This makes me cry. Cry because innocent new shooters that don't know any better pay for training like this, or will walk away from this video believing this is viable defensive shooting training. Slap some official brand like NRA or USCCA on something and people will believe anything.
100% agreed. I don’t know who started the “shoot then follow the person to the ground” thing but it’s ridiculous. There’s so much better training on RUclips than this nonsense.
It is good practice to scan, but this is ridiculous. Even if you were to do this in an active situation, with adrenaline pumping and your nerves on edge, you wouldn't even notice any other threat through this. You need to do a thorough scan 360 of your surroundings, otherwise you really get no advantage from the scan and you'd be better off just not scanning period
Instructors have wayyyyy too much time on their hands. They remind of the "safety department" at work. Coming up with foolish ideas, to make their jobs seem more relevant. Following the target to the ground, and then scanning the area???? Really!!!!!???????? Goes to show... People will do ANYTHING to seem different. No matter how cheesy it is. lol. Sorry. Stuff like this gets on my last nerve, and takes a lot of seriousness away from an otherwise good, informative channel. It's getting out of hand. Geekster level is maxed out at 11!!!!!
Keep'em coming! I'm always looking for new drills, particularly those that can be done at indoor ranges. By the end of winter I'm reaching to find new drills that don't get or feel too repetitive. Now that warmer weather's here, we can do a lot more with outdoor ranges.
I pray and hope that this is not taken as being overly critical, however, since this is a conceal carry training tool shouldn't these "Tactical Tuesday's" reflect that? I grew up in the Army (as an infantryman & LEO academy graduate) that you train as you fight. Now I completely support "open carry", however, conceal carry is a much better option if your state allows that. I know that I am probably preaching to the choir here, but the element of surprise is almost always on the CCDW carriers side. Those that I train, will use this training drill, however, from the conceal carry position. Love your channel and the information that you post. God bless the "Sheepdog" ;)
Scanning the ground, after you shoot, looks ridiculous. lol What are you doing? Looking for the bad guys wallet? Most people aren't gonna hit the ground, after being shot. They'll be flailing around, holding their wounds. Then, they'll probably go down, or come at you.
Check out some scenario-based training here:

Is the dude on left scanning for mice?
Yea these instructors are wack. Anyway I’ve seen guys that aren’t so called certified instructor.. that blow them away
That scan deal is absolutely and totally unnecessary...range theatrics!

Yea it's stupid
You guys should clarify in the title that this is Bill Drill V2. You are going to confuse people otherwise.
Great point!

Excellent demonstration and good follow up commentary.

"Looking for [their] wallets" 😂😂🤣
They are looking for their brass to make sure they can get a clean getaway…..after knowing they probably shouldn’t have shot the dude 😂
👍
I know this is an older video. Jeez. Stop with the follow the target to the ground. That is some range BS.
Please do not shoot like these clowns
