Nice to see a review from a 1st time user, most of the review are from people with lots of experience so it’s hard to go off what they say for a beginner.

I just picked up one of these at Bass Pro. Took it to the beach In Panama City Beach Florida. Yes I agree it’s not as stable is my ocean kayak Malibu two. I was fine once I made it past the breakers though. Super comfortable seat and the open deck give me a tons of options for gear. I love it for the price for sure. I’m headed back down in a couple of days and will try it in a dune lake.

He could move that seat up 6” or so, put more of his gear center/forward and he wouldn’t have that rear weight issue. He’s a bigger guy so he’ll have to figure out that weight distribution thing

nice video. im picking my 10t up next weekend. I'd say that since he's a bigger guy, if there were any kind of waves the water would come over the rear of his kayak as low as he's sitting. In fact you can see it coming over the rear about the 17:25 mark. Probably should have gotten the 12T.

Thanks for the comment. Looks like a good rig for fishing.

Good video. I have been looking at this kayak for two weeks and have been undecided. I just sold one(sundolphin) because it was too tippy. I think I will continue looking or consider the 12T. I really want to be able to stand up. Thank you! This was a great review for this boat.

Move forward to equalize the weight distribution, and it will probably be more stable.

I'm 6'2" 270# my 10T fills with water through scupper holes no matter how tight they are. Just doesn't handle the wieght. Rides too low in water. Also very unstable

I believe those are rated 325 pounds, Id say this guy is near 260 pounds if youre closer to 300 than you are 200 should have gone with a bigger boat

I had this kayak for a day and returned it...I am 220lbs and almost sunk the boat, and I see this dude is WAY too low in the water too. Not only that, this thing is REALLY unstable. Junk kayak, do not buy people!

      It's not a junk kayak.
It's the wrong kayak for this big fella. Also, moving gear towards the front helps.
Good video. I'm 5'7 at 180 lbs and I think this kayak will be my first purchase. I've watched many videos and educating myself before a purchase. The materials alone are quality and thickness of the yak should give years of enjoyment.

@@lineshooter5w No, it is a terrible kayak...you can do much better for the same price point.

@@tbone6924 Which ones do you recommend around the same price?

@@KTroj21 I am a fan of Perception kayaks myself (own a Pilot), but for around the same-ish price as the ascend is the Perception Outlaw. This is a wide kayak so is extremely stable, even standing up, and has a large weight capacity. If one wanted to stay with the Bass Pro Shops line (Ascend) their 12 foot kayak would be a better choice, but not sure about the pricing on that one.
