Don't worry about demotivating people. Those are the lazy ones that don't want to work for anything. They just wanted to be handed everything. You are doing great. Be you...for you.
DogTag Gamer really true
Not necessarily folks who don't want to work for it but folks who want to pretend there are not difficulties in anything you choose to set out for, y'know like helicopter or snowplow parents wanting to keep their kids' heads full of delusions.
Facts of life are facts none the less. Lack of Physics and Math? Fix it! It's just another step on the path.
Flying a plane, yea it's heavy and you need to be able to calculate things. Can't expect to just hop into the seat and 'wing it' - pardon the pun.
Plus better to know now before applying.
Making your audience aware of the requirements to become an airline pilot is not demotivating. It is simply requirements or prerequisites for this career path. Those who have finished school can pick them up online possibly. Good positive advice.
Brand new here and have been following this channel for several weeks now. I love airplanes and spent 16 years in the US Navy fixing than as an Aviation Electrical Tech. Worked on the F-4 phantom fighter jet, the F-14 , Top-Gun. Also worked on the A-4 Skyhawk when I was selected to join the US Navy Blue Angels. I wish everyone here the very best as you all pursue your passion for Aviation. All the best to you DutchPilotGirl.............you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also wish everyone here pursuing their dream in becoming a pilot and working your way up the Ranks!!!!!!!! All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely loved the suck it up attitude about the real world from someone who has been there and done that personally, young people need to here the truth from young people who are making their dreams happen by hard work work and not hollow praise - Thank You
You live in such a beautiful area of the world. My sis and I were last there a couple of years ago. For the people who always finding time to criticize, just ignore them and keep your positive attitude.
Thanks for this "behind the scenes" insight. It's nice to get a feel for who you are outside of flying as it puts flying that much more into perspective. I loved the montage you did at the beginning of some of the sights around Amsterdam. I was there once, and loved it. Always have wanted to go back and spend more time.
I first travelled to Amsterdam when I was 10 years old. I am now 67. I have been back many, many times both as a tourist and on business and I love the city and its people. Like everywhere it is not perfect but the people make it special and I have always rubbed along very well with the Dutch wherever and whenever I have met them. I love watching your videos as they are open and honest just like the many Dutch people I have met over the years. Thank you for posting them and long may they continue...
I am glad you have addressed the educational prerequisites aspect of pilot training. In my view, it takes a certain logic and mental attitude in times of stress while in the air. Not everything is glamorous...but this is true no matter what job or passion people pursue. So, telling it like it is...is good. At the same time, you present a good mix of things in another part of the world while doing your videos rather than just classroom stuff. Great job and keep up the good work.
Honesty is important and a gift to those inspired in pursuing their dreams. You can't get there without hard work and the proper knowledge.
Michelle, I like the road you walked away. The bicycles, vintage cars, coffee shops, small canal, classic houses they are just awesome. It’s clean and beautiful.❤
LOVED Amsterdam when I was there with the US Navy way back in the late 1950s...always wanted to retire there...
I was in Amsterdam twice in 2017 and 2018 and I love it!
You are a total realist and meet things head on! Cudos to you. Thanks for this episode.
Thanks for giving real world information. Also, thanks for giving us a brief view of your real life and your home. It is very refreshing.
Being a former B-17 Pilot, your videos really show the difference and improved technology of aviation. At least you fly in a nice temperature controlled cockpit as I flew in temps averaging 30 to 40 degrees below zero. Great videos. Keep up the good work. Also, you certainly are a beautiful young lady!
Thanks for keeping it real and for sharing a bit about your personal life too.
Thanks for sharing your life as a pilot. I'm about to begin training soon and I'm very excited! I love Amsterdam, been there and can't wait to go back!
Hello, DutchPilotGirl. This is a good break from aviation matters. I like that. I've only seen Amsterdam in commercials and ads, but it looks really nice based on this video. You're on the right track, Michela. I appreciate new sceneries, real life stories (no matter how grubby), and I eat Math and Physics for breakfast. I discovered you through Joey! I've been subscribing for 2 months now. Keep up the good work :)
Micel is not only beautiful, she is also intelligent and interesting. What a sweet person!
I love Amsterdam its just so laid back and not rushed....
I’ve always loved Amsterdam,,Love Ol town,,and the atmosphere,,,
The "problem" I had with Amsterdam when I visited was my neck strain from excessive rotations left & right. There were just too many beautiful ladies everywhere (like PilotGirl) and of course, the city itself is a jewel, the beers were great and the tulips were in full bloom.
Always wanted to learn to fly but my time is gone so I use a simulator at home and when I can I enjoy a flight ✈️ I also enjoy the information you share. God bless you always. Gil.
Math and Physics, yes! I had to go back to learn some important principles of both when I began flying 10 years ago, when I was 53, so yes, sometimes old dogs learn new tricks because they really want to enjoy something they dreamed about all their lives. Michelle, we need to see you walking in the frozen canals, nobody here in Southern California believes me that I saw that! At 2am ! Best Wishes Always...show everyone even more of A-Dam from your perspective in the future
I wish that one day I'll see Captain Joe, DutchPilotGirl and MentourPilot doing a video together
same
Pilot alexander
MentourPilot probably could be an instructor of DutchPilotGirl as they are both on 737🤣
And pilotmaria
It eventually happened on April 15, 2020, go check them out at MentourPilot.
Perhaps we can see a video of Amsterdam from your perspective. What you love about Amsterdam, that sort of thing.
Great video!..........very refreshing to hear someone not “sugar coating “ the real world. Thank You for your Show.....
I felt in love with that 5.1 surround sound in your livingroom.
Thanks for sharing this little video about your life outside of airplanes. I can see that Amsterdam is a beautiful city, with many bikes. From Argentina, a simple Xplane fan who always watches your videos and learns a lot, thank you.
First and foremost; thank you so much for taking what little personal time you have to share with us your life as a pilot. Honestly I have watched all your videos and I can honestly say not one has been demotivating. I think about today’s society and how we have what I call “fast food attitude”. We want things our way and we want them NOW. We don’t want to work for them. It’s a lazy mentality. This is why I enjoy watching you. You tell it in real life experience and don’t sugar coat things. So please, keep doing what your doing and, more importantly, how you are doing it.
I love Amsterdam. I walked where you were walking and I did a boat tour in Amstel river. Nice place to visit again. Unforgettable trip. I used to watch your videos no because I want to be a pilot, but because my father was, and a Flew with him several time in the cockpit. Now, I can understand the passion to be a pilot and how to difficult could be a commercial airline pilot. That why I feel a lot of respect to the air crew members specially pilots and co-pilots. Meantime I will continue traveling around the world, enjoying the aeronautical technology that make us live better.
Loved living in Volkel ... miss the Netherlands so much. Thank you for reminding me of just how wonderful it is.
Terrific edits and photography in the tour around the city centre. Big smile at seeing the two chaps on the bench with their Before and After hats!
Thank you for your generosity but to me watching your video is a blessed and it’s a wonderful gift 🎁 already! Thank you!
although i don't intend to become a pilot, i like the glimpse you give into what it's like
Thank you for sharing a little bit of your life with us.
This girl its so pretty beautiful
SteveC what do you mean?
LOL
clash gamer ddx are you fuckin kidding me
She already has a boyfriend.
And I mean Captain Joe
Mythical Duck lol
Thank you for the tour around Amsterdam it's awesome knowing your life
Thanks for your advice I do appreciate it
Math and physics are most important for many careers. It’s just stating the facts. You are being honest with folks which is the right way to be.
Love Amsterdam. Spent 12 months there a few years ago & look forward to one day going back :)
I always enjoy your videos. Don't worry about "demotivating" anyone if you are simply telling the truth. Keep up the great work and thanks.
Love the honesty of your videos
Thanks so much for giving us a glimpse of your life. Showing us your humanity.
Such a spectacularly beautiful city.
God bless.
Another great video Michelle. Amsterdam is one of my most favorite cities in the world to visit. You are so lucky to call it home!
I live in Amsterdam where do u live?
Amsterdam is on my bucket list! Love all the natural light in the apartment! Take Care
I enjoy your videos since I worked for TWA and I've spent time in Holland. Thanks
I recently found your clips. I like your way of making them. Specifically in your explanation of various aspects of day to day life.
A´Dam....One of the prettiest cities I´ve ever been to! Miss it sooo much!
Amsterdam is a great city. Thank you for sharing it.
Videos with you flying are great but you in your home makes for a closer connection to your fan base. Thanks for doing that and hope to see more.
Amsterdam is such a neat city. Attended the “Nutcracker Suite” around Christmas at the Stopera in the Muziektheater
It was THE BEST I have ever seen. Love to go back for other events……wonderful.
It gets quite chilly there in Winter…a lot like NYC.
Just found your channel and I find it to be both entertaining and informative . God speed and may you always have smooth air.
Enjoyed seeing where you live and your apartment. You were very candid about the requirements of becoming a pilot. The video is very informative for men and women who desire to become pilots.
Your days off look like what my day on used to look like. Amsterdam on Monday’s. We stayed across from the Central Train Station. On the edge of the Red Light District. Lots of great restaurants. I miss the bittenballs and the ribs.
I love A'dam! I used to live in Holland and although Im from the US, I still visit often. I love the country and the people. And the food is fantastic!!!
Math and physics are essential to know! And I have to agree with DogTag Gamer, some will and some won't. You're there for the ones that want to get off there butts and do it. Your videos help tremendously. Thank you and keep doing it as you see fit.
Watching your videos inspires me so much. It also takes my mind off things. As I've mentioned before in a previous comment I made in one of your other videos that I love to travel and flying just takes me to other heights. I should write a song based on the beautiful scenery your videos inspire. It's like watching an adventure short film. Also Amsterdam seems like a beautiful place to live in. Thank you kindly for allowing us to see a little bit of your world. Much appreciated. I wish you all the best in your exciting career. Much love from Canada.
Your videos are awesome! Thanks for sharing your awesome life with us. You motivate me to pursue my career in aviation. Your videos also motivate me to travel to and maybe even move to Amsterdam from the US cause that's where my family is actually from and it looks like a really cool place. Keep up the great work🤙🏽
One of my favourite cities in the world. Looking forward to revisiting my friends there as soon as the borders open from Australia 😊
Always nice to se the other side of youtubers…thanks for sharing with us!
" the Red light District is 10 mins away " always important to mention THE most important parts of Amsterdam first 😀
I recently visited this beautiful city. I stayed in Zaandam. Schipol airport is one of the most efficient I have ever went through , way better than Heathrow.
Thanks so much I really enjoy your channel I love your explanations of flying procedures it explains some things I have noticed when flying as a passenger Keep up the good work
I've been to Amsterdam twice! One of my favorite cities to visit....and no, it's not because of that district. I always recommend travellers new to Europe to start with The Netherlands because they get an amazing European experience, and the language is not a barrier because you are all so good at English! Next time, I MUST visit the aviation museum and big pilot shop there....I've missed it both times!
Yes It was really fantastic Airbus Vs Boeing with Captain Joe
Good to hear from a pilot who takes me all over the world
I cant fly and have no intention of learning but I enjoy your videos showing the views. Equally Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities and do hope to get back there one day.
I love your videos! They are interesting, educational and provides a lot of information. Never got to fulfill my dream of flying aeroplanes. So your videos provide glimpses of what it could have been. Keep on posting, the great videos you make. Your work is appreciated.
Awesome video! I was in Amsterdam in early May of 2016. Some of the shots in this video bring back memories. I loved it there and would go back again. Had lunch at San Tommaso Restaurant , the Warmoesstraat location, twice. Totally fascinated by your story and your down to Earth attitude. Just had to subscribe!
I love Amsterdam, glad traveling is back open. Getting my bags ready 😁
Your English is excellent.👍. Watched a few of your videos about your career! It is truthful and inspiring to men and women who wish to pursue a career in aviation.
Let’s all hope that the pandemic can be contained and aviation can make a come back to somewhat of what is was just a few months ago.
All the best to you, yours, and the men and women you fly with. Stay safe.
Cheers. !😄
stunning as always michelle love your video
Such a Dutch treat, DutchPilotGirl.
I love this city! Can't wait to visit again
Nice to see your beautiful town again! Last time I visited was in the late 1990s, so beautiful! Got my education at Embry-Riddle in Prescott Az. That was 1980, so long ago! Keep kicking it girl! LOL!!
OMG she is just so pretty!!
Glad I watched, I am now getting an indoor hammock. good idea.
Hey Michelle! I've watched a lot of your videos and really enjoy them, I would like to see what are the challenges that a student can face during early flight training such as PPL OR a comparison video of your lifestyle and career of your current profession as a professional airline Boeing pilot and your alternative option if you weren't a pilot.
Cheers
Nice to see a decent sound system set up in nice angles for surround...
Totally agree with you! I'm here in the U.S. and although a student here has access to the same subjects some need as little more push like me! 🙂
You seem so genuine, enjoy your content
Great vids keep up the great work! I love the different scene cuts! 👍
Can't help but love her.
BEAUTIFUL CITY, BEAUTIFUL GIRL or is it... BEAUTIFUL GIRL, BEAUTIFUL CITY!!! Hummmm....
Honesty good or bad always #1 at least for me... You and Captain Joe make great videos! I don't fly but Love aviation and physics, and Thank You🤪
Adding Amsterdam to my bucket
Looks like Copenhagen and downtown Reykjavik
Bless you😊
You are, without exception, the most beautiful pilot I have ever seen. In addition you are so well spoken and knowledgeable. Your videos are so well put together and are of high video quality! Keep up the excellent work young lady! Much love from West Virginia, USA!
You are a beautiful and talented girl. It's been one of my real regrets that I could not take up flying due to cash problems. A friend took me on a short flight in his world war 2 German jet fighter where I was able to take control after he taught me some simple aerobatics! Please keep the videos coming. I am hooked on them!😊
Thanks for sharing on where you live.
such a beautiful place
Great video loved seeing Amsterdam!
Wow this is really incredible footage! What an amazing place to live.
Hey! My virtual colleague, nice to see you here also. Small world isn't it? Of course being Dutch made me follow 'Dutch Pilot Girl'. This video gives a positive look at the city I was born and raised in. Have fun with your virtual flights and also keep posting video's on your own channel. Greetz, Ed
I need to visit Amsterdam again. I love museums and culture. Thanks for sharing a personal side of you. :-)
Michelle,
Always love your videos.
Love the apartment, been to Dam Square, did some street photography around there! Amsterdam is so amazing!!!
So beautiful and your place is also beautiful and bright.
I visited Amsterdam in 1985, beautiful City.. and the Dutch are so tall! The men and the women. I remember being in a supermarket and all the women I I passed in the aisles were close to six foot tall! At 5'8 I felt like a midget! I hope to go back next year, in 2020. Take care and fly safe! 🌹
Hey there, Michelle!! So very nice to see Amsterdam again. I used to have a friend, years ago, that lived in the Prinsengracht area of the city whom I used to visit about three of four times a year, and vice versa. At that time I lived in the Black Forest region of Germany. Tot ziens!
Such a wonderful city I miss being there!
