Powerglide befriends a young woman named Astoria who is being targeted by the Decepticons. It would stand to reason the Decepticons are targeting Astoria is that she might have a secret formula her father was working on before he died and left his company to her. When the Decepticons abduct Astoria, Powerglide must find her and rescue her. But can they stop Megatron from getting his hands on Astoria's father's formula?

If this were a modern anime, she would be a princess, the whole thing would be a ploy so that she wouldn't have to marry/get assassinated by some geezer, a plot would be revealed where her country has a huge deposite of energon (her "advisors" want to sell it to the decepticons), and end up with her getting a cybertronian power armor alt-mode.
Which, let's admit, would be pretty sweet.
She and Powerglide could have been Headmasters together.

Not even he’s as bad as Unicron (nor is even his newest Decepticon cassette - Ratbat - as bad as Unicron) [let alone not even is Soundwave’s voice as scary as how bad Unicron is, and not even is Trypticon as bad as Unicron]. Heck, had Blaster still been seen, throughout the rest of the movie, he’d have known that him and Soundwave would have to not be enemies with each other (same with Ramhorn - Blaster now had his Autobot equivalents of Soundwave’s Decepticon cassettes, having to not be enemies with Soundwave’s cassettes - as well as Soundwave’s new cassette - Ratbat, would have included Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage and Laserbeak, and, even though he wasn’t in the movie - Buzzsaw). Even Soundwave would have done in the best, in the movie, to destroy Unicron (heck, even Soundwave would have cheered, when the Autobot matrix exploded Unicron’s body, leaving only his head).

1.- He hates bonding with humans like Astoria that much.
2.- In this episode Megatron doesn't have his eternal chew toy/stress ball to get relief violently (AKA....Starscream)
3.- He just realized he didn't pay the warranty for the forcefields and now has to mop the floor like the rest of the crew.
lt has been Megatron's own fault he got frustrated. He was so selfish.

11:52 everybody always talks about Astrotrain being able to fit devastator inside him, but no one ever brings up how ratchet can fit both powerglide and wheeljack inside him and and an ambulance is pretty damn small compared to either Space shuttle or train.
These guys are all about fitting inside each other. Notice how almost all the characters are dudes.
G1 cybertronians seem to be equipped with a size-changing ability. Either that or the writers just don’t seem to worry about how big they are.

I choose to ignore that because each episode was written by a freelance writer who didn't have access to anything but basic bios. Every episode is a vacuum. G1 barely had a continuity.

It's been over 35 years since I've watched this episode once, but it was something so remarkable that I still remembered it. The script for these stories was as simple as it was excellent.

people keep talking about moonracer, but nobody seems to realize that (unlike firestar/inferno and chronia/ironhide) their interactions are kept to a minimum. The way they talk, they seem less romantically involved and seem more like they’re just friends. Far less intimate than the other two.
Moonracer and Powerglide are like old college rivals who love to excel meeting after millions of years.

Sure the robot-girl relationship has been done far better in the Bumblebee movie and the overall plot is wonky at best, but despite that, I've a soft spot for this episode as it is my FIRST introduction to the Transformers universe as a kid and I've watched this more often than not even in my 40s! ♥
One: I've heard about this episode, but this is my first time seeing it. It's a lot different than how I thought it was going to be. Second: the way Powerglide just straight up threw Astoria out of that control room! XD XD

As for the other Decepticon Seekers- Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet- they maybe cannon fodder, but when given motivation out of fear or threat from their leader; they're proven to be quite deadly

Three things. First of all, it was the 80s, so the storyline made total sense. Second, that girl's arm should have popped off like an ant leg by the end of the episode with the way ol' Powerglide was jerking her around. And third, Spike somehow was the most unlikeable character in this episode for me...go figure.

The Human race in G1 Are All Super-Strong, as for a Kid's Show that Violence and Blood are Limited.

She is the best female character out of this entire series, at least this season. We knew what we were in for with this episode in the very first scene, when it took TWO DECEPTICONS to hold her still. I'd say that about set the pace for the entire episode just right.

I've got new for ya, TFA Sentinel Prime. These "creepy organics", as you like to call us, just drove Megatron insane and with the help of Optimus and his crew, sent Megs and his band packing. We humans are not like the spiders on Archa Seven; we can be pretty freakin' helpful if we're operating an Autobot's vehicle mode.
