@@DadLifeFishingAdventures let me check… Mines a sit-down. Side note: Drain plugs are a point of potential failure. In a sit-in kayak, the goal is to keep the water out. If you were far from land and the drain plug got dislodged/leaked, you'd be in a ton of trouble. When you get to wherever you're going, it’s not a big deal to turn it over.

@@Kevin-co7dr yes This option would not work with a sit-in kayak like that. You may be more attuned to put a bright light in the The hall in the kayak with it sitting upside down and turn the lights off in the room and see if you can see the light shine through.

@@bingfn6678 unscrew the cap on the opposite side. Then unscrew the handle. Then place them on the opposite side.

It was an awesome section of creek. I could of just kept going for hours. I waded about 3.5 miles of it during the tourney and it kept getting better and better. Thanks for watching.

@@jamiecrownover5224 that is tough when that happens. Takes the joy out of fishing. I'd look to buying a used one marketplace or eBay for parts.

@@mden2490 it's definitely a quality reel. That's a great price. I am a fan of the president XT and supreme xt pflueger reels.

@@DadLifeFishingAdventures thanks for your reply. I was hoping that you can briefly explain why you think that the XT is a bit better? I have a 5'6" rod rated at 4-12Lbs IM6 graphite.

@@mden2490 I believe that the president xt and Revo x are comparable reels. I have had less line winding issues with the president xt which would be my reasoning. Otherwise they are interchangeable. I would suggest a size 25 reel for that rod as you should get better cast performance with the smaller spool.

@@kaeeroyal3124 hmmm... that's interesting. Can you explain in more detail what you are experiencing.

@@DadLifeFishingAdventures When im reeling in the line, it is smooth but it also feels like the internal part is loose. For example, if I put one of my hand and hold the bail and use my other hand to wiggle the handle. It feels like it's a little loose with a little play. I bought a daiwa bg and has the same problem after one use. Never had any issues like this with any of my shimano reels.

@@kaeeroyal3124 I tried that with my daiwa and pflueger reels and they all have some level of play. The daiwa reels moved a little bit more. I don't feel that this a significant concern towards the dependability of the reel.

The jigs used here are 9.79 for a 5pk. These baits compete with the more expensive chatterbaits and you get more flexibility in color and design. I would also suggest looking at Barlow tackle which has some great products as well. I did another video in this series using their products.

@@DadLifeFishingAdventures I guess I didn’t see qty in a package. My bad. First thing I picked up on was the eye of the jig. Your video was kinda hard to identify, the linked website was very clear to see the eye. I tried making my own and first thing I saw was a sideways jig. I didn’t even know other companies made the eye in the opposite direction. Thumbs up on your video.

@@peteryeung111 the LT is lower version then the Fuego. Definitely would suggest following the link in this video to learn more. I am not a Shimano fan.

@@DadLifeFishingAdventures Not sure what you meant…LT is still the fuego, isn’t it? I checked your link, and it’s the same reel I got. What is the higher version than the LT? Thanks for your help.

@@peteryeung111 no I'm sorry I got confused for a second. Most of daiwa reels use the LT moniker in there name. I don't think you'll be disappointed in it. Many reels are rough until they are broken in after a few trips. I would pick daiwa over a Shimano any day. If not, I would highly suggest the pfluger president XT

@@chakoopz1652 the size 20 is a good creek size for finesse baits. I don't have experience with the size 10. I feel it would be like an ice fishing reel in characteristics.

@@DadLifeFishingAdventures I fish for bass mainly, so there that but it has some nice pike in there too. I lost a 10 lb pike a few weeks ago , hit a neg rig off the bottom. Definitely took me by surprise. And some pan fish

Thanks it is always a blessing to get up to the northwoods on a trip. Ya it will always be a mystery mentally I'm leaning towards a turtle because it didn't ever run hard just was very heavy.

It is a very scenic river and had quality fish in it. Neither one of them had kayak fished or caught a smallmouth before. They all got on a super fun moving baits bite

@@DadLifeFishingAdventures ive had one for multiple seasons a 2000 its got some play in the rotor if i move it still balanced and smooth (im a smooth reel snob if it bumps or grinds and is not an old classic reel i cant stand it and try to fix it) also the rod he is useing i know what it is its a cabellas tourney trail im8 rod lol ive had one of those lol it was a good rod but i owned it when the tip was already broken bought from prev owner that way he got it from bargan cave but yeah point is the crossfire lt i had got at my local shop for 20 us dollars on sale and dont regret it its a great reel as stated slopy rotor ive serviced it so meany times never got the slop to go away BUT it doesent care it still smooth it doesent grind witch you think it would (its the pinion gear and rotor that moves no tightening has helped but does not matter) also BIG CAUTION DO NOT LET THE BAIL FLIP BY TURNING THE HANDLE FLIP BACK BY YOURSELF THATS HOW SO MEANY SPINNING REELS BREAK!! they make them to do it but it just wears out the reel soooo bad

Unfortunately I did not do a repair video. You need wire mesh, matching plastic, and a plastic welder to make a quality repair.
