    Thank you for this video, very informative. I will be spending weeks in Oradea this summer with my girlfriend (who's originally from Oradea but lives here in Canada). Excited to visit your city and to get familiar with it.

    Transylvania was a region of Hungary for 1000 years before romanian occupation in 1918. City of Nagyvarad (Oradea) population before romanian occupation in 1918 was 90% hungarian.

    • @beyonddracula
      @beyonddracula  2 года назад +12

      Where did you get these numbers from? Genuinely curious. Also, Transylvania as a whole was never majority Hungarian even when under Austro Hungarian Empire and later Hungary, this is why it was partly ceded to Romania after the First World War and then entirely after the Second World War when Hungary lost the war because more than 60% of the population was Romanian. Regarding Oradea, Jewish people were forced to recognize the Hungarian language as their mother tongue during the time that Hungary was allied with Nazi Germany, that's why the numbers of the Hungarian population were inflated, until Jewish people were forced out of Oradea and into the ghetto, before being deported to Auschwitz. Please read all the history, not just the parts that fit a certain narrative.

      @@beyonddracula you need learn history !!! First was the Hungarian Kingdom , after that the Habsburg occupation , the Austro-Hungarian Empire was created only after 1867. Was a hungarian majority in Transylvania before the aggressiv vlach ("romanian") migration in XVIII. and XIX. centurys insisted by the Habsburg. The real colonization and romanianization of Transylvania started after romanian occupation in 1918 , more than 2000000 romanian was moved in from Moldova and Oltenia. @@beyonddracula For the record: Oradea is part of the historic region of PARTIUM of the Hungarian Kingdom after the battle of Mohacs 1526! Transylvania proper is between the Carpathian mountains. So Baia-Mare, Satu-Mare, Oradea, Arad are not Transylvania! and Timisoara is Banat!
