EVERYONE asking "what about this brand?" I state at the beginning of the video that I'm only going to talk about brands that I have had hands on time with, and if I don't mention a brand it doesn't mean I haven't heard of it, it just means I can't give any experience based opinions on it.
Car Audio.etc do me a favour and test DLS from sweden,, very good quality both in sound and build quality,,, they make awsome amps too,,, try it,,, (im speaking from over 20 yrs of experience) cheers from sweden,, ps i only use alpine headunits ;)
If you haven't had experiences with more than just the brands you mentioned then you don't have enough experience in car audio and don't really have the position to give your opinion.
fomocoboy They have been doing Car audio for years under the JBL brand + twenty brands - including AKG Acoustics, AMX, Crown Audio, Harman/Kardon, Infinity, JBL, JBL Professional, Lexicon, dbx, DigiTech, Mark Levinson, Martin, Revel, Soundcraft, and Studer. They just were bought by Samsung 2017
Loved ur vdo. I use a kenwood single din . But wanna change to a new one but will this have any affect on my current JBL speakers quality as I love the sound on my JBL speakers. Pls suggest if changing a head unit will make any affect on current performance
Interesting video mate, I respect that you're only giving input with your experiences with products you've directly used and worked with. Little bit of a shame that some other things mustn't have made their way into your workshop yet, I've been using alpine pdx amps for a while and I will say when I switched one for a focal fpp4100 the difference wasn't too obvious but focal definitely produce a cleaner, clearer and far smoother sound from that amp when compared to the alpines I was using anyway. Could be a ab vs class d thing but who really knows. Regarding subs, have you ever worked with an alpine type r subs? I'm not sure if you mentioned them but man if you haven't then you really should, they really are incredible subs for the money and are capable of a lot! Anyway rather than drawing the comment out too long I'll just leave it at that, would be interesting to chat with you sometime. My current setup is a clarion cz702 deck, hertz hi energy 3 ways in the front (amazing), image dynamics idmax 12" in the boot. Run active through an alpine h800 processor, pdx 4.150 on midbass, pdx 1.1000 on sub and focal fpp 4100 on the midranges and tweeters.
I’m planning to buy a car where one of the options is a bang and olufsen amp and speakers. I plan on replacing the amp, but do you think the speakers are a good option? Or should I save the money on that option and go straight to aftermarket speakers?
Im looking to do something fairly small like 800W setup any recommendations on a good setup? Brands? And any other useful information you have. I don’t have a lot of knowledge on audio setups.
What do you think about the sony xm gs4 amplifier ? Going for audio quality over power. They claim 100 db signal to noise and 100 kHz frequency response ?
Which brand is good for extremely low budget (below 100 dollars) speakers?I am thinking about alpine,is it good at low price, like j type, are they OK for the price?
I trust this guy! I am also a Rockford fan! After hearing what he said about Rockford speakers not being the best.... I only wish I found this video before purchasing components. I have not had them installed but after this review, I do believe I will resale them. Also I was looking to purchase Sound Stream as and amp to power my Rockford components (highs and mids) but now...oh no no... right on time! Thanks guy!!! Thanks to you I will be looking into Rockford Amps and Subs! Great video by the way.. I watched this without WiFi and on my data plan. It has been worth the suffering I will approach later. Thank you!
TOP MAN THANKS WHAT WAS RATING OUT OF 10 FOR ROCKFORD FOSGATE SPEAKERS ETC ?? I THINK IL GET EITHER ALPINE OF ROCK FOSGATE 6X9 SPEAKERS YO 8 / 10 !!!! FOCAL GREAT BUT EXPENSIVE ?? :)))
I agree with most parts of the video, I have only dealt with Alpine, Sony, Focal. Currently have Focal speakers and underseat sub and damn they sound amazing! However they do come at a cost. I have heard Rockford speakers, amps and subs and they are amazing but that was in a car audio showroom. I have videos of my car with Focal speakers, check it out if you like
Hi mate. I have installed Alpine INE-W957A in to my brand new nissan patrol about 4 months ago It all sounds and works great except the fuse keeps blowing when the car is idling. Specially after long drives for eg. 50kms - 100kms idle for few minutes fuse blows. Can not figure that out... what would you think it would be?
I liked my morel speakers but I truly love the warmth of my focal 3 way set up I have now. Great video dont worry about the ones complaining about the lengthy of the video they actually have nothing better to do .
PLEASE HELP!! Any suggestions for a 1982 corvette audio system with a 1000 dollar budget? If you can tell me specific brand for each component that would be awesome. Thank you for your feed back in advance.
I will be using infinity component 6.5 front and alpine sps610 coaxial rear... Which amplifier will be better Sony 4channel xnm1004 vs boston 4channel ref 204A.... Please help
Hi Mate.. Thanks for posting your Video.. Very helpful. I've been looking around the internet & youtube.. Trying to pick out the best car speakers I can.. You're reinforce what i was thinking, so i'm definitely going to go for focal speaker .. I've been working on becoming good at installing, Eg sound proofing and set ups. With some cheap pioneer speaker.. I was thinking.. If I can get cheep speaker to sound good.. When I install some high end speakers.. Eg Focal. It with sound Fantastic.. Thanks for helping.. All the Best.. Steve.. I'm also a DJ.. Cheers..
Sony back in the late 90’s were a great brand with their ES stuff.. Eclipse back in the day used to be an amazing brand as well. The used to have a deck that had 16 volt balanced outputs.
I had an Eclipse system in my car years ago. I absolutely loved the quality sound. Is there a comparable system that will give that quality of sound today that I could buy. I really need your input on this!! Please.
Just put together a system with Pioneer headunit, low end focal speakers (integration series), and the Rockford Fosgate amp you recommended and it sounds AWESOME. Great review and very helpful!
Not sure if you're ever coming back to this video for my question but I have 2. 1. What rockford 10 and 12 inch subs were made around 200-2002? 2. I'm having a dilemma right now. I have these old like 18 year old kenwood dual mag components in my car still and I want to do away with them. I've been looking at morel 6.5 components, infinity ref-6530cx, and CT sounds 6.5 component speakers. Separate tweeters. I'm not sure what to get but I just need something that will sound clean on my jvc kw-r930bts head unit not looking into amps as of now. I just need something that has clarity and clean crisp highs to blend with my 2 Rockford subwoofers. What range of wattage and sensitivity should I look for since I'm using a head unit for power? What certain component speakers do you have in mind? Bass from the speakers I dont mind but I'm willing to sacrifice that for clarity and clean but not piercing sounds from the tweeters. Also I asked about the rockford subs because I My dad got 2 installed in I believe 2001 or 2002 and the old rockford logo is on the sides of the magnet and it's a black subwoofer black magnet and cone surface. the custom box is so huge and it looks like a closed bandpass box with 6 holes facing the front of the car and the subs are sitting up. Its gonna be hell to take it out and I can see a little looking through the holes but haven't had any luck
good vid, for people like me that don't know heaps about car audio it gives a good overview of what's out there, what's good and what is crap - well done!
Car audio etc hey man if u have to do car audio at home with 1500w amp pioneer car stereo n couple of mid range what would I need to power it up would a power supply work
We use the Focal FDP amps at work and and both sets had to go back, we tried them a whie ago and had the same problems, we switched to rockford for the most part but my favorite over ther rockford is the arc xdi series. but personally putting rockford in my car with focal krc 6.5s and two jl w6 v2 subs. focal has amazing sound!
I'm sure if you check FOCAL's website, their cheap speakers are pressed and made to look like they are not. Have you installed the $23,000 dollar (Au) x3 speakers they have?
I really have to agree on your Pioneer statement Their head units are among the finest there is for both SQ and SPL applications. User-friendly interface and easy to work with! Did you know that Pioneer was the first company to feature a removable front-panel on their head units.. This was sometime during the late 80's As for the speakers, the old(er) stuff was far superior to what you can buy today, with a much clearer and smoother sound compared to today's lineup. Especially when you come to the middleground between budget and high-end (The E-series / D-series in the US, in particular) - Even one generation in-between has a distinctive difference in sound characteristics. Where the older TS-E170ci has a very open and smooth mid-range, the newer TS-E171ci does not, and needs a lot of EQ'ing to sound right. Also the tweeters in the older set were pretty similar to the much more expensive pair found in the PRS lineup (large 1.25" soft-domes), compared to the newer 0.75" domes.. though both sets sports neodymium magnets, the older set needed a lot less power to shine. As for subwoofers, the older SPL lineup was probably the best sounding subwoofers ever to come out of the factory (and quite possibly, the loudest subwoofers at the time, setting many records in the early 2000's) The 5 and 6-series (TS-W305c / 306c and 255c / 256c) subwoofers were absolutely brilliant, and were probably the best budget-class subs that money could buy.. There were some series in between today's lineup and the 5/6-series. The early Champion-series subwoofers weren't too bad, and the Champion PRO lineup were rather unique in design, with an internal airtight chamber sandwiched between two cones. Apperantely made to sound better in smaller sealed enclosures (which in fact, they do), but works well in larger ported enclosures as well (which I have sitting under my table right now) Skip forward some years, and the current lineup of subwoofers can't come close to the old ones, both in build-quality and sound. The 11-series (TS-W311c and 261c) is the current lineup, and to say the least, they feel cheaply made. The amplifiers are not too bad for their price, and they do rated power, as in RMS - not the big MAX power rating seen on the box (referring to BigDWiz' review and Amp-dyno of the GM-D9601) And like the head units, the amplifiers do sound great, especially when you start to move into high-end territory
i agree as well... i have the DEH-X6910BT single DIN radio, and it and it's BT capability rocks, except in a hot car, with a hot phone... still have the radio, but not the car... i didnt want to get rid of it and when the car finally gets sold, it'll be a demo derby car, likely, as that's all its worth... but my current car is double DIN, so I may try to find a cheap one with GPS or Android auto...
Love my Pioneer head unit. The one I got was from Walmart for about $80. So not too bad price wise, and brings with it quite a bit of quality and functionality.
i ebay bid and won the amp i never even heard of focal i was just searching for how to have the best possible sound. dude did i just win a 16 thousand dollar amp? i'm having a hard time believing. i bought a pioneer dvd with touch screen 4 50 w chanel and blue tooth its used and 5.8 but im not ready to put it in my prius i then bought a 40 amp 12 v power supply and now the amp. i want a good crisp live sound. can you help?
Enjoyed the info...especially about Soundstream. I owned a couple of Soundstream amps over 20 years ago that were some of the best amps I've ever heard, so I've been tempted by their cheap prices now. Glad to hear your opinion on that. I totally agree on Focal...JBL is a complicated issue for me. They're the biggest company and make some of the best home stuff I've ever heard, but it's just where they choose to place their products in the market that affect quality. If you ever get to listen to their K2 series home speakers I'd highly recommend it. Best I've ever experienced.
Just come across this video. I agree with 100qof his opinions. I'm slightly old skool, so have experience with many older units from tape/CD/md and pioneer/alpine/RF/focal have consistently been top, for most parts. The reason so much of the landscape has changed, because newer cars have mostly bespoke systems and for the average user does the job, compared to when a long time ago, audio was just an afterthought. So, only a few companies exist with the older ethos of quality, the rest compete on the cheaper end. Good video.
if i hadn't seen your video i would've never seen that amp it was listed buy now for near 13,000 is it common? to get it at that price? i wanna know how that works? actually i think i alone bid cause no one else saw it. did i win the lottery from watching you?
I have very similar opinions of car audio. Pioneer makes GREAT radios but don't really like their other stuff. I do love Rockford Fosgate! The amp and sub I have are both made in the US! Sound great! I do like the aluminum subwoofer, aluminum is used a lot in pro audio and stuff and the subwoofers handle a lot more power than they say they can. The speakers are not as nice, but still are great for the money!
Thank you for everything you said about Focal. I'm buying a new Peugeot 3008 and upgrading the stereo/speakers which is to a Focal system. I'm totally convinced now it's money well spent
I have just installed some Blam 165 RS in the front of my Vauxhall / Holden / Opel Corsa, I couldn't believe the difference so have ordered some 5.25 " coaxials for the rear. Now I heard a rumour that Blam have a link to Focal! Is this true? Love this video by the way. Greg from England
I appreciate your honest assessment. I wouldn't disagree with ANYTHING you said. Sure there are other brands but you told us your opinion on what you've worked with. Not surprised at any of your assessments.
Cool video lots of information i really love Rockford fossgate to Pioneer is my favorite head unit to then alpine my dad got one in his 2019 Camaro sounds awesome well i set his system up im not saying that is the reason but il take some credit lol ever since i was younger im not to old lol but i always remembered were im from they didn't have a great Variety im from Pittsburgh pa it's terrible down here mostly everyone hates loud systems but it kinda makes me like to have them even more lol but anywhere i go i have everyone's heads almost doing a 360 i remember having my first car when i was 14 and i had to have my friend drive me and are friends around just having fun bumping i had 2 ROCKFORD FOSGATE 12s and a 1000w RF AMPLIFIER HOLY SHIZNIT that think was crazy AWESOME everyone thought i had 15s i had a sealed box but i think they liked it better the BASS was more tight and crisp if that makes sense but i miss those days. I was Subscribed to your channel before but when i got my new phone o my DAMN just a bunch of crap i had to deal with but i found ur channel again so i subscribed to it sorry for rambling on well i just wanted to say i think ur channel is AWESOME lots of stuff i can learn so thanks for ur videos BROTHA [✌🏼💪🏼🔈✌🏼💪🏼🔉✌🏼💪🏼🔊]
I have an all pioneer system. I have the FH-x820bs and its a great head unit. The speakers are the 4 way 6x8 speakers by pioneer and they have a really nice crisp sound to them and they are made well. The only negative is they need to be in some kind of enclosure to allow a decent level of bass output. but when in a nice door enclosure they put out a ton of bass considering the size of them.. (the pro series pioneer speakers are top end in my opinion) The amp is the gm-d9601 by pioneer and it was tested on the amp dyno and the output was 806 watts at 2ohms(rated 800). and the subwoofers I have are two 10" pioneer ts-w261s4 subwoofers. They are fairly inexpensive but they have decent sized double stacked magnets and a steel basket. well made in my opinion. Overall I love my system and it has great volume and sound quality. somewhere in the area of 125-130db when i really crank into it. I have a db meter i use to test it. Overall I love my system in my SUV and it cost less than 800 dollars. but I would like to know what you think of Kicker? I would like to know what you think of them
I've heard lots of systems & different brand types. I've seen awesome setups that sounded Dreadful, then I've seen crappie setups that sound really good. It took me awhile to put my system together in my truck but I went with Rockford Fosgate a little spendy but well worth it. 8 speakers in my cab & 2 subs all Rockford Fosgate. 2 tweets 4 mids 2 in my extended cab doors. I went with 2, 15in 2000 watt Rockford Fosgate Power T2's , with Rockford Fosgate 2500 watt amp & a Rockford Fosgate 600 watt amp for the 8 speakers in the cab. I replace all the stock wire to all the speakers & had a 6 cell $220.00 Optima battery for my extra power source Which was only hook to the 2500 watt Rockford Fosgate amp. My CD deck is a touch screen Clarion & you could hear my truck coming 4 blocks away. I'm about $7,600.00 into my system & like I said well worth it especially when my body goes numb & I can't see because my eyes get blurry. Rockford Fosgate all the way 👍👍👍...Kilo
So you haven't had any experience with Kenwood? Their eXcelon line has awesome headunits and speakers. I had a pair of Kenwood XR-1800 hooked up to an old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 501x and they sounded awesome. RIght now I have an alpine system with a INA-W900, PDX 2.150, and Type R SPR-17C. I only had the headunit at 25/50 volume but it blew my left speaker which now has voice coil rub :(. These are the older Type R speakers which have a much bigger magnet than the new ones. The magnet is even slightly bigger than the XR-1800 "oversized" speakers. If I open the trunk the trunk rod hits the magnet so I have to keep the stereo turned off when I'm opening the trunk.
I had $229 Sony head unit with $40 Sony speakers, the sounds just ok, but compared with my old JVC audio, Sony sound much better, the bass is more punchy (JVC and Sony at maximum bass) and the treble sound the same until I'm adding cheap little tweeter in the dash, now i'm happy how it's sound.
@Sam S he made a 45 minute video so im sure if he wanted to he could've but as I said he did the ones hes had experience with. But im cool with the ones he did
KENWOOD is part of JVC BUT, they are separate, Kenwood makes great head units!! Arguably the best right now! Excelon XR series is pretty good across the board.
Hey what do you think about my setup only the headunit is installed at the moment and haven't bought the battery yet, cheers mate love your channel. Liquid, how do you like the mix of the alpine with the focals? I'm seriously considering swapping my infinity kappas out for them.... Wish I have seen the focals before installing the kappas :-(.
The mix should sound great i am getting them installed this wed ill let you know how they sound :) its best to get splits that have tweeters and crossover for better sound quality.
Liquid sounds cool man. Personally I would recommend having the same speakers all around and amping all of them because different speakers respond differently to the same input signal and create different sounds and when this happens, you get dips and peaks in your overall acoustic eq and a generally muddy sounding system. Having the same amount of power going to all your speakers also helps them keep up with each other and not doing so would result at the unamplified pair clipping at a much lower volume.
Yeah good point. i will see what i can do. so i should have bought a 4 channel ? i do have a kicker 4 channel but i wanted to go with JL Audio because i hear they make better amps.
wax333 Morel has got to be some of the most top of the line speakers I've ever done extensive research on every single part on the speaker has overkill in mind when designing their speakers.
John G I'm only rating the brands based on my experience and I disclose that some brands I have only worked with their cheaper gear so the rating would only pertain to that.
Loved the video, it gave me some ideas for my 2002 toyota camry. I listen to mostly rock/metal/hardcore music and was wondering what direction to go with my aftermarket car audio. I'm primarily looking for something that has really clean highs with crisp mids, and a low end/bass that won't overpower the highs/mids. I have heard to go with a smaller sub, a high end amp and high end 6x9 speakers. Does anyone have helpful advice for really good amps/speakers or subs for the kind of set up that I'm looking for? Much thanks guys!
hockeyolp8 go with JL AUDIO for the amps use JL AUDIO W3,W6 or Kicker CVR or Alpine type R for sub. door speakers u can use clarion or infinity kappa series..
hockeyolp8 well it really depends on how much money you want to spend, as far as a head unit goes I've use Pioneer for over thirty years without issues. subwoofer I recommend Sundown Audio 6 1/2 inch subwoofer for your small Toyota Camry, and for the rest there's a huge broad Horizon check out CT sounds or down4soundshop. hope that helped good luck.
Both counts are a lie. Also science has proven that the Earth isn't even 100,000 years old. Astronomers, geologists, botanists, oceanographers, microbiologists etc all say so. Do some deep research before stating your opinion as fact. Also the universe was created by design not chance, so that alone proves there is a God.
Satan ..Thank You!! I respect folks opinion, but opinions with many BIAS point of views is what kills me. Ex: Rockford Fosgate being his favorite, yet has a small line of products. Eh.
Hauling Ass Rockfords p2's and p3's are good entry level subs. Their top of the line T2 is as good as RF gets, and it's damn good...but there are others that are far less that kill it i.e Re audio XXX and the older Hcca subs. Alpine has the type R series and they are pretty good too but an Sxx will smack it pretty well their x series sub is shit for the price could get a hcca or a few sundown options that smash it from a power stand point put a re xx against it and it loses. Jl Audio...best they have sq wise...w6 which is nuts because the w7 is their flagship sub. Anyways unless your just a beginner I wouldn't go with Rockford subs as first pick, the Alpine type R is better but...there is better for the price for sure. But Rockford make rope of the line Amps...so they have that. I like Jl but the price is wack as fuck. Re Audio is amazing, they were top notch and then sold to U.S. Amps then to make money back on new investment U.s. Amps began using foreign parts and had them manufactured non domestic...they got a lot of bad backlash...once they broke even they fixed it and Re Audio is top notch again. Orion did the same buuut haven't fully bounced back quality wise it seems 😞. Sundown is amazing. B6 Audio has arguably one of the best subs in the world. Adire Audio had top of the line quality, but quit manufacturing car audio, but if you find a Shiva sub by them snatch it up they are rare. The old Stroker subs were great too,but rare and there is better. Also Digital Designs is amazing as well. I personally love the Re Se-x,Sxx,xx,and xxx, JL w6 and W7 13,Sundown and old Orion. Those are for serious sound from Sq to Spl. But beginner subs? Type R or P3 probably and JL w0. But as far as subs go Rockford is beaten by quite a few subs that cost less that are in the same category. And Alpine Type R can be great, but I've seen DD,Orion, and Re subs in the same class out handle and perform by far.
Based on my experience and quality for the money, these would be my personal picks: Head unit - Kenwood Amplifiers - Rockford Fosgate Speakers / Subs - Kicker Yes, I realize there may be better brands out there, but at a certain point the cost just gets stupid.
I wish Rockford fosgate would pair up with Pioneer"head units" like a nice DEH-x6900 series or above model but I want the headunit to have a small class d punch amp inside the headunit around 200watts RMS. Now how about that a pioneer radio which most don't distort until 59 or 60 out of 62 (on rca out puts) and with the sound quality of a Rockford fosgate punch amp it would totally kick ass.
Best DSP and EQ separates= AudioControl, best amps.= Rockford Fosgate, best sub= JL Audio, best component speakers= Audio Frog, best tweeters Scanspeak beaylium, best juice= XS
In the last 2 years have u had the pleasure of working with Hyphonics brand? Here’s what happened to me I bought a 1000 watt pioneer amp for my 2 12 Sony explodes, hooked it and within 5 minutes it was as hot as fire so I bought a 2nd one and put one amp on each speaker thinking it’d cool it down...it didn’t both were hot as hell. I even had them professionally installed at car stuff. So I bought a 1100 watt Hyphonics amp and took it up there and had them hook that up. So far it’s staying cool to Luke warm but I notice a tiny sound difference in the bass. I swear I think the pioneer amp hit the bass just a teeeny but harder. Wish I knew why they were getting so hot
Morel car speakers are nice or used to be when I sold them 30 years ago. here's the deal What I like and you like might be differnt, you really need to listen to anything on your own. Then decide. That's the problem with Amazon you might get a good deal online but is it the best choice for you? N the only way to pick whats good for you is let your ears decide.
EVERYONE asking "what about this brand?"
I state at the beginning of the video that I'm only going to talk about brands that I have had hands on time with, and if I don't mention a brand it doesn't mean I haven't heard of it, it just means I can't give any experience based opinions on it.
What about DS18's or boss? :D:D:D:D
Car Audio.etc do me a favour and test DLS from sweden,, very good quality both in sound and build quality,,, they make awsome amps too,,, try it,,, (im speaking from over 20 yrs of experience) cheers from sweden,,
ps i only use alpine headunits ;)
Hasse Thorslund I second that comment. I have the a4, a6 and ur6 components so definitely agree :)

Pls suggest if changing a head unit will make any affect on current performance
thanks for all your feedback. this helped a newbie like me out a lot in deciding what brands to continue looking into for my modest budget.
Thank you!
yeah trust ones dudes Opinion lol
So soundstream is shit? I've had my amp and 2x12 for 4 months now, im running 1300wrms atm, and they are kicking hard. I haven't had problems yet tho
I'm upgrading my system- can I email u a components list and get your feedback. I wanna make sure I'm matching things up right
This video really helped I'm working on doing a complete system in a single cab truck witha. New headunit, speakers, 2 10" shallow mount subs, and amp
TOP MAN THANKS WHAT WAS RATING OUT OF 10 FOR ROCKFORD FOSGATE SPEAKERS ETC ?? I THINK IL GET EITHER ALPINE OF ROCK FOSGATE 6X9 SPEAKERS YO 8 / 10 !!!! FOCAL GREAT BUT EXPENSIVE ?? :)))
Brains and Heed units...
What do you recommend for 6 1/2" Focal, that's not to expensive? both separates and coaxial
I am really a fun of Android Stereos. Do you recommend joying android 8 octa core or any similar android stereo or I should stick to Pioneer?
Hi did you ever had a chance to compare FLAX series vs K2 power? Same size. Which ones you prefer and why?
I liked my morel speakers but I truly love the warmth of my focal 3 way set up I have now. Great video dont worry about the ones complaining about the lengthy of the video they actually have nothing better to do .
What would you say would be the best car stereo. I plan to get Rockford fosgate 6.5 prime speakers.
What's better? JL Audio or Sundown? Im considering a W-7 12" w/ Rockford fosgate t750x1bd
How about the Eclipse amplifier that you have in your stockroom. Is it possible to buy it?
Could you check what model it is?
You've never worked with DLS Speakers yet?
Cheers..
what do you think about CRUNCH? ive had good experience with those products
Sony back in the late 90’s were a great brand with their ES stuff.. Eclipse back in the day used to be an amazing brand as well. The used to have a deck that had 16 volt balanced outputs.
have u tried the picasso from soundstream??? if u know how to properly use them they more than effective
Great knowledge! Thank you for sharing!
I had an Eclipse system in my car years ago. I absolutely loved the quality sound. Is there a comparable system that will give that quality of sound today that I could buy. I really need your input on this!! Please.
Audison APS 10 D are the best shallow Subwoofer's for trucks from my experience. What's your opinion?
what do you think about the Rockford Fosgate Prime series amps?
Truly enjoy your work!!
Keep it up!!
From Co USA
good vid, for people like me that don't know heaps about car audio it
gives a good overview of what's out there, what's good and what is crap -
well done!
Car audio etc hey man if u have to do car audio at home with 1500w amp pioneer car stereo n couple of mid range what would I need to power it up would a power supply work
"That's all the brains that I can think of that I've worked with..If you're curious about some other Brains" 1:26 lol
Ron Smith Music where’s ur music
So is there like car audio but more towards hifi instead of only focusing on bass
Highly recommend you get those speakers away from the wall, out the corners and ideally isolated from the bench but mainly the first 2
I'm sure if you check FOCAL's website, their cheap speakers are pressed and made to look like they are not. Have you installed the $23,000 dollar (Au) x3 speakers they have?
Yeah I would agree with Sony one, it has taken me about 4 months to get the Bluetooth to work properly. but sony have loads of other stuff to do.
I really have to agree on your Pioneer statement
Their head units are among the finest there is for both SQ and SPL applications. User-friendly interface and easy to work with!
Did you know that Pioneer was the first company to feature a removable front-panel on their head units.. This was sometime during the late 80's
As for the speakers, the old(er) stuff was far superior to what you can buy today, with a much clearer and smoother sound compared to today's lineup.
As for subwoofers, the older SPL lineup was probably the best sounding subwoofers ever to come out of the factory (and quite possibly, the loudest subwoofers at the time, setting many records in the early 2000's)
The 5 and 6-series (TS-W305c / 306c and 255c / 256c) subwoofers were absolutely brilliant, and were probably the best budget-class subs that money could buy..
There were some series in between today's lineup and the 5/6-series. The early Champion-series subwoofers weren't too bad, and the Champion PRO lineup were rather unique in design, with an internal airtight chamber sandwiched between two cones. Apperantely made to sound better in smaller sealed enclosures (which in fact, they do), but works well in larger ported enclosures as well (which I have sitting under my table right now)
Skip forward some years, and the current lineup of subwoofers can't come close to the old ones, both in build-quality and sound.
The 11-series (TS-W311c and 261c) is the current lineup, and to say the least, they feel cheaply made.
The amplifiers are not too bad for their price, and they do rated power, as in RMS - not the big MAX power rating seen on the box (referring to BigDWiz' review and Amp-dyno of the GM-D9601)
And like the head units, the amplifiers do sound great, especially when you start to move into high-end territory
i agree as well... i have the DEH-X6910BT single DIN radio, and it and it's BT capability rocks, except in a hot car, with a hot phone... still have the radio, but not the car... i didnt want to get rid of it and when the car finally gets sold, it'll be a demo derby car, likely, as that's all its worth... but my current car is double DIN, so I may try to find a cheap one with GPS or Android auto...
Love my Pioneer head unit. The one I got was from Walmart for about $80. So not too bad price wise, and brings with it quite a bit of quality and functionality.
Pioneer were the leaders in the 1980's and revolutionised the car stereo market.
Can anyone give a link on a video like this but for home audio?
i ebay bid and won the amp
i never even heard of focal
i was just searching for how to
have the best possible sound.
dude
did i just win a 16 thousand dollar amp?
i'm having a hard time believing.
i bought a pioneer dvd with touch screen
4 50 w chanel and blue tooth its used and 5.8
but im not ready to put it in my prius
i then bought a 40 amp 12 v power supply
and now the amp.
i want a good crisp live sound.
can you help?
Is In Phase IPA 1601 Pro Series any good ??
Enjoyed the info...especially about Soundstream. I owned a couple of Soundstream amps over 20 years ago that were some of the best amps I've ever heard, so I've been tempted by their cheap prices now. Glad to hear your opinion on that. I totally agree on Focal...JBL is a complicated issue for me. They're the biggest company and make some of the best home stuff I've ever heard, but it's just where they choose to place their products in the market that affect quality. If you ever get to listen to their K2 series home speakers I'd highly recommend it. Best I've ever experienced.
Anybody know anything about the Cerwin Vega HED series?
Thanks. My HED's sound great in my car.
I had 2 reference amps and it worked excellent but you are right about one thing that they blew out when you bridged the amp but there subs are great
I've bought the Rockford fosgate coaxials subs and amps for my new ix25 ..but what components should I go for my front two doors ? anyone ??
D4ng3r0uS MindZ matching components for the rear speakers
I.e same brand and series
Just come across this video. I agree with 100qof his opinions. I'm slightly old skool, so have experience with many older units from tape/CD/md and pioneer/alpine/RF/focal have consistently been top, for most parts. The reason so much of the landscape has changed, because newer cars have mostly bespoke systems and for the average user does the job, compared to when a long time ago, audio was just an afterthought. So, only a few companies exist with the older ethos of quality, the rest compete on the cheaper end. Good video.
Hi. What you think about - CDT AUDIO?
Anybody know what song is playing at 12:00?
What do you think of Focals Access range?
What do you think of Jl audio ? For amps and subs
Robert Dickons rock solid stuff.
Hard to beat JL, worth paying for.
Robert Dickons
Ok
overpriced . good. but overpriced .
JL is quality . Both the amps and speakers.
Hertz, dynaudio and morel make amazing components.. certainly up there with focal
lmao fuken hertz.... you have no idea what you're talking about
@@ArdaiThomasPoker i run Hertz MLK Legend 1650.3 sure their entry level is crap but thats not what im talking about
How about the Sony x-plode series??? Not sure if it was out the time of this video
if i hadn't seen your video
i would've never seen that amp
it was listed buy now for near 13,000
is it common?
to get it at that price?
i wanna know how that works?
actually i think i alone bid
cause no one else saw it.
did i win the lottery from watching you?
So sense rock ford doesn’t make head units could I pair a pioneer head unit with rock for speakers
Can you advise on good amp for 4x 65 rms pls
Straight off the bat I learned something, Neodymium MAGNETS YO! Thanks for your insights.
Whats the best sound for seat Leon st 5f?!
I would like to know what you think of them
Onw of the rare instances where I found review echo personal preferences. Keep going!
Glad you put mix tracks on blast.
But the only thing I like about Pioneer is the app radio live gui.
My P600x4 Rockford Fosgate died after 3-4 years of use. Thoughts on reliability? Sound quality from this amp was simply stunning.
I had $229 Sony head unit with $40 Sony speakers, the sounds just ok, but compared with my old JVC audio, Sony sound much better, the bass is more punchy (JVC and Sony at maximum bass) and the treble sound the same until I'm adding cheap little tweeter in the dash, now i'm happy how it's sound.
in the case of subwoofer...sony or jbl is more better..???
sony 1800w or jbl 1400w.???
Forgot JL and Kenwood.. what about those
He did a review about all the brands HE'S HAD EXPERIENCE with
@Sam S he made a 45 minute video so im sure if he wanted to he could've but as I said he did the ones hes had experience with. But im cool with the ones he did
@Sam S oh im not sure, maybe he just bought it personally 🤷
KENWOOD is part of JVC BUT, they are separate, Kenwood makes great head units!! Arguably the best right now! Excelon XR series is pretty good across the board.
watch the video bro, especially the start of it
Has he even tried sonys subs I have two Sony xplods and I've replaced my windshield three times in a year
...probably not because of the subs...

Ok going to install this amp for the 4 speakers, Kicker ZX350.4 ZX 4 Channel Amplifier (4 ohms: 60 watts x 4 channel)
James Bro You guys need to check out Morel and Hertz gear and DC
wax333 Morel has got to be some of the most top of the line speakers I've ever done extensive research on every single part on the speaker has overkill in mind when designing their speakers.
If you only work with the lower end of a brand how can you rate it as a whole?
Much thanks guys!
hockeyolp8 go with JL AUDIO for the amps use JL AUDIO W3,W6 or Kicker CVR or Alpine type R for sub. door speakers u can use clarion or infinity kappa series..
tbaca619 thanks for the advice. Ill look into all those brands.
hockeyolp8 well it really depends on how much money you want to spend, as far as a head unit goes I've use Pioneer for over thirty years without issues. subwoofer I recommend Sundown Audio 6 1/2 inch subwoofer for your small Toyota Camry, and for the rest there's a huge broad Horizon check out CT sounds or down4soundshop. hope that helped good luck.
Surprised you didn't mention polk or kickers and you are working at a speaker installation shop.
Satan I have a kicker comp r 10 inch in a ported box on their amp. Shakes the whole truck with bass.
I'd say their even with Rockford stuff.
Disciple OfYESHUA their is no Jesus, the earth is billions of years old and were evolved from apes, deal with it.
I changed the door speakers, 5''x7''s, for FOCAL's AC 570, which are not that topend, and the difference is amazing.
For first 5 mins I was like heat units ? Lol otherwise nice video, thanks.
I could buy alpine in the very early 80s so almost 40years
Based on my experience and quality for the money, these would be my personal picks:
Head unit - Kenwood
Amplifiers - Rockford Fosgate
Speakers / Subs - Kicker
Yes, I realize there may be better brands out there, but at a certain point the cost just gets stupid.
Personally amps and speakers/sub, I find much higher quality, yeah you might be paying a bit more but you pay to play, just my opinion though
Hey guy have u tried timpano midrange speakers
I wish Rockford fosgate would pair up with Pioneer"head units" like a nice DEH-x6900 series or above model but I want the headunit to have a small class d punch amp inside the headunit around 200watts RMS. Now how about that a pioneer radio which most don't distort until 59 or 60 out of 62 (on rca out puts) and with the sound quality of a Rockford fosgate punch amp it would totally kick ass.
never will happen.
Best DSP and EQ separates= AudioControl, best amps.= Rockford Fosgate, best sub= JL Audio, best component speakers= Audio Frog, best tweeters Scanspeak beaylium, best juice= XS
agreed till you mention amps sibs and components
Well done video. Thank you.
In the last 2 years have u had the pleasure of working with Hyphonics brand? Here’s what happened to me
I bought a 1000 watt pioneer amp for my 2 12 Sony explodes, hooked it and within 5 minutes it was as hot as fire so I bought a 2nd one and put one amp on each speaker thinking it’d cool it down...it didn’t both were hot as hell.
Could you look into Morel Speakers? I'm not an ambassador for them
I just like to know who do they compare with the others.
Ok thanks, but unfortunately here in Australia we don't have Amazon like America does the amazon that we have only sells books. LoL
With a budget of 100$ that 6.5 speakers would recommend?
Totally agree on the Alpine, solid unfussy design which can also look the part in older cars. A lot of modern stereos are like space machines.
What about Pioneer's Pro Series?
what about Hertz and JL audio
what about crunch powerone?
