What type of references are best for drawing/learning? Black and white references or colored references? What things do you look at when choosing reference? What things to look for in a good reference?
Well it's totally up to you. I like to find a reference that I like. If I like the photo then I have better chance of finishing the drawing. 😀 Black and white works the best for pencil drawing.
1st comment! Big fan Bro!😇❤
Thank you!! 1st comment is good, don't be the last. 😁😁😁

What is the size of the paper?
In this drawing the paper size is A4.
Also, is the small brush you used in this video a sponge brush? Can you get any sponge brushes online? I can't find the sketching brush for Marie's one you recommended.
The brush is a cheap flat watercolor brush. The small brush is size 2. Again, brand really doesn't matter. In this video I don't use any of my sponge tool / the Maries sketching brush. The Maries sketching brush is the same as this one www.ebay.com.au/itm/121433693924?chn=ps&_ul=AU&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&srsltid=AfmBOopE8GF9mDTNre9uiM3AP65Irn_znq2UjpR2cilUJpMbcVvcqdG0rZA
Sir can you give a realtime tutorial because I love your videos ❤😊
Real time would be super boring, I draw like 10 - 20 hours. I've tried it in the past, and nobody watched it. 😅
What do you mean by #2 and #22 for the brushes. Which brand is it? Does the specific size or brand matter, or I can just get any blending brushes?
The number is the size of the brushes. I personally don't think the brand or the size matter. It's just some people really want it to be specific so I include the size.
Then how do you do the bangs? Bangs don't have a shape that I can outline. Is there any guide or tips that could help? Especually with bangs that are very far apart, I find it extremely hard to do. (I retried it 5 times) but still looks weird.
They just look like straight lines (or slight curved lines) I think it should be easier, but 1 tip I remember when doing the bangs is don't forget to draw it's shadow too. In this tutorial the photo doesn't have any bangs, so I could find other photo which has bangs for our next hair tutorial if you want too. 😀
Bro can I use empty pen instead of 4h pencil
Definitely yes, I use 4H because it's easier to see my lines. If I use empty pen, the line is harder to see.
I watched your how to measure proportions video. The reference I have is different size than my drawing paper. It is hard to measure the reference, then multiply it by conversion factor, then to my drawing paper. My reference is 8.5 inches by 11 inches, but my drawing paper size is 9 inches by 12 inches. To measure it out, I had to multiply everything measured in the reference by 1.375, as to keep the samr proportion as my drawing paper. Even so, my drawing does not look anything close to the reference. Is there any better way to do it?
Why bother scaling it up/down? It's confusing and hard. Just draw the same size with your reference photo.
When I do pencil drawings like this, I cant even get the facial features correct. My drawing looks completely different than the reference. Is it a problem? What can I do? But when I put the facial features together, my drawing looks like a completely different person than the reference. My problem is that I can't replicate the facial features/the face. I can't capture the essence of the face. Any way to practice?
Try to draw small section at a time. Really measure everything correctly. And place your reference photo literally next to your drawing. It'd be much easier to compare when they're close by. Also shading takes a big part in a drawing too. ☺️
@@armadaliuart Thanks! Should I do a facial features study? I think I should try to study the anatomy of each feature, and draw a lot of it in different angles.
i am facing problem in drawing the outline for hairs i am confused where to start and somehow i mange to do it but i drew it with hb pencil and then i put so much 8b on it that the whole outline disappear please help me with outlines guid
Start by outlining the hair clumps first with a darker pencil, and then do the shading afterwards so that you don't lose the outlines. 😀
this video so Premium Quality with amazing artist 🤍😍
Thank you so much!
