I love how animated she is in this performance, it's obvious she loves this song.
Floor definitively has a gift, but how much work she has done to develop that gift should not be underestimated. Her voice is a very developed and highly tuned instrument through years of dedication, care and hard work.
Making it look effortless really means she has placed so much effort in making it right, it looks effortless to repeat the end result.
I love it when Floor stalks that mic. Going in for the kill. And she gets it every single time. This is the type of stuff I can't get enough of.
Greatest show on earth. Is exactly what you're wanting. You get to see floors full range. Plus the whole act(play). Music will never sound the same again. With everything they put into it.
@TheBlackiwid What he means is that the song is a "play" (more so in live versions). It's the history of our planet that has gone through many different stages and that's why they have squeezed in 5 parts into that story. I agree though that musically, especially in modern times when we are used to short songs, it can feel very drawn and boring at some moments but if you truly understand and appreciate the story behind the song even the first part makes complete sense.
Gotta say aswell that I kinda have a weak spot for pianos so sometimes I actually only listen to that first part :)

It's a misconception that it's about the universe and the big bang. It's only about the earth as it starts at 4,6 billion years ago. But yeah, Preston should absolutely take the extra time to do that song!

They are my Nr 1 of favorites bands. I hearing this band know for 17 years. And it will last to the end of my life. The 1st time I hear them was 2004 in a German show. Name was top of the Pop.

You are absolutely right. Floor's charisma and stage appearance are so hypnotic and addictive.
When your "GIFT meets your PASSION" is the best description of Floor I have heard in a while. She makes it look easy but everyone hangs on her every move and her every note. Her band- mates are exceptional musicians but the stage belong to Floor and they have no issue with that at all. Floor, of course, as is usual is always acknowledging her band mates for making her look and sound so good. I always tell people you DON'T listen to Nightwish you experience them especially with any LIVE performance. Great reaction and I would love to see them team up with The Warning, now that would be a show that would make anyone's bucket list!!!!!

Someone pointed this out in his reaction, but at the end when she goes into her operatic style on the 2nd chorus she has her arms out to her side with the palms down and right when the chord was hit and the flames shoot out she twist her wrist with the palms up. Just the little things she does without thinking only feeling the music thru her body and reacting to it so gracefully is what makes her stage presence so natural and strong. Well besides the voice. Lol
Edit ok looks like the palms are semi up but at that moment she gives a little twist and brings her fingers to her palm.

Bro there are like 20 top notch live songs that would blow you away by nightwish... They do whole concerts that are just insane from start to finish... 2 hours of epic goosebump inducing emotional roller coasters. MAGIC!!!

Greatest Show on Earth IS a play. Greatest play known to mankind, because it is the story of how this universe came to be... and us along with it.
Floor Jensen amazes me more than any other. She goes from operatic to rock/pop vocals in the same song or from a song to another easily. And for Floor to do those low notes so perfectly for a soprano is amazing. She has power, pitch perfection, emotion all wrapped together in her voice. Plus having great stage presence and beauty (am I the only one who think Floor Jensen looks like Xena) ?

Nice reaction. The key that Nightwish always got this kind of performance is that the got a real musician genius in their band (probs to Tuomas on the keyboard). He is writing almost all Songs of the band an figure out the story-telling of the Songs.

One thing I love about Floor Jansen is that she's been doing this all her life. She just wasn't getting the recognition in other bands, before joining Nightwish in 2012. You can look her up with the band she was most well known for, After Forever. She was slaying it back then just like she is now, the only difference is that now she's doing it in front of these huge audiences and finally getting the recognition she deserves.
You need to do more nightwish. You have a lot of great songs to hear. You have not even touch the surface.

Metallica is overrated by fans too much. They're not that great, I love them too but what Nightwish composes are light years ahead of them. They haven't produced anything good since the Black album.

I agree completely, but I'm not a big fan of growls. Used in small doses, like Nightwish use them, is fine.
Nightwish was my number one band until Jinjer came along into my metal world.. Floor is really versatile but her growls doesn't meet Tatiana's.. Tatiana doesn't have the classical voice Floor has..
To me.. if ever these two ladies have to be in the same Gig that would be the best dream ever.. no doubt..

@@ryanhalien8468 It's true. Tatiana's growls are on a different level from Floor's, but all of Floor's other skills are on a different level than Tatiana's so I'm sure Floor could find something to mix with her growls.
@@nok22m I agree. The growls are what kept me from being a bigger fan of After Forever and Epica. When used sparingly they can add an element of roughness that sounds cool, but, for me, it only works when combined with another vocal type. On it's own it's mostly noise.

Nightwish long time ago I listen but then I forgot about them and 2 years ago some guy share fb I listen and listen then I understand that singer are new so I check in RUclips and I was surprised after year I seen them live at London Wembley that voice is just beautiful amazing and incredibly nice and all show is something special. Floor had 48 hours to learn the lyrics for this concert. She was new member and everyone loved the old singer. She had to prove herself to hand and fans this night! Scary but rewarding for her!
