- UK Gladiators - Series 6 1997 - Episode 15 - Final - 20th December 1997
Here are the 1997 Gladiator finalists!
Wendy Famiglietti (Full-time mother from Chingford, East London) versus Audrey Garland (Fitness instructor from Dublin, Ireland)
Piers Bryant (Water skiing teacher and director from Copthorne, West Sussex) versus Adam Stretton (Hotel concierge from Basingstoke, Hampshire but originally from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire)
Notes: Out of all 17 Gladiators appearing in the Final, Warrior returns to Gladiators after his 11 absents throughout the series due to injuries.
It features a brand new event, Tightrope in the Final of Gladiators 1997.
Duel is in the final of Gladiators 1997, as a split event for the men, but is supposed to be played as a ‘whole event’ for all men and women because The Wall is played as a split event for the women but is not supposed to be in the final which does not take place in the final.
Powerball is in the final of Gladiators 1997 for its eighth appearance but was meant to be ninth because it was supposed to be played in the second Semi Final as part of a base of appearance as the main event, but it is put on the fourth event which is supposed on the second event in an event line-up after Tightrope, not before the fifth event.
Hang Tough finally appears in the final of Gladiators 1997 for the first time since the Quarter Finals and for its seventh appearance but was meant to be eighth because it was supposed to be in the second Semi Final as part of a base of appearance as the main event, but it is put on the fifth event, instead of the fourth event.
There are no 'Time Out' segments of Gladiators’ winter training camp in Coco Beach, Mauritius to be shown in the Final of Gladiators 1997.
Prizes: The finalist contenders will share a grand prize of £4,000 in prize money by receiving one of two prizes; champions will each receive a top of a range sport cabriolet. Runners-up will each receive a holiday of a lifetime in the paradise island of the Comores, which is off the coast of South Africa.
The contender with the fastest Eliminator time on the Eliminator will also receive an extra £1,000 bonus by breaking or holding the fastest Eliminator time with the existing record. Развлечения
Adam and Piers were the best contenders this series. They were so lightning fast in the Eliminator, it was only fitting that it came down to those two in the final
Nostalgia right here I used to love this show elite viewing back in the 90s this was ❤️
Powerball felt like just another event without Jet's smiles and cartwheels.
A rare victory for GOLD in this series, defeating Audrey in quite spectacular fashion one handed on the Zip-Line.
I really liked Wendy. Her run this series had a bit of a Cinderella story feel to it and it's a shame only the rope climb on the eliminator stopped her from winning.
Agreed i remember feeling really gutted for her when she lost.hope she enjoyed her paridise island trip though.
@John James Lincoln
It was a poor eliminator performance from her.
It wasn't just the rope which she did really badly on, yeah she did so bad on the rope that alone wouldve lost it for her but she was also extremely slow on the cargo net, it was the most casual I've ever seen someone climb up it you'd think she was miles in the lead not behind.
Better had she won it
Great! Thx for upload!
Ah this brings back memories baywatch followed by gladiators 😃
Not forgetting Blind Date
Man O Man with Chris Ttarrant. Remember that one lol.
Feel old. I was sat in the crowd when it was being filmed.
Wow! I have to ask - how long were the setups between events? What did they do between them to keep you all entertained? How long was the event in total?
@@ukrichardwalker setting up 15 to 20 minutes not really that long. Lots of extra crew you dont see. In between it was mostly camera stuff and making sure everything line up. All together think. I was there 2 hour may close to three. Was still good. the all gladiators would get there crowd going. I was up in the nose bleed seating.
I think that Piers was trying not to look directly at Ulrika during his opening interview. The view may have been slightly distracting.
All in all, the champions were worthy. Audrey scored less points in the entire show than Piers did in the final, but she was plucky and always rose to the occasion on the Eliminator.
As for the men, Piers was someone who improved immensely over the course of the season. Same as Mark Motram. Adam did as well, but Piers had that extra gear in him. As we saw on the Eliminator here.
Amazing Men's eliminator.
MAN Warrior is juiced to the gills here! With the stress from his court case, roid rage and generally having a short fuse, no wonder he couldn't help himself and get disqualified.
Literally scrolled down to see if anyone else had clocked that. Profusely sweating before he’d even moved aswell 😂
@@brewtal85 Him and Raider were the sweatiest Gladiators but at least Raider usually waited till the event had finished before he melted. Warrior is having a sweat shower just standing there.
Probably taking drugs!
@@Daniel-ec1et Actually it was a Fire Arms Offence that Warrior was being charged with
@@Daniel-ec1etCorrect. Warrior was also charged with possession of steroids carried in Tesco Bags and carrying CS Spray Canisters
Brilliant
Piers defeating Khan on DUEL, that's like beating SHADOW at DUEL
The Irish Government should have waived the import duty for Audrey to bring the car back home to Ireland
Hi there's a celebrity episode of Gladiators is missing! Could u upload that one for me plz!
33:51 I think Wolf wanted his man to get the points!!!!!
He wanted an exciting eliminator, he knows what the fans want.
@@frankiestevensontotally unfair on the other guy though. Fine margins and every point is vital
Okay, another season is over. Time to sum up who the best gladiators were in season 6. To qualify, gladiators must have at least 14 events so Fox and Warrior had too few starts to qualify. First, let's get the scores of the women.
1. Rio 215.233
2. Rebel 204.708
3. Lightning 203.976
4. Falcon 195.612
5. Rocket 184.444
6. Vogue 177.856
7. Siren 171.562
8. Gold 99.74
I saw in the comments that Gold was a bad gladiator and looking at my results, they weren't kidding. Now, let's get to the men.
1. Hunter 225.926
2. Rhino 198.901
3. Ace 174.389
4. Khan 169.506
5. Saracen 153.289
6. Cobra 138.316
7. Wolf 123.309
This is the second season in a row Wolf finished last among male gladiators. Was he just too old to be any good by this point.
Congratulations to Rio for her second straight Gladiator of the Year award and Hunter for his third straight Gladiator of the Year award. Hopefully, with all the desperate changes made in season 7, we'll also get a change in Gladiator of the Year.
Saturday 20th December 1997
whats the song called in the background when they announce Wolf
You know an event is dull when they feel like they have to jazz it up with explosions.
Well its a shame Wendy had a disastrous rope climb but she definitely is Supermum to be a mum of 3 and make the season finale big respect and Audrey a worthy champion not the highest scorer by any means but she was there and took advantage of Wendy's mistake she had great support from Ireland and her mum couldn't take all the tension bless her.
26:43 I bet the contenders were scared of colliding with Hunter in case they tore off his shoulder. Looked like the bionic man was coming to play.
Vogue is my favorite of the gladiators. Man she is beautiful
She is smoking hot!!!
P.C. Marketer: Damn straight!
In all honesty, I would kick none of them out of bed for farting, stunning bunch!
LJ Garrison: Lol
She and Jet
15:47 You know Warrior was gonna be gone from the show after that, especially with him getting injury prone. Shame. :(
He ended up in prison
@@graham2sexy955 when
@@paulmarkwilkinson8778 after the 1997 series of Gladiators Warriors was fired because he got in trouble with the police
@@sampugh5674 I see
15:58 one of the cheerleaders wasn’t happy 😆
I used to watch Gladiators if I had a chance in Aada while my family did the weekly shopping on a Saturday in the mid 90s as a kid lol. I had a thing for Jet and especially when she was The Games Mistress on Games World.
She looked spitting image of my mum so it was a bit awkward. Needless to say, all the kids liked playing at my house when we were young 🤦♂️
Not only were the cars getting cheaper and crapper every year, the amount of prize money kept decreasing. From 5.000 pounds to 1.000 pounds!
At this rate, the loser was getting better prizes than the winner did!
1,000 was an insult!
I was here 22 years ago wtf!!!
In HANG TOUGH your allowed to flip your body 360 degrees or lift your legs up to defend but you not allowed to turn yourself completely upside down like Adam did with Hunter.
David Fearis I am fairly sure that you recall in Australian Gladiators when a similar stunt was pulled as it was not specifically prohibited at the time the contender was allowed to keep the points. This show was after that one so I suspect the rule was changed for UK Gladiators at the same time.
@@michaelvidal1971 Yeah I saw that, but afterwards though the female contender was allowed to maintain the 5 Points for the draw, the referee said the rules would be changed to prevent future contenders doing that maneuver again
What is the music for pendulum?
Its a classical song called: O Fortuna from Carmina Burana. The version that's played here, is the 1991 acid house remix called: O Fortuna by Apotheosis.
National Championship
Supershow
Nina and Anna Williams was there
Tekken.
Cobra took warriors place a few times this season, being the backstop in gauntlet and the centre man in power all
I think if Lightning got her legs around me it would definitely be an instant finish 😄
hahahaha
I think warrior was still injuried and protecting his injuries he was only in one event
Hi wolf
I've met to old gladiators jet and hunter in real life Dianne youdale dad is my dad teacher in school
no co co beach training camp odd for this season
There was! The training camp was shown throughout the series just not the final!
Well at least an injured warrior gave Adam a better chance of winning ,good juel with Karn being wobbly lol ha he
Whatever reasons they had for putting Warrior on this show, it was obvious he wasn't fit for it. He deliberately jumped the whistle because he knew he couldn't afford to go down.
Speaking of embarrassing, Gold's only win ever on this show was because Audrey was too useless on Tightrope. And Gold still barely fell, LOL!
They go on about health and fitness the whole show then finish it with a song about getting pissed (yes that's what it's about incase people don't know)
If the BBC have any chance of a successful Reboot, they have to be in the big room again for the same atmosphere.
Their using the arena in Sheffield that has a big room that has the same atmosphere and the company that is running the reboot is the same company that ran original series back in the 90s the reboot that was on sky one was a different company
A Giant Arena with a Swimming Pool too
Warrior knew the rules; wait for the referee's whistle before striking the first blow. He broke them twice,so he was disqualified. It's that simple.
Audrey how the heck did she win this thing haha.. she barely scored any points but she seemed to have massive luck in some way every round.
Lady Luck was watching her back.
If Wendy had a better Rope Climb it would've been her becoming The 1997 Champion
Not as much as Andreya Warry had.
Andreya was miles better than Audrey who kept relying on her opponents to mess up to win
An irish gladiators? Don't remember that don't think we ever had one wasn't on TV anyway.
It only aired in Ireland
@@jacobburtonswfc yeah from Ireland don't ever remember that. Always had to tune into itv
@@neilberry1552 I think Audrey made it up for the craic.
@@frankiestevenson makes sense
I know one of the gladiator Khan I use to work with him in digebth night club he was a door man he told me that he was in the gladiators didn't believe him
Good looking fella!
No wonder how did the Warrior got disqualified for false start twice.
By breaking the rules.
Roid rage
Ultika was so hot
More like she’s a wrong doer.
shame on warrior on the duel he is experienced and should know better
Maybe the fact that he was out of action for so many shows made him a bit too eager.
@@nicoladale1668 i agree :D
I don't! His temper was always a bit suspect; the time he pushed fash out the way, the time he got sent home banned because he beat up a contestant in a powerball "safe zone" (and said he wasn't interested in zig zag lines), the time he went to jail for steroids. This one. I was quite surprised he lasted as long as he did. Lightening for example played ALL the games and did it with a smile. Warrior threw a fit when he had to play anything involving gravity saying they weren't "his games".
I think warrior was protecting his injuries
I did notice that warrior has a moody side not good bit creepy, I meet warrior in 1995 and he was really nice ,sounds like warrior has mood swings I know the type I can see right though moody men lol ha ha
Big bottle job by pink on the eliminator.
15:55 LOL at the smarmy look on the face of that dark-haired cheerleader on the right, like she was deriving sadistic pleasure from Warrior being DQed. That's horrible.
36:07 What is this, the circus????
No.
No it’s Gladiators
Cute
Ah gladiator, the show that would refuse you as a competitor if you was too big and would destroy and show their gladiators up
