Never bleach over toner. You’re supposed to bleach as much as you can to get as light as possible and THEN tone. Tone is basically dye so if you then bleach over that theres no point and you’re just damaging your hair for no reason.

Does it make sense to bleach my hair, put blonde permanent toner on it to get rid of the yellow and then put the grey color on it ? Thats what ive heard on the internet but it doesnt make sense for me to first tone it and then tone the tone again lol
@@switterbeet yes it does, because the toner will probably blend the color that you've bleached it to better, and allow the gray to pop more and look mere even ; )
Just an FYI for anyone else thinking about this or for when you redo this, don't tone it between bleaches! When you tone it your depositing color to offset the bleached color, then you're just bleaching out the toner. Just tone it once and for all at the end and save yourself some time and money!
Can a toner achieve the grey color or do you have to dye it a grey color
@@karlaberganza8452 you have to bleach it light enough for the silver toner to show. a really light yellow/almost white color is what it has to be lifted to for the grayish color. you can find the toner>hair shades charts on google!

just a tip to prevent major damage, even though i bleached my hair close to a level 9 and then applied a permanent dye after, i recommend you using semi-permanent instead bc it'll just deposit the colour instead of opening the hair shaft again and causing more damage with permanent dye! i'm not a professional, but it's what i learned from hair professionals 😅 and from trial and error doing my own silver/grey hair lolol

Don't scrunch up the foil like that! You have to leave it flat otherwise, it will concentrate in certain areas and get blotchy!

I think it would have helped if you divided your hair into smaller sections. Like overall, you have 2 parts on each side, but they're also sectioned to help the bleach distribute more evenly and just really saturate your hair.

I guess the reason why your hair is still a bit yelow on some parts is because a grey permanent toner cant cover yellow hair, so no matter how much you put on the yellow parts it wont turn grey. I guess you shouldve just bleach it twice and then put the blonde toner on and THEN put the grey box dye on. I want to bleach my hair and dye it grey but im anxious that i cant get rid of the yellow parts after and then im fucked up

If you have thick hair it's best to make sure you look in between if you miss pore instead of just applying!!
Did you wash and dry off your hair and then bleached it again? How did you get it so light after two sessions of bleach? Whats your hair type?
if you're planning to bleach again, it'd be advisable to do it on dry hair as the water in wet hair will dilute your bleach

I added toner each time I bleached my hair and then used the silver dye to make it look more white-ish. This is from my experience so I would research more about it for your hair type 😊

Come on people, the so-called "box dyes" are exactly the same stuff you get in a salon, just packaged differently ;D Don't know why they've got such a bad rap, well I do actually - salon folks dissing them to get pepole to pay more money to them... Anyway, it seems to be an entirely US thing, they re not called "box dyes" here in Europe, at least not where I live, just ordinary dyes :)
Hey girl I'm not an expert but the reason that it didn't turn grey is because those parts of your hair that were orange were too dark to absorb the colour. It's like if you're trying to colour using markers over an orange piece of paper instead of white. Since you're using grey it just won't show up. But it looks great overall!

In between bleaching did you let you hair air dry or is it okay to use the blow dryer?
ok so while you used a lot of bleach, the problem itself probably was bcs there was too much hair per section, you need to section more to be able to apply evenly on all strands
