It wasn’t Vacheron. Cartier gave us the modern men’s wrist watch! That’s enough to earn them a very special place in horology!
Hey there great video, I work for Cartier in Tokyo, and this is my first Cartier and still my only Cartier watch. I wear it pretty much every day. So versatile, and like said, the wearability is amazing. I almost always wear the SS, but you prompted me to switch out for tomorrow. Originally I was leaning towards the Large size with blue dial, but really glad I went with this one. Classic, clean and just fits my wrist so much better. My friend at work was part of the reintroduction of the Santos in 2018 in Marketing in Paris, I’ll tell him tomorrow how much you were gushing over the watch. He’s truly proud of it, it genuinely makes him happy to hear people loving on it.
@@Violet_Lotus_ not really. People wear other watches besides Cartier. Cartier is part of the Richemont Group, with several other high end watch makers. I have worn my vintage Omega to work before. Agree - ordered my new Large blue dial 3 weeks ago - its in - picking up soon - can't wait - underrated for sure - It will probably (well, it will be) a scratch magnet but sometimes you need to take a risk - in addition, it will be in the collection and in rotation so certainly will not be a daily - The watch is too beautiful to pass on at retail - I love the size and thinness too.
Hey Britt, Thank you for pinning the approx. 12,000 gauss. I want that luxury experience Cartier will no doubt bang out to me. Awesome vid! Love the delivery as you always make it fun!
About 30 yrs ago I bought one for myself. I'm a British male and at that time I was doing well in my business etc. I loved it though I felt the bracelet always pinched the hairs on my wrist... Right now I am looking for another watch (I sold the Santos many years ago) and have found the Santos again. I don't have the money for a new one but for me the XL Chrono is just wonderful. On an alligator strap too with a rubber strap for a change up now and again. Also these watches are bullet proof. Built like a tank and will last and last.
Fell in love with the Santos in 1990. Quit smoking and made a deal with the devil. I buy the watch and if I start smoking again I have to give it away. I still have the watch and good health. A win/win. Under/over rated? Under all the way but that's why I love it. Go to a sales meeting and it's all Rolex except my little Santos.
Great video. I have the large version and wear it all the time, more than my Rolex GMT "batman" which I bought back when you could walk into a Rolex dealer and walk out with a watch. I agree the Cartier Santos is a good value.
I bought the medium Santos yesterday. It is spectacular. 8.83mm thick and pure class. I do not understand how so many other sports watches are more hyped than this, but I’m happy I got one without jumping through hoops.
I have been thinking of the santos for a long time, but after your video I decided to pull the trigger and ordered it on Dec. 31st. Thank you for that 😊
OMG this dialogue was in my mind!! I just started thinking about this perfect watch it ticks all the boxes !! Yet no body really rave about it 😅 I love it and I need it in my watch collection soon! Thanks for the video ❤️❤️

Just got one last night! its amazing, best bracelet i have ever felt. Also the boutique said they got the call last week that these are going on a "massive shortage" and i got the last one they might see until after christmas.
Tried one on at my locals AD and I agree that it is an amazing watch. The medium was a perfect fit on my 7 1/4” wrist. It goes with everything. My only real concern is that the prominent bezel is a scratch magnet.
i literally bought the new Large Santos just for fun, after watching your video. I thought, If i don't like it.. I'll flip it for $100 more than RRP... But then i realize i love it soo much that I ended up keeping it.
Nailed this one Gringa! The Santos is all about the design, juxtaposed of industrial and elegance. The watch doesn't specialize in anything. Is it a sports watch? No, there's no lume. Dress watch? It passes, but the industrial elements and sporty looks get in the way. The area it excels in is an every day wear. While not specializing in anything, it never looks out of place and always looks great.
The Santos was the watch that brought Cartier into my notice. I was impressed with the really clever bracelet design and eventually bought a 2018 one preowned in 2020. That was the entrance to the rabbit hole. Since then I have added a gold Tank Americaine, a steel Tank MC and a gold Tank Louis. Cartier is something of a preowned bargain. I have my eye on a Tank Francais but it is in Germany so I will have import taxes to contend with and that pushes the price up a touch more than I would like!
Oh you’ve gone FULL CARTIER MY FRIEND! And I respect that! 😱😱 I really could get lost in the world of Cartier! I want a Santos, a Pasha, a rose gold tank! 😱❤️

Yeah first time I saw this watch I lost my mind!!! I couldn't sleep at night from thinking about the santos. Next thing I know I was at mayors getting my large two tone. 🔥 sexiest watch I've seen in a long time.
My Santos Medium is my most recent piece as of now, being purchased in April 2021. It’s hands down my favourite. After wearing my divers and other sports pieces from other prestigious Swiss brands, putting the Santos on takes it to a whole different level. The slim bracelet and the way it articulates so perfectly around the wrist, the thin case and perfect mix of industrial and class aesthetic making it truly universal for situations and occasions. It’s also my most accurate piece at +1/day…and don’t get me started on the dial and those blued hands! 😍 My only gripe is that mine isn’t solid Rose Gold!…Maybe one day 😂 Especially if they did a chocolate dial!!! 🙏🤞👀. The strong anti-magnetic characteristics are also due to the incorporation of a soft iron cage around the whole movement 👌
Kinda an odd question so sorry in advance but are you a medium built guy? I’m trying to figure out my size I’m 6 foot 180lbs and kinda wanna go for a large but not sure I have no local dealers that sell these in my area so kinda gotta guess.
I just bought a medium two tone , it’s quite literally so perfect Gringa, that I’m questioning the rest of my collection 😅😫 I know you’ll have your rose gold Santos when the passive income truly kicks in, only a matter of time! Subscribed.
Its my fav too and i love it. I cant choose between the all steel ot the two tone. Any reasons one is better than the other? Like if the gold wears down too quickly and the steel is a better choice long term? Im amazed that its $4k more for the two tone though.
It is a nice watch. I think the most underrated watch is the JLC Reverso Duo Face. Not too many watch enthusiasts list this watch of their must have list.
Had my Santos XL for 11 years now and it sits nicely along side my Panerai collection and wears well with my casual dress or my slightly more smarter days, and excellent all rounder🙏😌🙏
Great video, highly recommend the santos to anyone sitting on the fence. I picked up my blue dial a couple of months ago and has been my go to watch since!
@@BrittPearceWatches thanks 🙏 Some hairlines developing on the bezel but eh wear it and have fun haha 😂 Harsh lighting and photos definitely make the scratches stick out more, not as noticeable in person.
Great review! I didn’t really like the santos for a while, and now I definitely do. I’m planning on making it my next purchase. The new Fortis Marine Master M40 is seriously punching above it’s weight. The applied indices and finishing on the dial rival anything I’ve seen. The lume is absolutely incredible. I would love to see a watch gringa review on that piece! Fortis as a brand doesn’t get enough recognition and that release is definitely under rated for now. Be well!
Change Your Mind? I think you've changed mine! When I was at my AD last weekend ordering the Tudor BB58 Pepsi GMT, I was walking back to my car, and saw a Maison Birks store that carries Cartier watches. I only knew about the Cartier Tank, so went in to try it on. While there I spotted the large Carrier Santos, so asked the rep to try that one on as well. Well, WOW, WOW, WOW. It is the best fitting watch I have ever placed on my wrist, hugging the angles of my wrist perfectly. It's now jumped on my list replacing the JLC Reverso Tribute Duoface
@@martinbacon847 Hi Martin, yes, the Tudor Black Bay 58 with Pepsi bezel is a GMT. A true GMT watch. I think it is a new release in 2021 and is on the cover of the Tudor 21/22 catalogue
I’m seriously thinking about one of these but in the black dlc coating. Would love to know your thoughts on that example. I haven’t had the chance to try one on yet but hopefully soon.

Lady Britt, I just discovered your channel and what an amazing channel it is. The release of this video was on my birthday 2021 as it shows. Fantastic video on a fantastic watch I would like to add a few things. Cartier was created in 1847. It has a history of jewelry by a gentleman with a vision. The first wristwatch was created in 1904 one year before a young German gentleman would introduce the Rolex. Whereas to Rolex was fully marketed to high achievers, and this was the principle, vision and direction of the creator, to which marketing was primary and very important to this day. Cartier, on the other hand created art, they created design. They were the masters of it, with a accomplished was jewelry pieces and time pieces with rich history, rich, romance, and rich soul. When you learn of the history of each individual product, it becomes part of you. It becomes part of your identity. That is the magic of Cartier. I worked at Cartier for about a year in 1988 I when I first came to see the Santos watch, it was a Breathless. The design was like no other. It was created at a time where the industrial revolution in the US was going on so whenever you see the screws on the watch design and on the band, there’s an instant connection to the industrialist and your soul. Everywhere in the world, the representation of a fastener, the screw used in time pieces and jewelry was genius. The shape of the actual design was unlike anything else at the time. Such an amazing, classic timeless horological legend. Cartier would then later on go on to add the love bracelet to its product line, which complimented the time pieces. Created by an Italian designer who broke up with his partner, this fantastic simplistic bracelet, which so happen to have screws also. Tiffany turned him down, Cartier saw the value. It instantly became another classic along with the watch. So many times when you see a lady with a Cartier time piece, chances are she has a love bracelet on the other wrist. Perhaps you have one Britt? 😊 The Cartier Santos edges out other luxury brands, such as Rolex, because it was created out of the need of a pilot, friend, and with the ultimate and design, thinking since 1847 produced this magnificent creation. It has romance, it has history, and you’ll never get tired of looking at it. Just a few thoughts. Great, great RUclips channel, I applaud you, Lady Britt.
Hey, I am always trying my best to get back to everyone! ;) Especially anyone who comments in the first 24 hours! From there, I just can't. But, it's a two-way street! It's a dialogue, not a lecture. Why ask people to comment if you're not going to engage with them, y'know?! Anywho, I totally get that it's a bit blingy! A bit of a scratch magnet too. But I'm just too in love with this watch!
I think it looks great on your wrist. I picked up the Santos Dumont Le 14 bis. I'm not generally a two-tone fan but looks great on this one with the sunburst anthracite dial.
I own the XL 100 version in both the classic white dial and blue dial. Absolutely love these pieces. Amazing bracelet technology. The XL is only 38mm diameter, so it's not exactly extra large. With the case shape it does wear closer to a 41mm watch though. The wrist presence is perfect for me. Cheers Gringa Goddess 😃

Had my Santos XL for 11 years now and it sits nicely along side my Panerai collection and wears well with my casual dress or my slightly more smarter days, and excellent all rounder🙏😌🙏
I just bought a medium Santos too. Love it!
I think you have one of the best rates like vs unlike in HISTORY. How could anybody ever put unlike on you? My god 😂
Lol! OH TRUET ME, there are people! 😂❤️❤️ thank you so much darling!
The Santos also comes in three sizes, so it will fit any size wrist.
Love the watch. I own the middle size too. It is stunning and an exciting watch. Omg I love it so much.
Gah! Such a fabulous watch my friend! Keep wearing it in good health!
im wearing the large blue dial santos it might be my favourite watch of all time
Great video, highly recommend the santos to anyone sitting on the fence. I picked up my blue dial a couple of months ago and has been my go to watch since!
Very well said! YAS! The blue dial is just divine!! Keep wearing it in good health! Have you found the polished bits scratch easily?! 😱
@@BrittPearceWatches thanks 🙏
Some hairlines developing on the bezel but eh wear it and have fun haha 😂
Harsh lighting and photos definitely make the scratches stick out more, not as noticeable in person.
It is super underrated! I have one coming soon to me! Im getting married in 2 weeks so i would want to have it by that time! Thanks for this video!
Congratulations on getting married! And what a great choice of wedding watch 💪🏽💙
RIIIGHT?! Ahhh no way! biggest congrats EVER with the upcoming wedding! And I realllllly hope you get one in time! Keep me in the loop.
@@watchpapi thank you !! Im very glad i made this choice
@@BrittPearceWatches i will! Thank you very much for your best wishes haha! Keep doing videos love them alot!
Be well!
I just recently tried a vintage 29mm model and dang... I think I'm gonna get one soon
Gah! SOO GOOD! ❤️🔥
Is there a BB58 GMT?
@@martinbacon847 Hi Martin, yes, the Tudor Black Bay 58 with Pepsi bezel is a GMT. A true GMT watch. I think it is a new release in 2021 and is on the cover of the Tudor 21/22 catalogue
I think the Black Bay GMT is a 41 mm watch.
@@martinbacon847 yes, it is 41mm
@@martinbacon847 No, there isn't. Just the standard Black Bay GMT, no 58.
I’m seriously thinking about one of these but in the black dlc coating. Would love to know your thoughts on that example. I haven’t had the chance to try one on yet but hopefully soon.
“I got a Cartier… just not for me… my hubby bought it for himself!” He and I = kindred spirit
Hey Britt, I love your channel. Some time ago, I somehow didn’t like rectangle shaped watches like the Santos or the Reverso. I don’t know how, Things have changed.maybe it’s related to the way we perceive things as being beautiful. Now I feel that I have fallen in love with the Santos. I think I’m gonna buy one soon (but only if I can afford it! :-)
Whoah bold claim and I like that as always you just throw your strong opinions out there. I agree! My wife’s husband just bought one for himself too 🤪 but I/He got the grey dial 😍
Your wife’s husband made a great choice.
I’m jealous of your wife’s husband! 😜😂❤️❤️❤️
Does the bracelet technology limit you to only buying Cartier straps?
Gringa what can I say except for BRILLIANT, loved 💕 this VLOG so very much, inspiring & made me think 💭 how we often overlook the classics 🙏❤️🤜. PS. BIG CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 to Watch Papi as well on the new Cartier Santos 🥳
Thank you 🙏🏼
Lady Britt, I just discovered your channel and what an amazing channel it is. 😊
The Cartier Santos edges out other luxury brands, such as Rolex, because it was created out of the need of a pilot, friend, and with the ultimate and design, thinking since 1847 produced this magnificent creation. It has romance, it has history, and you’ll never get tired of looking at it. Just a few thoughts. Great, great RUclips channel, I applaud you, Lady Britt.
Watch Papi’s new watch is a stunner! Great look, history and innovation! Now put it back on James’ wrist! 😅😆🤣😂🔥🍀
Cheers Jock 🥃
@@watchpapi cheers James! 🥃
I get it! It’s just too bling for me personally. Btw, respect how you try to respond to all comments. Nobody does that anymore. Cheers.
Great video gringa, just got the Santos blue dial, very happy with it, and my wife got a Tank Francaise haha all best from Mexico City, un beso mi gringa guapa!
Btw, although is great, the Santos is a magnet for scratches. That’s the only thing I don’t love
Wow real watch review🤩
The Santos is definitely on my Christmas list this year.. great watch, awesome video Gringa!! 👍🏻👍🏻
It's officially on mine too! ;) Thank you so much darling
Cartier Santos is most Elegant Watch Ever Made

Absolutly beautiful. I've tried it on, I love small sizes ( I'm fond of 36mm +_). Been eyeballing it for quit awhile. Great review! :)
