Both girls did a great job! The blue is very subtle. Just sort of like "Oh you thought I was normal? Surprise!" The pink really pops and looks so great with her natural color on top.

Pre toning the hair before fashion shades is beneficial when doing pastels or any colour where you don’t want the underlying pigment to contribute to the end colour. Pre toning is a good way to avoid green/turquoise in your blue when lifted below a level 9 ☺️
Ugh my favorite trend 😭 this was the first way I ever died my hair. It was my natural brown on top w/ purple underneath. I LOVED it

You can tell the first girl did so much research 👍🏾 This reminds me of when I first got my hair professionally dyed green ombre (was supposed to be teal, but ok) and it took 4 hours and cost hundreds of dollars and was soooooo subtle.. It faded out to a moss green, which was super fun.

Reminds me of my failed dye jobs with a supposedly professional stylist. I couldn't see the difference and you want to know what she said? "Oh let's go outside so you can see it in the sun" 😐
I got actual results from freaking box dye compared to her work (the was way back in high school).
@@XSemperIdem5 kind of related kind of not, I had a hairdresser put tape in extensions in, she didn't cut them in, they looked so ratty AND she couldn't find where she put the underneath tape so she literally just stuck the other side to a random part of my head. It was my first extensions ever so I thought I'd trust her I didn't know any better, until I got home and Mum was like wtf... and marched me up there to ask wtf it was and to get my money back😂 I think I only got half? But never went there again
@@steviwoodberry6433 since we're exchanging bad hairdresser experiences from high school: I told my small town hairdresser I wanted ombre back when it was all the rage in 2011 and she obviously didn't know how to do it, but acted like she did, bleached literally four bright orange streaks into the lower layers of my dark brown hair and had the nerve to call it a day and expected me to pay €80 for that dumpsterfire of a dye job. I was 17, too meek to argue back then and literally cried for days, then my friend stepped in and literally did a better job with drug store bleach. 🙃
I wish we could post pictures here in the comments. So many of us are also doing our hair at home and I'd LOVE to see them all. My hairstylist daughter just colored the underneath of my grey hair with purple. It's my middle finger to turning 65 in a couple months!

I have done the DeVil. It is great... but it's hell to touch up. And if you don't want it anymore it is not really easy to get both side to one colour.
I recommend you check out Zorita! She's one of my favorite burlesque dancers. Her black and white hair with the victory rolls were so freaking cool.
I swear to god I thought the whole day about coloring my hair this way. This is definitely a sign. And I will absolutely bleach my dark hair with box bleach

Just a word of caution, this style is a commitment! I did this to my hair about a year ago, and now when I put more natural permanent colors on top that underlayer color is pretty visible when it fades out
I did it and now I’m just waiting for it to grow out with a really heavy line 😩 but it was nice while it lasted

I dyed my underneath hair blue a year ago and since then every dark color I've put over it has faded back to a blue-mix. I went for a full head dark-cherry 9 months after and my underneath ends faded to a charcoal. Still feeling the wrath haha.

I did an underlayer a few months ago and absolutely love it. The color (bright blue and purple) is hidden pretty well when my hair is down, so even 4 months later people still get shocked when they finally notice.

I dyed my under layer red (without bleaching) 8 years ago. Still going now, I've had indigo, blue, light blue, turquoise, green and now I have pink and will definitely go red again in the near future. I absolutely love this style so much ❤
I love this style as well! I have natural blonde hair that has so many different shades of blonde and I love it, but I also love having color in my hair. I found a dye that is perfect for low commitment and it legit washes out after a few washes unlike colorists that claims it comes out in 7-9 washes and takes legit months to get out
That's the only way I'd do a fun color because I mostly wear my hair down so it will just peek through.

Brad you so changed the world of home color jobs, especially when lightening hair. Like I wish I had you 10 years ago when I used to do my own hair at home. These days I rarely do anything to my own hair because I have a good stylist (not the best but good). Military wife life with moving a lot makes finding an amazing harder than normal.

@@fynn2614 Well, I use Arctic Fox for color, which isn't the best for everyone, but it works really, really well for me. I also prefer Ion Bright White Creme Lightener for the bleach, rather than powder. It's just a better formula in my experience, and it didn't damage my hair as much. But this is all in my personal experience, so please take that with a grain of salt. Just stay away from box kits if you can, lol.

Funny note about the Alexa thing (from someone who used to date a person with a very similar name) if you have a similar name that trips your Alexa often, you can actually change the name your Alexa responds to :)

A while back I did a dark brown underneath my natural blonde on top…loved the way it looked! And now I’ve just been using overtone to do fun colors all over! Super inexpensive and doesn’t damage my hair ☺️

I used to have the underneath of my hair be electric purple. Now I have platinum blonde underneath, with a purple-brown on top. Going on 9 years with this hair! 💜🤍

Idk why people hate green hair so much. I went bright neon green in October and loved it. Ended up doing a permanent red after getting tired of semi permanent dye, but the green was awesome!
I remember not wanting ever to dye my hair green back in middle school.(which is ironic because it's my favorite color)I now have half neon green and black. I love the green so much I'm considering doing it all green in the future
threre's pretty greens with intentional shades. but when it's muddy from blue on brassy hair, it's not ideal

I just did a temporary bright blue under my natural white hair, and love how it came out! It’s faded now, and I’m going to do it again.
I just dyed my under layer red and I’m OBSESSED I’ve never bleached my hair like this and done a color and i cannot wait to try Brad’s hair color products for my new hair journey!!!

This is my favourite hair dye look! I got my hair underneath dyed pink, but I didn’t dye all the way around my head, I only did two pieces closer to the front. I LOVE IT!!! So easy to maintain
