      Definitely one to consider when higher line capacity, line pickup, and drag resistance are important. The compact shape and line winding is also nice.

      What size reel? I wonder if this would be a problem for all sizes or just 2500.

    • @DadLifeFishingAdventures
      @DadLifeFishingAdventures  6 месяцев назад +1

      It is most likely more of an issue with the smaller sizes than the larger as many of parts get larger and better designed to handle the drag power. @christopherlombardi4958 what real size are you using.

      @@DadLifeFishingAdventures I just bought the 3000 to go on a 7' MH rod as my northern pike rod. Hopefully it's not an issue in that application, though I know how to set drag just fine.

      @@karlkrause6679 that'll be a great northern pike setup. I've only had it happen when the drag is set towards the higher thresholds. Good look out there and let me know how you do.

    Just received mine. LT2500D-XH. the bail wire is smaller, and it not as smooth as expected, plus the handle feels a bit loose. It made in Vietnam, not sure if that matters. Planning to return it and get a Shimano in this price range instead.

    • @DadLifeFishingAdventures
      @DadLifeFishingAdventures  10 дней назад +1

      @@peteryeung111 no I'm sorry I got confused for a second. Most of daiwa reels use the LT moniker in there name. I don't think you'll be disappointed in it. Many reels are rough until they are broken in after a few trips. I would pick daiwa over a Shimano any day. If not, I would highly suggest the pfluger president XT

    I've been using a 2000 and a 3000 size Diawa Revros a lot lately for redfish, trout and flounder around the Chesapeake Bay and I can't complain. They're pretty cheap but they're light and smooth and so far I've caught reds up to 27" and a pile of smaller ones and trout. Also I foul hooked a big stingray and got dragged around the grass flat in my kayak, no problem. It tested the drag on the 2000 and it's fine. Maybe they won't last forever but they're still going fine after daily use, and I take them out in my kayak so I don't need to take my Penns that are more expensive. I haven't tried the Fuego but the Salt Strong guys seem to like them a lot.
    I have a couple $50-60 Pfluger reels that are pretty nice too for the price. And I still prefer Penn, they've rarely failed me.
