Dry Fire Mag made a world of difference for me. Tactile feedback and repetition. Its downside is that you're not supposed to rack the slide with it inserted, but for draw and fire drills it's great.
Really happy that DryFireMag has finally come out with the P365 variant of their 'SmartMag' so I can practice my dry fire training without needing to reset the slide.
Nice. I’m an instructor and always teach overhand rack. Works on all semi autos. I understand you can be faster with the thumb release method. I also carry Glock. They have a very small slide lock. Just doesn’t work for me. Good drills and can’t preach enough. DRY FIRE!!! Trigger control is a quickly perishable skill.
Another drill I practice is drawing while I'm carrying items (e.g. my phone, bags of groceries, etc.). Starting w a handful of stuff & just dropping it all isn't a natural response. Great vid, hope my 2 cents is helpful.
Mantis X, DryFireMag, SnapCaps, SIRT pistol...all add to the dryfire routines I've used over the years. My favorite is using the DryFireMag and Mantis system.
Love to use the laser cartridge inserted in chamber and two small laser targets that flash and beep when hit by the laser. Great practice. Great for being able to practice things like drawing from a holster and popping magazine out and reinserting it. Things I'm not allowed to do at the range. Also, being able to move and get off the X. Another thing that is not really allowed at the range.
@joegonzalez8827 I got them on Amazon a while back. I don't think they sell either of them anymore. Pretty sure the laser cartridge was called Pink Rhino. Not sure what brand the targets are.
Great drills! I personally use Mantis Laser Academy and also Mantis-X with a dry fire magazine. This allows me to run the Mantis-X drills without racking he slide to reset the trigger between shots.
Awesome Video!! a few years ago, I started with dry fire training cards and video. After that it was studying just different videos. Looking at Mantis though. One drill I like to do is "Lights out" reload. It makes me know my equipment in the day and night. Also, Beautiful K9.
A fun one (other than being left handed) go from something like a Walther PDP with large serrations on the slide and an ambi lever slide release to a Sig 365 without all that stuff makes dynamic mag chages an intesting event.
This is pretty much the drill I do, but with one diference: as I change targets I point the muzzle down, so to avoid pointing the gun on people or things I don t want to shoot. A draw the gun directly on the new target in the end. A cop gave me this drill
Thanks! Very informative for this newbie to guns. Recently purchased a Taurus G3C and a hellcat pro (haven’t shot either yet). First time shooting a couple of days ago. Brand new! Lots to learn it seems
You're very welcome! Thank you for your support and congratulations on your purchase! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions at all.
Great ideas to increase my skill level. I use the DryFire mag that resets my trigger. It works great but the reload drill will need to be with real mags. Thanks for the suggestions!
Sharing my reload drills, and dry fires is also recommended to security guards, We recommend differential reloading trainings to security guards.... not to police or military. back reloading, reloading at your back while maintaining your sights to your targets , (reload on you butt). Blind fold reloading, Focused eye reloading.. . Intentionall wacth movies while permorming a standing speed reload, sitted on hill, atlernated leg squatted reloading.. until the movie is finished. Dry fires march rack, reloading March rack, running dry fires, running rspeed reloading , and also jogging untill dehyrated or exhausted.
I have 6 different targets spread around my dojo at various heights. I use a G-Sight cartridge and work from various distances and lighting conditions.
Very well explained, great job repeating what to do. Nice pace at flowing through the training. Would like to know what holsters this feels like to use the most. And are you comfortable with your holster in the belly section?
i got a shot timer app on my phone. i do about 50 reps a day. only takes about 10 min. my skills of drawing from holster and putting shots on target has increased exponentially. btw you look like you could be nick cages cousin.
I dry fire a couple of times a month. I also practice my holds, grip and posture daily, walking around my home. My dry fire sessions involve taking up various fire positions, firing at multiple targets, in multiple situations. It's also an opportunity to ensure my kit is laid out like I want it and that everything is instinctively where I expect to find it. It's a lot of fun. It's airsoft. 😂
@ I am performing home drills, draw from side holster, snap caps and dry fire. With my busy schedule I try to get to the range every other week. ( I wish it was every week) Thank You.
You are a great instructor. I would however mention one thing. At times you do not look directly at your holster when you holster the pistol. I'm a Stressful Encounter or not one really doesn't know what could have gotten in the way which could possibly either imped the reholster or worse cause a negligent discharge. That could be catastrophic especially with appendix carry!!! Just a thought.
Good Dry Fires Drills! I really like the emphasis on "getting off the X" during the drill. I always use a rack vs. slide release, since my carry pistol since slide release is very difficult to use.
When aiming small to miss small, it seems like there is a risk to be too narrowly focused and not being sufficiently aware of surroundings. Could you comment on that?
Simple question here, because the answer will probably be obvious. I have a bit of a gut. For those of us who have a keggar instead of a six pack, what's the best alternative to appendix carry? I carry at my 4 o'clock, but that seems less responsive in a situation if I need to draw.
I could never ever carry appendix. I've tried many times. I can't sit while doing that! Driving? No way. And I'm 6 ' 1" / 195lbs athletic build. I'm a 3:30-4:00 IWB and a 3:00 OWB guy. I feel your pain. I also only know of 1 guy that carries appendix. He's a super slim young buck that works at our local pew supplier.
I never look in the gun when I'm changing mags .Maybe it's just a habit ,I mean I'm looking at ,it but not concentrating. like I said training ,training ,training.
What dry fire equipment do you use?

If a person doesn't have gun? Can person clear house or building with knife?
@@wecanwatersports4151technically yes, if said person is a modern day ninja with lightning speed if the intruders are armed.
@@richiev63you’re not supposed to rack with the dry fire mag in? Does it say that in the instructions??

I do dry fire concealed draw practice in a full length mirror. I haven’t beat him yet but I’ll keep trying.

Great comment.... Great idea

The focus on draw speed, transitions, and reloads really speaks to practical improvement

This is one of the most useful gun videos I’ve seen in a while! Thanks a lot.

Super Helpful to get any input I can ,and I always get to TV dry firing whenever I watch the news!

Mantis elite for target practice at home. I definitely see an improvement in my accuracy spending 20-30 minutes a few times a week dry firing.
Wow, awesome I am going to practice the step to draw and eye to target right away.

The two biggest time segments in competition are the draw and reload. These are low hanging fruit and the quickest improvement you can make.

Why does this guy hair always looks so good.. he needs a commercial

What holster rig are you using. Thanks for the video
I have been thinking sing ‘Strikeman’ for a few years.
A rubber o-ring works well and protects a hammer fire gun.
What holster setup do you use? Any recommendations for glock 19 gen 3.

Grip strength. Pick up heavy things and carry them.

I also have a bit of a gut. I have a good spot at around 2:00 where my carry fits well.
I learned to carry appendix when I had 100 extra pounds and the solution was to pull my pants up.
Thanx for all the great instruction but, what I want to know.....who is that beautiful G.S. Please introduce us!
3:01: Don't you mean DECREASE your times (draw, target acquisition, reload, etc.) rather than INCREASE them?
How about open carry or shoulder carry drills
open carry is silly
Chito vera?
I like practicing, but the one thing i dont like about dry fire is the constant racking the slide. That develops horrible habbits.
I never look in the gun when I'm changing mags .Maybe it's just a habit ,I mean I'm looking at ,it but not concentrating. like I said training ,training ,training.
That’s my problem I try to shoot fast but don’t allow for the trigger reset and find myself flinching
What gun is that one looks like a glock but which model
Sirt has a few different models that emulate Glocks. The 115 is the G17, the 115c is the G19, the 110 is the 17/22, and 115s is the G45.
Good dog lying there!
I noticed he was looking at the gun while loading the next mag, would it be better to keep your eye on the target to not lose the sight picture?
Why do you look at the gun so much when changing the magazine? Shouldn't you do it blindly while looking at the target?
Idk why I thought it was Nicolas cage 😂
decrease draw time and decrease reload times. I dont want to increase these. :)
Waiting for Trench Grenade to hate on you 😅
