Should Armenians fear Russia’s threats?

  • CivilNet host and analyst Eric Hacopian sat down to unpack Russian Parliament Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin’s meeting last week with his Azerbaijani counterpart, where he suggested that countries appealing to or involving European institutions could lose their statehood. Many in Armenia saw Volodin’s remarks as a response to the European Union’s decision to deploy civilian monitors to the Armenian side of the border with Azerbaijan - and as a veiled threat to Armenia.

Great content by civilnet and Eric... Russia is this false friend of Armenia gambling it on the regional poker table.

Learning from old mistakes & preventing a repeat... the ideological, & spiritual differences are way too obvious to be ignored anymore, the recent inhumane, undignified criminal event in Armenia on September 13th, 2022, and the Artsakh Blockade on December 12th, 2022 until now, the red line is drawn...the mother earth breathing viciously & remains angry. Thank you both for this great insight Eric & Emilio.

Good take from Eric. Agree with most everything he said. Only thing to keep in mind is that Russia is on Armenia's border. They aren't going away. And so far western influence doesn't provide armenia with much help.

People like Varuzhan Avetisyan and jirair sefilian have been saying this since the first war. Let's hope this awakening recognizing the centuries of Russia selling out Armenia to court the Turks will translate into more support for sasna tsrer

@@karinegregorian937 I had the pleasure of meeting and talking a couple of times with Mr Papian at rallies in Yerevan, such a kind, diligent and intelligent man.
