I know what you mean about needing the line to break when youre in a snag. Trying to break the line when youre stuck in a snag whilst using 15lb line and your thinking to yourself is my bale arm going to snap. 15lb line breaks nearer 20lb and its a nightmare when youre snagged up
@@34136TS Barbel rods used to be 1 lb Avons. Then they were 1.5 lb and some people said it was overkill. Now you can get 3 lb barbel rods and reels up to 10000 series to fit. Rods are made to cast as much as catch nowadays.

Never use 15lb reel line for that reason plus if you break off such heavy line it can create another snag in the swim
