 1198 glass antenna that you suggest and match perfect. At the beginning had issues w/ the SWR but was able to cut it down with a meter. Thank you for the video very explainable. 73’s I’m also a ham KD2VRL, NJ.
Great to hear that, thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
When I saw this the first idea I had was putting a power pack on there. Glad it worked beautifully done
Great video! I just found out about this radio looks great. My last CB was a cobra 29 LTD that I had in a 'a74 Opel Manta. Still have the 29 though I haven't used it since 1977 as I have not had a vehicle I could mount it in. This would be great in my grand caravan that I am getting ready to be a stealth camper. BTW I just subscribed.

Good info on this radio, thanks for do it. I've been hesitant because of the price, but being able to have that unit separate and work off usb has sold me. I'm going to get one of these for my Jeep for when I'm out on the trails to connect with other people on the trails.
This seams like neat little radio. Was looking for radio for my van caus have the galaxy 959 in my truck. But this seams perfect for small cars and vans. Great review like the intense review.

Thank you for the video report... At present trying to find out if available here in the UK!! Can see this radio resureecting my interest in CB since 1981... Thanks again Paperclip UK
At present the 75 All Road has FCC and IC certifications and is available only for the market in North America.
Great Shame! Any chance of leaning on Cobra to produce it for the UK and European market. They would make a big following happen and I personally would be at the head of the queue to put my hands on one. John G1IQN/Paperclip UK
Thank you for your comment, It is not available in the UK at this time,. I will look into it. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
Thanks for the info
Have one Ptt blue tooth. Blue parrot head set ok for car or truck bluetooth !! Awesome set !
I would like to see a range test video 👍🏻
I kinda did in the video lol, Cobra I think only says a max at 15 ft-30 ft. It's meant to be in a car or room not across a house or park. The video shows some cool options for people to try and clearly shows it performs past manufacture claims I was impressed. Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow ! This is the best informative video for this. I want to buy one and this video take me out of doubts .
Love the radio. I would mount it in my 80 Series LC! Thanks for your videos!!
it looks great. this is the new version of my old 75 cobra. It will be the solution for the van.antenne at the back and me sitting in the front...🙂
Very nice radio! Thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
This video had great info. I plan on putting this in my motorhome. Do you think an antenna on the dash of a class A would work ?
I would not recommend an antenna on the inside, the antenna I used is a compromise but it works good for road trips and is incognito. I also listed a better antenna to use if you can in the video description, there are all kinds of mounting options for that antenna. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gives new possibilities for a HOA or apartment setup with the car outside👍
All kinds of great applications! Thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
Love that cb. How did you hook up that main unit? Cigarette lighter or hard wire ? Love the channel. Thanks for your effort 👍
Thanks for your video. A couple weeks back, when I heard we are going into a Sunspot upswing, I started looking at CB again. I was active in the '70 when I worked in the yar for UPS. We needed license back then: KEC0500.
I ordered a SSB base/mobile and a President Randy II HT. If I knew about this Cobra, I might have bought it instead of the Randy. Maybe I'll get it later for my Motorcycle/Sidecar. I wonder if it will BT to my Cardo helmet BT. I am sure audio will work. Keep up the good work. I have study materials for my Tech license and good folks like yourself are an antidote to the elitists. Thanks again, Lee in Mpls.
Also, I've been on GMRS for the last year and the one thing that was amusing on CB was skip. I missed that. With Sunspot activity on the upswing, DX should be pretty good.
Based on the Cardo user manual, you should be able to add the Cobra 75 All Road CB radio by pairing it as the "second" smartphone. The 75 All Road Bluetooth is designed to support pairing to any Bluetooth compatible headset. The Cordo has to "look" like a Bluetooth headset in pairing mode in order for it's SSID to show in the 75 All Road Handset Bluetooth pairing list.
This is awesome !! This is exactly what I need for my Hummer2 I have a blue parrot 350 already. Let’s do a video with my Limited edition Black beast. I call it TANK
Sounds like the radio will be a good fit, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome review been looking at this for a while , definitely picking one up 🧨 subscribed
Thanks for the great video. I’m going to get one of these for my motorcycles. I could take this back and forth between bikes with little effort. I just have to mount a CB antenna on my cruiser. The Goldwing already has an antenna. I can put the optional PTT switch on the handlebar. And pair the handset to my Bluetooth helmet.
That sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
To have a S.S.B would be fantastic!
Thx, nice review. I just installed mine and walking through the functions helpful. I appreciate your video.
Glad it was helpful, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the video. Ive been on the fence between a fixed and a handheld cb for 4x4 stuff. This seems like a very powerful compromise between the two. Definitely on the short list.
Thanks
Its a great option for many! Thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
Hi there have subbed , I’ve been on the Cb bands here in 🇬🇧 uk England for 40 odd yrs, couldn’t agree with you more , the division and snobbery some people have between Ham and Cb , in simple terms we are transmitting x amount of power through a wire , up an antenna, just happens Cb ers use less bands due to licensing, depending on your country , thanks for the video Shane uk 🇬🇧 26 Bravo Delta 33 😊
What antenna do you use with this? Great video btw!
The 75 All Road will work with any resonant CB antenna system! The "Black Box" component of the 75 All Road is the actual CB radio transceiver and is where the antenna jack is located. Connect your CB antenna to that jack and your in business.

Great review! That's an awesome CB!
It's alright your doing the best you can do
With the wireless range of the base unit & handset, one could use this CB rig as a rudimentary base station provided home, office, hotel room etc isn't too far from vehicle and both have adequate power supply🔌⚡️🔋 (don't run down car battery so as to need jumpstart!)
I can think of a lot of fun and scenarios To utilize The wireless features. Thanks for the comment don't forget to like And subscribe I really appreciate the support.
I love cb. I also love my gmrs.
I am just ge5ing into the ham idea. I will test for tech soon.
Al those sad hams out there. Don't be that way.
Great video.
My vehicle,/ minivan has no place for my radio .
Thank you for your comment, I just like 2 way radio I try not to get caught up in the politics of it all. I also talk on GMRS from time to time WRMB269. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
great that there is a cb radio like that, the mic/control unit connects wireless to the cb radio and a bluetooth headset can be used with it. a danger can be that the cb gets to hot in the car, not that that causes a fire. i would like to hear testrecordings of the noise reduction feature in that device in tx and rx, in the cobra homepage there is a testrecording that has that digital artificats that sound a bit like talking through a waterfall. autosquelch is a great feature in FM. how much KHz deviation does the transmitter do in FM ? soundquality depends much on the ammount of deviation, in amateurradio its usualy 5KHz.
Very cool unit. I'm very curious if this 75 All Road will pair up to a typical motorcycle headset bluetooth system, such as Cardo or Sena. I went to Cobra's website and looked at the FAQ of this product, all I could find about compatibility was the following, _You do not need a BlueParrott headset to PTT with the All Road. You can pair and use any compatible Bluetooth headset._ It did say later that the All Road *cannot* be paired with the bluetooth on a smart phone. The point of the Cardo and Sena systems is pairing to a smart phone to send/receive phone calls or any other audio for listening (music, podcasts, streaming, etc). The Sena and Cardo systems work okay for line-of-sight transmission to another compatible rider, and for what they are, very high quality units for the purpose. What they are lousy about is transmission distance, meshing with multiple riders or riders on an different brand system (Sena to Cardo, or Cardo to Sena). Been looking around to see if there is a CB radio unit that supports Bluetooth and could make the helmet systems work seamlessly with a CB radio 4-watt signal. Granted, the box and hand mic on this Cobra unit are rather bulky and not so all-in-one for a motorcycle setup. If a Cardo helmet bluetooth system would pair to the All Road, I can see the push-to-talk button mounted to a handlebar functioning just fine.
I was able to get it to work with a couple 3rd party bluetooth headsets you have to try it! Thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
I have two of these radios. Note that not all USB's work for this radio. It requires a 5volt 2.5 amp USB. Anything else will give you problems. Either the radio will loose it's connection with the black box or just shut off and not turn back on till you unplug the black box and restart the radio. It comes with a USB adapter for a cigarette light that works fine. So if you don't have a cigarette lighter then be careful of the amperage coming out of your USB. Just FYI.
Nice unit hope to win! 😊
Very innovative. Kudos to Cobra. I've been waiting for Cobra to step up their game like President has been with the George FCC. Great tests too. I wouldn't have thought about a bluetooth range test off the bat. Im subscribed! Im also a fellow RUclipsr. Very green and mostly prepping but covers CB and ham. Im posting a grounding and bonding video this weekend of my vehicle if you're interested.

Thanks for the support! I will have to check out your videos and I understand all too well how much work this whole RUclips gig is I don't think people have a clue how much time it takes to make these videos. I have many new videos that I have to wrap up but I was in the middle of moving so I'm really behind a ball to start getting some content out.
@kc9cuk yes sir. You ain't lying. That's what I've been telling my family. The biggest thing is the editing software. Combining tracks for titles and how Ling they stay on the screen, voice overs, making the video the correct resolution, splicing videos to add something in between, adding visual and audio fades and probably the hardest is royalty free music. I'm with you brother. Ill check more of yours today at work!
Does the US FCC CB class license allow for CTCSS function, that operates on FM?
It would be an appropriate update if not.
Thank you for your comment, great question I am going to have to double check on that but I don't believe they do. I will look into it. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
Manufacturers should disable CTCSS from 09/19, and the handbooks should advise to not use CTCSS on recognised SSB call channels (38/35) or on different road channels used in other jurisdictions.
It's great in the sense you can set a code, have the squelch off, yet hear nothing, unless the inbound transmission has the code. Even if you have a 9+ carrier dropping, stays silent!
Cheers again.
Great, for base to car setups, where you don't want home life disrupted by signals randomly breaking squelch.
I think I’ve commented on this subject here before maybe a year ago. Anyway, I prefer an all mode but Cobra has an interesting “piece of kit” with a convenient installment niche.
I think it may be a while if ever that CB manufacturers evolve to remote mountable control heads with a separate microphone being as there is still the trend towards big box rig installs being prolific.
Although I’m currently not active in two way radio since my Dad, a fellow ham went in the nursing home, and a good friend who I’ve been in the hobby with for 28 years past away, and talking to “strange men” 😆 on the radio just isn’t a thing for me anymore.
I haven’t gotten back on consistently in almost a year. Maybe it’s changed.
I doubt it.
Comment on Ham vs. CB radio as a licensed ham since 1996:
There is a degree of arrogance infecting some amateur radio operators simply because they took a test or series of tests to advance their operating privileges. It’s completely unjustified.
There are jerks in both services whether it’s on social media as well as on air. I think the jerks on social media tend to be more on the ham side, and it’s a toss up on air. Sometimes it’s in person. Too many people with advice to give when none was solicited.
Ham jerks on air are more prevalent on 80/75m and 7.200 mhz on 40, although I haven’t monitored in a few months to confirm that is still the case.
I assume so.
On CB, there is a prevalence of immaturity in radio skill. It goes with the territory. CB can be a gateway drug to better services. It was for me anyway.
Both services have advantages.
I recall one of my favorite local 2m personalities referring to CB as the calamity band, and that’s an accurate description.
Ham radio has devolved that way on some of the HF freqs.since removal of the code tests but maybe it drew more people in, more of the right people would be preferred.
Now I’m coming across as arrogant 🤦♂️
All I can say is “when in Rome do as the Romans do”.
CB has its lingo, loose qso, and ham has a more rigid protocol.
If CB’ers who are the lifers would just lay off the power and use it as it was intended, that would clean up so much of the clutter although propagation would still have some effect.
It the government’s fault. Allocation of CB to 11 meters instead of VHF placed it in a part of the spectrum that favors skyward propagation and more interference from line noise.
Oh well, gateway drug/service. There’s something better out there but the jerks are there as well.
To be honest, I only got to half of this video. I stumbled onto it because I was looking at putting a cb on my 2022 Honda Goldwing. Honda is pretty pricey and only 1yr warranty. So $1300 and a set of instructions gets me a new, not the greatest cb. I realize that the main thing in CB is an adequate antenna, and the ground plane, right? What ground, the bike is all aluminum framed! The project to disassemble most of the bikes body panels is not for the general public. ( The complexity of the assembly of the body panels is very specific, complex). Anyway the previous generation had long whips , this version is only 33” or something like that. Is this why the guys say it doesn’t get out far? I’m a cb guy from the 1970’s and a K-40 antennae was very strong in my custom van. ( large ground plane)
Nice Video 👍🏻 this Radio is cool and in Germany Not to bay 😔

Great review: Do you know if you can use the PTT and a BT headset? Was told it was one or the other :(
The Handset PTT button remains active while using a third party Bluetooth headset. Same with the Cobra wireless PTT button. Meaning, if you pair the Cobra wireless PTT button to the All Road along with a third party Bluetooth headset and use it to activate the transmitter along with the All Road Handset PTT button. So either one will key the transmitter :)
They definitely both work at the same time I tested it myself. Thank you so much for your comment and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if the handset will work through the car’s
Aux-USB?
The Handset power requirements are very very low. It should power from your car's AUX-USB easily.
Thanks for the Comment! Please like the video and subscribe to the channel it really helps and we appreciate it.
@@Chris-lm3nt I found out that the mic doesn’t work through the car’s Aux-USB. Had to use a cigarette lighter adapter.
I'd like to see this installed on different motorcycles

GR8 teview sir! I'm interested in installing a cb radio (which I know nothing about) in my Jeep for offroading. This video explained this unit very well and also was informative about most features on other brands. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment, I really to make them as short but still give as much info as possible glad you liked it. Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.

Cool radio
I agree it was a great idea, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
This might be a great alternative for the wife, she won't let me put a radio in her car because all the radios in my stack of unused radios in the garage are big and ugly. It'll be nice to have the box in the trunk where she doesn't have to see it, and maybe store the mic in the glove box where she doesn't have to see it until she needs to use it. Now I just need a clean looking small antenna. She's not a fan of my 102" whip on my 4x4.
The President New Virginia is a CB antenna designed to resemble common AM/FM antennas on modern SUVs.
Thank you for your comment, to be honest I have it for that reason I like that it is out of site out of mind "hidden" Please don't forget to subscribe and like the video it really helps the channel.
Great review
Two questions.
Is there a chance you can check power output? Just wondering how close it is to 4 watts out of the box.
How is power draw while turned off? Thinking about putting one on my quad ATV. Wondering if it will slow kill my battery when parked for extended periods.
Yes, the power output was right at 4 watts on am and FM. I did check the amp draw on standby 12v with dc clamp meter it was extremely low in milliamps I don't remember the exact number sorry I also checked it on 5v with a USB load meter but it was so low it wouldn't register on the meter. So it's very low but it does have a small amp draw on standby, Thank you so much for your comment, and don’t forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Black Box Transceiver is designed to go to sleep in the OFF state. The typical current draw in the sleep state is around 25mA. To put that into perspective, take a typical car battery charge capacity of around 80Ah. Divide 80Ah by .025A will equal 3200h (hours). That's about 133 days until the battery is fully discharged. If that's an issue for your particular use case then consider powering the Black Box from a switched 12V source or just install an inline switch for your ATV setup?
Just ordered one for my pickup. Thinking I’ll put the black box inside my cap and mount the antenna on my cap so that I don’t have an to run an antenna wire through the cab
I also bought a President McKinley II for another truck. It has a skip feature during scan that is very useful and needs to be added to the Cobra 75.
