One big issue for their pool is that they don't have a fence around it. So their children could just easily fall in and drown

Their whole house has been built without the children as a priority. The children's playroom is minuscule compared to their living space. Their bedroom (just the one) isn't even completed and is also very small by comparison. There are no children's play areas outside nor children's play equipment yet they can afford electric blinds & all the other expensive furnishings including a self-playing piano... The children, it appears, are very LOW priority despite them protesting too much to the contrary.
