Yes, Amongst Starts. It's a must and no where near to disappoint. I mean, a lot of Amorphis is great, has always been. But with Anneke also featuring. It is just great, or better. Definitely more Amorphis too, but for now I'll just say that one. :)

Suggesting you check them out doing 'The Bee', and 'Amongst Stars', the latter featuring the very special Dane, Anneke Van Giersbergen.
I like Tomi's era Amorphis (Tomi Joutsen is the "new" singer). "Silver Bride", "Death of a king", "Amongst Stars" and "Wrong Direction" are great. And "The Bee" of course...it's quite interesting.

So... next reaction Amorphis - The Bee ;) Amorphis song are usually based on Finnish mythology and the Finnish national Epic Kalevala.
I love Tomi voice (clear and harsh). You have rigth, they come from Finland. If You want to hear Tomi growl try The bee (lyric video), Death of a King or Amongst stars (with Anneke).
Here is couple Amorphis songs The Smoke, The bee, Sampo and one you cant never miss Winters sleep
"The bee" would be good in a way, to see where they are now. And if you do it, yes, it's the same guy doing all vocals.
I hadn't thought about it, but I can see the similarity with HIM in there, instrumentally. Amorphis was (or at least well known) few years earlier, but I still think the similarity is mostly because of the fact that they are both in metal sub genre.

"The Bee" and "Amongst Stars" from their last album are good songs.
Another suggestion : "Rebirth" by Eluveitie. Eluveitie is a Swiss folk metal band. They include many unusual instruments for a metal band.

I remember seeing the leadsinger Tomi a lot in grocerystores and on the street before I even knew who he was!! I was introduced to Amorphis by my husband and imagine my surprise!! Really like their songs, "From the heaven of my heart" is one of my big time favourites. I usely run in forrest and when it hits my earphones, I just want to stop and admire finnish nature. It is also a song that plays in the backround of a light show in Tytyri mine here in his home town Lohja, Finland. "Amongst the stars" is also a great listening experience 👍

Amorphis is a fascinating band. Black death prog folk melodic metal. I have their Forging the Land of 10000 Lakes DVD and it's great. I'm not a big fan of their song with Anneke, but generally like their stuff

Amorphis - The Four wise ones
Hey, Johnny. New subscriber here. Good reaction. Amorphis is definitely up there among my favorite bands and I think Tomi Joutsen is the best metal vocalist of the planet today. He has amazing clean vocals and insane growls. I had a pleasure to see them live last year and this was one of the best concerts I've been to. "House of Sleep" is probably their most popular song, but it's one of the softer ones. If you want something heavier, I'd recommend "The Four Wise Ones" or "Death of a King". My favorites are "The Bee", "Silver Bride" and "Amongst Stars", which were suggested already quite a lot:) Please keep Amorhis train rolling:)

I think this song is quite understatement of Amorphis. The same thing applies to Silver Bride, Wrong Direction that I see also many people recommending. Amorphis really is a metal band. So take these to your list: The Bee, Daughter of Hate, Castaway (2010), Drowned Maid (2010). There's some of their greatest and also heaviest songs. The singer you see here, Tomi Joutsen, is far the best growler in the world. You will realize it in the future stuff ;)
Such an amazing band, and Tomi's vocals is perfect. I would like to see more Amorphis reactions, there isn't much out there and should be more. People are missing out on discovering this amazing band. I love them. Thank you for the reaction.
If you like this song, you might like the song "Wrong Direction" from their latest album. Slightly heavier than this, but sticks with clean vocals until the very end. Anything from their latest two albums is pretty much gold, but as far as songs with music videos Wrong Direction and Amongst Stars would be a good place to go next, then Death of a King and The Bee to hear something heavier.

The Bee and Death of a King are great
Queen of Time is an awesome album! If you want to hear Tomi growl, you'll have to listen to another song (maybe Death of a King, Daughter of Hate or Message in Amber...). He's a very versatile singer.
Amorphis varies quite a bit from song to song. It's all metal, but various different types of metal. Sometimes prog, sometimes folk, sometimes power, sometimes death.
Now when you have started to listen Finnish songs and other Amorphis songs have been recommended already, I want to be biased and recommend more Finnish bands: Poets of the fall - Carnival of rust. A bit different and slower song, but a beautiful piece.
Awesome Amorphis, be sure to checkout some of their newer material aswell i.e. songs. Death of a King, Sacrifice
Amorphis: Black Winter Day
It's an older Song but they rerecorded it with the "New" singer on "magic and mayhem" Kind of the bandhymn in the 90s. Saw a man crying as they put it back in the live shows in the mid 2000s.
Glad you checked out this song, I'm tired of people only requesting Amongst Stars and the Bee from the latest album. I don't even think they are the best songs on this album and neither do I think it's their best album, it is still great tho. If you wanna check more of their older stuff go for something from Skyforger like Sky Is Mine or From the Heaven of my Heart.

I've seen this band live a couple of times and I enjoyed their performance both times.
Their newer material is worth checking out if you want to hear him doing harsh vocals.
And as this early, they are well known in Finland (since they are from there). I really don't remember a lot from them by name, by voice, yes. Naturally since I've listened them also from the beginning, but for now. The comments down below. Silver Bride, Amongst Stars and like Bee and the Death of a King. All are great, and by great I mean, they are great. :) Mostly based on Finnish folklore (you can listen to the songs without needing a history lesson of sorts), but very good band to find out and I hope you also sometimes add a music from them while expoloring. :)

Yeah, the singer sounds very much like him. The melody, the theme in the intro that repeats, sounds very Finnish, like something like that comes in the hard rock, or like Finnish rock.

What’s funny is that old Amorphis was quite death metalish
Amorphis is one of the most amazing bands I have ever heard. In tie with Starset, Imminence and Nightwish. Evergrey still on top for me though. Can you react to Amorphis: The Bee next for this band? Tommy has one of the best growls in existance for me personally. He doesn't growl in this one though.

U should listen "Tales From a Thousands Lakes" - album. Totally different Amorphis. I love this song, coz I like melodic rock and metal and heavy, but early days Amorphis is really hard and deep metal.
If you want growls, check out The Bee by Amorphis, the song tells about ancient Finnish mythology so the lyrics may seem odd to you

No growling in this one. Tomi Joutsen is famous for his growling. Now that you said his voice resembles somewhat Ville Valo's (HIM) voice, I agree. Tomi's is deeper and stronger. Ville would need 20 years more of smoking. Lol
