Figured it out:
BLINKER GENIE ("BG") Wiring for 2004 Yamaha Vino 125 YJ125S. Dream come true now, as I've wanted Running Lights since purchasing VINO new in 2004.
NOTES:
1/ Blinker Genie creator advised to "NOT" solder these connections, to allow for quick-disconnect later, and to not consume already-sparse wires; thus, I chose WAGO lever connectors
2/ I converted 1-Horn to a 2-Horn system, hence the "Horn RELAY." If your Horn is stock, then use the same exact wire as I did that delivers Power ("hot") to the Horn. You can also power this upgrade w/ your Headlamp "hot" wire "IF" your Low Beam stays "ON" when your High Beam is "ON." Mine isn't, thus had to tap Horn wire.
3/ BLINKER GENIE converted my Turn Signals to Turn Signals with RUNNING LIGHTS feature
4/ Quick Tap Wire Connectors might be tempting, but I don't like them ever, especially not for use in a vehicle. Thus, I cut all 4-Wires going to Front Turn Signals (RH Green, Black || LH Brown, Black)
5/ One BLINKER GENIE for RH Front Turn Signals, another BG for Front LH Turn Signals. They are sold in twinpacks.
6/ I hope this clarifies installation. As an amateur, DIY self-taught on electronics, took a while distilling Instructions & RUclips videos into something that made sense to me. I'm working on a drawing that would simplify if further
7/ Front (Amber) Turn signals only. Rear Amber Running Lights are illegal. If I could find RED Rear Turn Signals, I'd install Rear Blinker Genies too
8/ During installation, BG inventor suggested keeping Stock Flasher Relay intact. Test new wiring. Then OK to install new LED Flasher Relay
9/ I never had Hyper-Flashing, I think because I had installed a new LED Flasher Relay first thing-- but DID have 4-Way Flasher error, that was corrected after installing the pair of BGs. (I had to re-install the old Flasher Relay while wiring up BGs.
RIGHT-HAND SIDE (''RH'')
RH BG RED WIRE + LH BG RED WIRE + OEM STOCK HORN POWER ''hot'' WIRE going to Horn Relay [cut] --> WAGO WAGO BLACK WIRE to BULB [cut] --> WAGO 3-way GREEN WIRE to BULB [cut] --> WAGO
Mitch, 1/ Where do Genie wires tap into, 2004 Yamaha Vino? 2/ How to correct all-4 Turn Signals from flashing when Turn Signal is "ON"? Phoned CustomLED, they don't know.
Just converted VINO tinny toy Horn to loud 2-Horns, incl. Horn Relay + inline Fuse, so I am capable. VINO Turn Signals are different setup from Vespa w/ tight wiring compartment. Thanks for helping. Love your clever videos.
Really makes a nice difference! I would like to point out tho that those crimp on connectors were never designed to be used on their own. They were designed to ALWAYS be used with heat shrink tubing over the top of them. Makes a much stronger connection, and makes it more weather proof.
👍🏼👍🏼
Good job Mitch!
Thanks!
Good job Mitch!!
Thank you!
Bought this for my Honda Super Cub for those occasional night rides. No wonder I couldn't figure out how to make this thing work, nowhere in their instructions does it say how to hook up the black wire the way you showed here. It literally just says "attach it to the turn signal's ground wire". Their diagram leaves much to be desired too. I'm so glad I didn't just start cutting wires.
Ahh yeah I was confused before when I installed for first time years ago... glad this video helps! My neighbor bought Super Cub a few weeks ago 😄
Hi do I have to this to rear lights? I love the video. Thank you
Yes you can do rear lights! I did to my 1967 VW Bus ( Kona The Bus ) on my other channel 😄👍🏼👍🏼
how about rear signal lamp? Which wire I can connect it to DRL light?
Connect to running light wire from tail light and use RED led bulbs, you can't run orange for running light on rear
Nice
Thanks
I know its a Vespa, but can you do the same thing woth other mopeds?
I am sure mopeds like PUCH, Piaggio, Fox can do the same, never worked on one... just scooters, I know they have same wiring setup.
Isn't that illegal? In EU, you can only have white lights in the front.
No, it's legal here in US... white and orange lights on front and side on front end
Some EU countries have yellow front head lights
@@keithletheren196 I don't know about that. I've seen yellow fog lights in addition to white headlights, never yellow headlights. And that was like 20 years ago.
